„Motinų jautrumo korekcijos analizė kūdikių prieraišumo kontekste“ SANTRAUKA Motinos jautrumo kūdikio signalams korekcija – palyginus naujas reiškinys, ypatingai Lietuvoje, tad šiuo tyrimu siekiama panagrinėti intervencijoje dalyvavusių motinų sąveikos su kūdikiais ypatumus, iškelti šiam procesui svarbius klausimus bei problemas, numatyti galimas ateities studijų kryptis. Pirmiausia siekiama panagrinėti motinų jautrumo pokyčius atliekant jautrumo korekciją. Kaip tyrimo problema keliamas klausimas – ar motinos jautrumas gali būti prognostinis kūdikio prieraišumo kokybės rodiklis. Taip pat norima aprašyti tyrime dalyvavusių motinų jautrumo, depresijos simptomų išreikštumo ir kasdienių rūpesčių vertinimo ypatumus bei palyginti jautrumo korekcijoje dalyvavusių ir nedalyvavusių motinų kūdikių prieraišumą. Šiame tyrime dalyvavo 35 motinų ir jų kūdikių poros. Dalis jų, t.y. 11 jautrių savo kūdikių signalams motinų sudarė vieną kontrolinę grupę; kitos – tai 24 mažai jautrios savo 6 mėnesių amžiaus kūdikių signalams motinos, atsitiktinai priskirtos vienai iš kitų dviejų - eksperimentei ar kontrolinei grupėms. Tad 10 iš jų dalyvavo vaizdo grįžtamuoju ryšiu paremtoje trumpalaikėje jautrumo korekcijos programoje, likusios (14) nedalyvavo. Po jautrumo korekcijos buvo įvertinti motinų jautrumo kūdikio signalams pokyčiai (Ainsworth motinos jautrumo skalė), depresijos simptomų išreikštumas (pagal Beck depresijos skalę), suvokiamo kasdienių rūpesčių vertinimo ypatumai (Kasdienių rūpesčių... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / „Mothers' Sensitivity Correction Analysis in the Context of Infants' Attachment“ SUMMARY Maternal sensitivity correction is fairly novel and unexplored field, especially in Lithuania, therefore the aim of this study is to explore mother-infant interaction characteristics after participation in sensitivity correction programme, to highlight important questions and problems, to predict possible directions for future investigations. Also it is sought to analyze maternal sensitivity changes after the correction programme. The problem of this study is a question – can maternal sensitivity be a prognostic indicator of a child attachment security. This study is also ment to describe the peculiarities of maternal sensitivity, expresiveness of depression syptomes, estimation of daily hassles and to compare their child attachment security according to their participation in intervention programme. 35 mother-infant dyads participated in this study. In Western culture, the presence of fathers is expected at labor and birth. The role fathers play during pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum is ambiguous. Paternal and infant attachment are developed during this transition to parenthood. There are many choices and unexpected outcomes but through childbirth education, individuals and families can be empowered to have a satisfying experience, ultimately setting the family up for success. Military individuals and families have unique and often challenging obstacles when it comes to participation in childbirth. Utilizing education developed to address concerns military individuals and families might face can lead to an empowering and satisfying experience, and help family bonds during a deployment. A module was created to bridge the gap in childbirth education, specifically for military families facing deployment. The module was developed to supplement existing childbirth education curriculum and is divided into three subsections: pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum.

