Knowledge discovery in text documents is part of data mining. However, text documents have different properties in comparison to regular databases. This project contains an overview of methods for knowledge discovery in text documents. The most frequently used task in this area is document classification. Various approaches for text classification will be described. Finally, I will present algorithm Winnow that should perform better than any other algorithm for classification. There is a description of Winnow implementation and an overview of experimental results.

Diploma thesis deals with the assessment of information system in Unicorn Systems a.s. and proposal for ICT modification. One part of this thesis, are theoretical assumptions that help better understand the issues of information systems. On the basis of the results of analyzes, appropriate measures will be proposed to improve of information system. The thesis includes economic evaluation for the implementation of modification proposal.

The diploma thesis deals with the creation of map bases in the northern part of the Metra areal in Blansko in the form of a thematic map in a scale 1:250. Descriptive information for each element has been added to the map. The thesis describes in detail the process of creating a measuring network, detailed survey, calculations, testing accuracy and creation of a thematic map including descriptive information.

The diploma thesis deals with planimetric and altimetry determination of the area Metro company in Blansko , its southern part. The content of the thesis is a detailed description of the schedule, survey section, calculations, graphic processing in the GEOSTORE V6® program, description information connection. The result is a printed 1: 250 scale maps in the S-JTSK coordinate system and the Bpv elevation system.

Information and communication technologies constitute a substantial part of today's world. Growing informatization, i.e. implementation of these technologies, in all areas of human activities generates a need to reflect upon their influence on man and society. The significance of this intellectual endeavor is accentuated by the very nature of these technologies. Since they are inserted between individuals in acts of mutual communication their application impacts on information processes within the frame of human societies. This factor takes effect everywhere, no less in the economic environment. In consequence of recent events which gave rise to a financial meltdown at first and an economic crisis later, the necessity to inquire into the effect of informatization on the domain of arrangement of economic relationships acquires its sense of urgency. At present, however, there is a significant gap between the theoretical framework which man uses to intellectually embrace these phenomena and the application of the technologies in question in which a disproportionately greater amount of resources are being invested. Therefore our capability of capturing in our train of thought the changes in the socioeconomic environment of today caused by informatization lags behind the very speed and dynamics of the changes. For that reason, the objective of this diploma thesis is to create a methodological-phenomenological framework for deliberation on the influence of information and communication technologies on the globalizing economy. The fundamental attribute which induces far-reaching transmutations in this field is the virtualization potential that the modern, symbolic and highly interactive forms of these technologies have obtained. As they began to be implemented in the frame of the arrangement of economic relationships, they impinged on a domain whose inner dynamism has already split into two components -- virtual and real -- by the symbol of value -- money. Another layer of virtualization related to the information and communication technologies as such therefore transforms the economy into a much more complex whole, the research of which poses an intellectual challenge as well as a necessity as the changing character of the globalizing economy shelters many pitfalls. This thesis offers theoretical points of departure for grasping the issues in question.

The thesis is focused on some questions stemming from the limitations of the right to free access to information in connection with the implementation of classified information protection in the context of activities of state security organizations. The basic legislation covering this area has been summarized. Further, the thesis explores theoretical as well as practical procedures and principles aimed at minimization of both real and potential threats to individual rights and basic principles of the open society in cases of performance of such sorts of limitations. Besides, some examples of the solutions carried out in certain countries and in addition several decisions of the European Court on Human Rights are mentioned. Finally, the contemporary status of the matter in the Czech Republic is examined.

Health literacy represents the cognitive and social skills which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to gain access to, understand and use information in ways which promote and maintain good health, according to WHO. Common health literacy level may be sufficient in the case of smooth pregnancy and natural childbirth. However, if there are some health problems, it is necessary to support an increase in health literacy level of mothers. Main objective of this thesis is to describe the objective health literacy level of mothers with premature baby and to identify areas that are for these mothers most problematic. The theoretical part deals with demographic data related to premature births, the basic definition of prematurity, an essential characteristic of neonatology and organization of care, premature baby, the most common medical complications and prognosis. Although these days, we can perceive the right for environmental information as something automated and quite natural in a democratic society, we must realize that it was far from it in the past. Hand in hand with the principle of secretiveness of state administration, the public had virtually no possibility to obtain information concerning not only the state of the environment but also general information concerning almost anything. It is not surprising after all because before 1989, neither the general right for information nor the right for environmental information were protected by law, less alone by the constitution. Nevertheless, the democratic changes which took place after the Velvet Revolution produced changes also in the field of the right for information and this right was, both generally - as a right for information, and specifically - as a right for environmental information, included in the legal regulation of the greatest legal force, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, which became a part of the constitutional order of the Czech Republic on the basis of the resolution of the Czech National Council presidium No. 2/1993 Coll. Thesis entitled "The issue of institutional care for the elderly with Alzheimer's disease" includes information about different types of dementia, charts the current situation in the Czech Republic and in the world, characterized fundamental questions of social policy and presents some methods of non-pharmacological treatment. The research analyzes the conditions of life of seniors with Alzheimer's disease who live in different types of institutions. It also focuses on family members. For compact view on the topic contribute opinions of experts from relevant institutions. Aim of this study is to describe and compare the system of care in individual and institutional facilities using statistical information to point to the timeliness issue.

The diploma thesis summarizes the history of the insurance industry in the world with a detailed focus on the Czech Republic. The thesis continues to discuss the situation on insurance markets in the last twenty years. It is described how insurance companies deal with natural disasters and a new type of risk - terorism.
