Rusko jako rostoucí moc v multilaterálních institucích / Russia as a rising power in multilateral institutions

Ananyeva, Ekaterina January 2020 (has links)
Russia as a rising power in multilateral institutions looks at the Russian attitude towards all institutions this country participated in 2001-2015. I address the questions of what is the attitude of Moscow and what determines the country's choice of attitude patterns. Drawing from the works of those specializing in rising powers and Russian foreign policy, I seek answers to my research questions and contribute to both strings of literature. The parsimonious hypothesis suggests that Russia's attitude depends on its position within the institution. In cases when Moscow holds a strong position in an institution, the country develops a supportive attitude; Russia's weak position within an institution translates into a challenger attitude. I endorse the existing studies by arguing and further supporting with data that Russia tends to be a revisionist in West-led hard-issue institutions it joined after the end of the Cold War. The data points at the supportive attitude pattern also in situations when Russia holds a strong position in institutions it co-founded as a rising power status in the last two decades. The primary data source for the dissertation is the recently released online archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Analyzed with the sentiment analysis software, the...

Změny v distribuci příjmů v USA a dekompozice Giniho koeficientu

Roček, Tomáš January 2017 (has links)
Roček, T. Changes in income distribution in the USA and decomposition of Gini coefficient. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2016. Since the 80s of the last century, the United States has seen a considerable income inequality growth. This diploma thesis analyses the influence of individual income sources on determination of inequality, esteems their significance and formulates instruments that the government can use to affect these sources. This diploma thesis contains decomposition of Gini coefficient. This decomposition revealed, that the source, which is the most important determinant of the total income ine-quality are salaries and wages. Sales of assets contributed the most to the rise of inequality in the analysed period from 2000 to 2014. This income source also has the highest potential for further growth of income inequality. Discussion part, which follows, contains the debate about the main causes of this progression and the relevance of researching the income inequality issue. Based on the approach used in this diploma thesis, it is possible to decompose the Gini coefficient in any state or region, and to explore the inequality determinants in this way. This thesis also offers a comprehensive view on the whole issue.

Mediální obraz transformace systému péče o ohrožené děti / Media Image of Tranformation of the System of Care for Vulnerable Children

Pokorná, Lucie January 2013 (has links)
My thesis, "The Transformation of the Media-Image for Children's Systems of Care" analyzes the system of care for vulnerable children in the Czech Republic, specifically how Act. No 359/1999 Coll. transforms the the socio-legal protection of children. The amendment aims to reform services inthe area of preventive action: the legislation prioritizes the family as the best environment for the child. Under this amendment, a child is placed in institutional care only as a last resort. Additionally, the amendment also professionalizes and standardizes the social-legal protection of children. Transforming a bureaucratic system is always a political process in which different actors are involved, who aim to implement new policies promoting their best interests. The aim of this paper is to describe the image of Czech households in the media depicted by policy actors, and how these images consequently transformed the system of care for vulnerable children. For this purpose, content analysis of media communication, ranging from print media, television networks, radio stations, and websites, and the other complementary methods were applied. The theoretical anchors are grounded in foundational concepts of public policy (public policy network theory) and media sciences (agenda setting theory of media...

Hledání současné výchovy / Searching for Today's Education

Fajfr, Marek January 2013 (has links)
The thesis "Searching for today's education" deals with a dynamic relationship between contemporary postmodern society and school institution, which is the heritage of modern period. This relationship is conceived in two different ways: theoretically by the approach of postmodern philosophy (represented here by the interpretation of works by Jean-Francois Lyotard, Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida and Roland Barthes) and practically by the evaluation of high-school seminar Understanding contemporary situation that has been held for last year students of a grammar school in Prague. After the introduction and overview of past discussion on this topic the analysis of three basic values of modern school on the concept of indoctrination and neutrality were offered. Those values are education for the truth, education for the freedom and civic education. At the same time a certain tension between the truth and freedom on one hand and the civic education on the other hand occurs. In the next chapter I try to characterize contemporary society by plurality (de/legitimisation, fragmentarisation), relativising relationship to the reality (virtualisation, technologisation, medialisation), and problematising of the subject (problem of identity and marginalisation). In the main part of the thesis I interpret the...

Organizačně-kybernetický přístup k mezinárodním institucím / The Organizational-Cybernetic Approach to International Institutions

Parízek, Michal January 2013 (has links)
The Organizational-Cybernetic Approach to International Institutions Michal Parízek Abstract of the dissertation One of the key tasks of the institutionalist research in international relations should be to explore how the functioning of international institutions can be enhanced through alterations of their design, where design is understood as the only factor that can have a direct causal effect on the institutions' functioning and that, at the same time, is at least in principle amenable to conscious manipulation. The task of this dissertation is to elaborate on whether this can be at all done and, if yes, how exactly and under what conditions. To deal with these problems, I present what is best labelled as the organizational-cybernetic approach, a theoretical and conceptual framework based on insights from the field of organizational cybernetics. Building on the organizational-cybernetic framework, I outline the concept of information transmission capacity as the right dependent variable for the study of how design impacts on functioning of institutions. Subsequently I present the viable system model, an organizational- cybernetic model that identifies on a general level all the key information channels necessary for viability of any governance scheme. Using this approach, we can proceed in the...