Using video-mediated communication to support pregnant couples separated during satogaeri bunben in JapanFurukawa, Ryoko 01 May 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore the use of video-mediated communication (VMC) to support couples separated during classic Satogaeri Bunben. Satogaeri Bunben refers to the Japanese tradition when a pregnant woman leaves her own home to return to her parents' home during the prenatal period, while her husband often stays behind in the couple's house. When a couple geographically live apart during Satogaeri Bunben, it may decrease father-infant attachment and the negatively impact the marital relationship. VMC was selected as the supportive intervention for couples choosing Satogaeri Bunben in this study because: 1) it provides additional visual cues, which are particularly important because Japanese communication is highly contextual and often more nonverbal than verbal, 2) the addition of visual cues allow husbands the opportunity to see their infant, because they cannot talk, and 3) Japan has one of the best broadband systems worldwide. The specific aims were to explore VMC during Satogaeri Bunben in relation to father-infant attachment and the marital relationship and to describe VMC experiences of Japanese couples separated during Satogaeri Bunben. A comparative case study design with a mixed methods approach to data collection and analysis was used. The specific mixed methods approach used was a [QUAL + quan] triangulation-convergence model. For the qualitative data, the primary source of data was the Participant Diary. The primary sources of quantitative data included three instruments: 1) Taiji Kanjyo Hyotei Syakudo (TKHS), 2) Intimate Bond Measure (IBM), and 3) Primary Communication Inventory (PCI). The PCI was translated into Japanese for this study using a committee approach.
Four couples were participated in this study. Data collection for each couple took approximately two to three month to complete. Qualitative data analysis divided the couples in two groups: 1) the engaged group, who were very attentive each other's feelings and 2) the detached group, who were inattentive. The PCI scores further supported the existence of two groups. However, the TKHS and IBM scores were mixed. The limitations included a small sample size and lack of variability in sample characteristics, and short time frame. This study was also the first time to use a newly translated PCI in Japanese. This study successfully explored the use of VMC to support couples choosing Satogaeri Bunben focusing on decreasing the impact of the separation of the couple and later the separation of the husband from his new infant. The qualitative and quantitative findings provided a first glimpse into four couples' feelings and VMC experiences during Satogaeri Bunben, especially in relation to father-infant attachment and the marital relationship. The use of VMC provided ongoing virtual, rather than physical co-presence, which may help couple's communication and relationship during their separation, as they transitioned to parenthood.

Introduction: The study is a qualitative exploration of breastfeeding and maternal touch with new mothers who are survivors of childhood sexual assault (CSA) by a family member. / Objectives: The objective of this study is to explore the experience of breastfeeding in mothers with a past history of CSA perpetrated by a family member. / Methods: Using an interpretive framework, eleven women were interviewed with an in-depth semi-structured method and the transcripts coded and analysed by themes. All participants were new mothers who volunteered in response to a community based advertisement. Each woman self-identified as being sexually abused as a child by a family member. / Results: Significant themes that emerged about breastfeeding were the importance of breastfeeding to the maternal-infant relationship and infant development. Other more challenging themes included detachment and dissociation, exposure and control, lack of pleasure, and splitting of the roles of the breasts into maternal or sexual objects.During the course of the study maternal-infant touch was raised as an important theme associated with body boundaries between the mother and her child and related to the mother’s past CSA experience. Baths and nappy changes were two areas in which some mothers encountered difficulties associated directly with their CSA. Some participants encountered difficulties associated with their healthcare. These were largely associated with the participants’ lack of control in the professional encounter and intimate examinations. Baby examination was also problematic with women reporting being concerned about their ability to protect their children within the professional encounter. / Conclusion: Many participants described breastfeeding as a positive experience which enhanced their bonding to their babies. They faced challenges as CSA survivors due to the duality of the breasts as sexual and maternal objects. Touch and maternal-infant boundaries emerged as important themes after CSA

Training on attachment as part of antenatal programmes : the perceptions of antenatal programme presentersLubbe, Zoe Odette Eloise January 2016 (has links)
Attachment refers to a strong emotional bond with special people in a person?s life, in whose presence the person experiences pleasure, joy and comfort in times of stress. The first attachment in life is commonly formed between an infant and primary caregiver, which is usually the mother. The caregiving provided by the mother or caregiver will determine whether a secure or insecure attachment pattern is formed. Attachment theory indicates that this first attachment forms the basis for a cognitive representation, the so-called internal working model, which becomes part of the person?s personality and forms the foundation of the person?s perception of the self and the world as well as of all future interpersonal relationships.
