Comparison of American and Czech financial system followed by analyses and investment strategy for selected institutions.

The aim of the thesis is to analyze institutional prerequisites for the process of Czechoslovak transformation in the beginning of 1990's. Using the standard theoretical framework of institutional economics and Svetozar Pejovich's interaction thesis shows the transformation process as a part of continuous institutional evolution. The analysis of institutional environment is aimed on the activity of organizations which are seen as a source of institutional change and the pressure from the exogenous institutional framework. Long-run development of endogenous institutions shows the creation of collectivist structure of Czech society. This fact, combined with the process of creation of secondary laws, shows the inappropriately chosen strategy of transformation.

The dissertation focuses on different institutional models of financial regulation. It aims to ascertain whether any of the institutional models responds better to the current nature of financial markets.

Concern of this thesis is a topic of an IT audit on financial institutions. These institutions are subject to severe regulations and considering their purpose -- to provide financial services, it has to be maintained unconditional security of both their information system and data. Therefore, financial institutions belong to the group of the most common customers of IT audit services. Opening part is dedicated to the relationship between financial audit and IT audit. Their history is described until present days. Both local and international contemporary legislation is also described. Then the COBIT methodology is introduced as main methodology concerning IT auditing. Finally, conclusions about relationship between financial audit and IT audit are presented. Following part of this thesis introduce essential requirements on financial institutions controls that are specific for this sector. There are several kinds of assurances and audit is only one of them, so the following part is dedicated to the introduction of each kind with description of their specifics. In the last, practical, part the IT audit checklist for financial institutions is worked out.

Diplomová práce Pavel Novák, 2012 Abstrakt anglicky This work deals with institutional structure and processes of the European Union which operate in foreign missions of this international organization under Common Security and Defence Policy. On the basis of functional analysis of institutions there are described relevant institutions and theirs codified processes. Practical exercise is analyzed on chosen sample of two military operations and two civilian missions. Conclusion is drawn from founded problems of institutional character.

Homelessness represents a most serious challenge for current cities and their administrations across the globe. Despite this fact, it is surprising that the topic of homelessness from the perspective of institutions has been so understudied so far [e. g. Temelová, Jana et al. 2015]. This paper will focus on the conceptualization of homelessness by institutions. It will try to describe how the institutions, which are dealing with homelessness, conceptualize it and see if the conceptualization occurs in the practice of social service providers. There are three main research questions: (1) how do institutions conceptualize homelessness?, (2) do the conceptualizations change over time and if they do how ? (e. g. under the influence of the "ETHOS" European definition (FEANTSA 2005)), (3) how is the individualizing neoliberal project manifested in this? For answering the questions I will use a qualitative research methodology - semi-structured interviews with representatives of institutions, which will be supplemented by networks mapping and structured literature search of conceptual, methodological and strategic documents, which will first be deductively and then inductively analyzed with using MAXQDA program.

In my master thesis, I am analyzing resolution processes in selected banks of the European Union (EU) in the concept of a banking union. Theoretical part of my thesis describes reasons for changes in the regulation of the financial sector. Then, I am also dealing with banking union and its individual stages, the need for a common fiscal support as entering reasons into banking union and stepwise involvement of burden sharing with its impact to the resolution funding in the banking union. I describe a single resolution mechanism, methods of its implementation, management and operations in different countries of the European Union. In practical part is by process analysis of selected insolvent banks identified level of compliance of resolution rules and by using comparative methods are identified differences in recovery processes of selected institutions. By synthesis are assessed effects of single resolution mechanism in the EU.

Diploma thesis focuses on chosen political and institutional factors and their rela-tion to long-run growth in post-soviet countries. Political and institutional environment represents three areas: bureaucracy (Doing Business), freedom (Free-dom House) and governance matters. For quantification of their influence is used static and dynamic panel data analysis. Results show the importance of govern-ance matters for long-run growth. Political stability, quality of political process and civil liberties also have positive impact while voice and accountability has negative. In view of the fact that results come from static panel data models, we cannot exclude the presence of endogeneity.

This thesis studies the relationship between the informal institutions represented by religiousness, the way of understanding religion, the control over life and the preferences for income redistribution by state. Influence of informal institutions on preferences for income redistribution was confirmed by using multinomial logistic regression, contingency table, as well as cluster analysis. Results from empirical analysis suggest a polarization of religious people into those with positive preferences and those with negative preferences towards income redistribution. Most of the recent studies that were geographically defined claimed a rather negative preferences of religious people towards income redistribution by the state. Understanding religion as following norms and ceremonies, as well as high perception of life control lead to rather negative preferences towards income redistribution. Slavíček, M. Convergence of the sector financial corporations in the European Union countries. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2020. The diploma thesis deals with the possible convergence between the years 2004–2018 within the sector account of a financial corporations (defined by the ESA 2010 methodology) across the countries of the European Union, with an emphasis on Central European countries. The stated goal of the work was fulfilled by selecting suitable indicators that were used for the creation of cluster analysis and for calculating the standard deviations in the indicators. More specifically, these are indicators dealing with financial transactions (F.1–F.8), credit market concentration, number of credit institutions, number of employees in credit institutions and premiums written. However, the empirical results of the work did not prove or refute financial convergence across EU countries, as the clusters have changed over the years and even the development in standard deviations did not indicate demonstrable convergence.
