Orientador: Auro Aparecido Mendes / Banca: Oswaldo Bueno Amorim Filho / Banca: Silvia Selingardi Sampaio / Resumo: O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o processo de formação do pólo calçadista da Azaléia no município de Itapetinga-BA, investigou-se a estrutura produtiva e as implicações políticas estabelecidas no espaço local, que é reestruturado para atender aos interesses dos atores políticos/econômicos. Para tal finalidade foi realizada pesquisa de campo mediante aplicação de formulários, entrevistas etc., visando coletar dados que interpretem a organização industrial uma vez que há uma pulverização de unidades produtivas, ou seja, as filiais/galpões estão espacializadas em torno dos distritos e municípios circunvizinhos de Itapetinga, que agrega a sede do pólo situado no distrito industrial, implantado especificamente para atender as necessidades da empresas que se estabelece no espaço local cuja expectativa é de gerar dez mil empregos diretos. Salienta-se que a mobilidade de empresas no porte da Azaléia que tem sua sede estabelecida no mais importante pólo calçadista do país (Vale dos Sinos no Rio Grande do Sul), ocorre em virtude dos benefícios concedidos pela política fiscal estabelecida por estados e municípios que concedem ao grande capital vantagens fiscais e creditícias para que estes se estabeleçam em seus territórios, e nesse sentido o lugar é reestruturado/modernizado para atender os objetivos do grande capital. / Abstract: The purpose of the present work was to analyze the process of formation of Azaléia shoes pole of Itapetinga-BA municipal district. The productive structure and the political implications established in the region were investigated, that is restructured to assist to the interests of the political/economic actors. Field researches were performed by the use of forms applications and interviews to do this work. The information collected in the field researches was analyzed to seek the explanation of the data about the industrial organization once there is a spreading of the productive units, that means the branches/hangars are spatiallyzed around the districts and surrounding the municipal of Itapetinga, that had the pole headquarter placed at the industrial district, that was specifically implanted to assist the needs of the companies placed there whose have the expectative of the generation of ten thousand direct employments. The huge companies mobility such as Azaléia, that has its headquarter established in the most important shoes pole of the country (Bells Valley in Rio Grande do Sul State), occurs because of the benefits granted by the fiscal politics established by states and municipal districts like great fiscal and credits advantages to establish those companies in their territory. On this point the industrial district is structured/modernized to assist the objectives of the great capital. / Mestre