As infancy is a sensitive period for the development of attachment, the prenatal period could be an appropriate time to educate expecting mothers about the importance of secure attachment and their role in the development thereof. The researcher therefore wished to explore whether antenatal programmes could be used as a platform for teaching expecting mothers about attachment. As a starting point, the goal of this study was to explore the perceptions of antenatal programme presenters on including training on attachment into antenatal programmes.
The study was based on a qualitative research approach, and applied research as the type of research. A collective case study research design was adopted and data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews that were conducted with a sample of ten presenters of antenatal programmes in the Tshwane district. The participants were selected by means of purposive sampling. Data was analysed according to methods for qualitative data analysis, and relevant ethical considerations were followed during the study.
The research findings indicate that the participants were aware of the importance and benefits of secure attachment and that they had a positive attitude towards the inclusion of training on attachment into antenatal programmes. They were eager to receive training on attachment and to adapt their programmes to include training on attachment.
The researcher concludes that it would be feasible and beneficial to include training on attachment into antenatal programmes, and to train antenatal programme presenters for this purpose. The provision of training on attachment to nurses and raising awareness of attachment in the private and public health care sectors could facilitate greater knowledge of attachment for expecting mothers. The possibilities of intervention of mother-infant attachment relationship / Motinos ir kūdikio prieraišumo santykių korekcijos galimybėsKalinauskienė, Lina 16 November 2010 (has links)
The randomized control trial examined the effects of a short-term, interaction focused and attachment-based video-feedback intervention (VIPP, Juffer, Bakermans-Kranenburg, & Van IJzendoorn, 2008) on mothers’ sensitive responsiveness and infant-mother attachment security in a sample (N = 54) of low sensitive, non-clinical, middle class Lithuanian mothers. Maternal sensitivity was assessed in a free play session with the Ainsworth sensitivity scale, and attachment security was observed using the Attachment Q sort for home observations. The long-term intervention effect on children behavior problems was assessed with CBCL. We found that the intervention mothers indeed significantly improved their sensitive responsiveness through participation in the intervention. VIPP enhanced maternal sensitive responsiveness even when maternal age, educational level, daily hassles, efficacy, infant gender, and infant negative and positive affect were controlled for. However, attachment security in the intervention group infants was not enhanced after the intervention, compared to the control infants, and the infants did not seem to differential susceptible to the increase in maternal sensitivity. Experimental, control groups children and sensitive mothers’ children experienced the same level of behavior problems at two years. Factors associated with maternal sensitivity and children behavior problems were analyzed. / Disertacijoje tirtas vaizdo analizės metodu pagrįstos, trumpalaikės, nukreiptos į motinos ir kūdikio sąveiką, prieraišumo santykius koreguojančios intervencijos (VIPP, Juffer, Bakermans-Kranenburg, & Van IJzendoorn, 2008) poveikis motinų jautrumui kūdikio signalams bei kūdikių prieraišumo saugumui. Tiriamieji buvo (N = 54) nepakankamai jautrios kūdikio signalams, klinikinių sutrikimų neturinčios, viduriniosios klasės motinos ir kūdikiai. Motinos jautrumas kūdikio signalams buvo vertinamas klasikine Ainsworth skale pagal nufilmuotą motinos ir kūdikio laisvą žaidimą, o kūdikių prieraišumo saugumas vertintas Waters‘o „Prieraišumo Q-rūšiavimo metodika“ (stebint kūdikį ir motiną namuose). Ilgalaikį dalyvavimo korekcijos programoje poveikį vaikų elgesio sunkumams vertinome CBCL metodika. Nustatyta, kad dalyvavimas korekcijos programoje reikšmingai padidino motinų jautrumą kūdikių signalams, net kai buvo kontroliuojamas motinos amžius, išsilavinimas, kasdienis stresas, saviveiksmingumas, kūdikių lytis ir temperamentas. Kūdikių prieraišumo saugumas eksperimentinėje grupėje nepadidėjo, kai eksperimentinės grupės tiriamieji baigė dalyvauti programoje, lyginant su kontroline grupe. Aukštesniu ir žemesniu neigiamu emocionalumu pasižymintys kūdikiai gavo tiek pat naudos iš dalyvavimo programoje.
