Integrační kurzy: poslední etapa švédského úsilí o začlenění přistěhovalců / Integration Courses: Last Stage of Swedish Efforts to Incorporate Immigrants

Pokorný, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis Integration Courses: Last Stage of Swedish Efforts to Incorporate Immigrants analyzes integration arrangements in the context of the evolution of Swedish integration policies. Through theoretical models of incorporation the author argues that use of these courses is a consequence of various factors with a lack of immigrants' incorporation and increasing welfare state activation as the most significant. The process of welfare state activation does not focus exclusively on the immigrants, nevertheless, in the policy area of immigrant integration some of the activation features are most visible. The modern state delegates much more duties on individuals who can not rely on its protecting hands as they were used to earlier. As the state requires more from all its citizens, immigrants are expected to strive for their integration more pro-actively. The participation in the integration courses belongs to one of the duties the immigrants must accept. The Swedish approach is, however, a bit specific, since the courses' participation is not mandatory for all immigrants but a targeted group of newcomers. Moreover, the courses differ considerably from the general tendency in Western Europe with their stressed focus on labour-market related integration measures. Together with a language...

Srovnání integrační politiky vůči imigrantům v Austrálii a na Novém Zélandu / Comparison of immigrant integration policies in Australia and New Zealand

Svetlíková, Monika January 2014 (has links)

In vogue and versatile: the spread of the civic integration policies to Italy

Testore, Gaia 30 March 2015 (has links)
Since the end of 1990s, a growing number of countries in Europe have introduced a new kind of integration measures, the so-called civic integration policies.
Formulated for the first time in the Netherlands in order to deal with the persistence of integration difficulties and the social cohesion concerns, these policies demand migrants to fulfill mandatory integration requirements in order to obtain the residence permit, its renewal, or the citizenship.
Among the other countries, Italy introduced a similar policy in 2009, the Integration Agreement (IA). The Italian example appears particular interesting, since this country looked like the less probable one that could choose a similar solution.
Examining the dynamics behind the adoption of the IA represents, therefore, a valuable opportunity not only to understand the Italian case, but also to highlight the mechanisms that have facilitated the diffusion of these policies in Europe.
The research highlights two main aspects. On the one hand, several politicians in different countries have proposed these solutions because they represent quite useful political resources in dealing with the “democratic impatience” of our political systems (Vermeulen and Penninx 1994). On the other hand, the building up of the EU and the growing interconnections of the national policy communities in this policy sector have played an indirect but not residual role in facilitating the convergence of the European countries towards similar solutions.

Niang, Abdou-Aziz 14 June 2011 (has links)
During the recent years, african countries in the CFA zone have experienced many economic changes on the one hand through the measures initiated by bilateral and multilateral donors and on the other hand through the economic and monetary integration policies. Thus, relying on the assumption that because of these interventions, the economic systems incorporate various phenomena such as structural change and economic interdependencies, we studied their major implications on growth, convergence and growth predictability. Emphasis is first placed on the major features of integration policies in a monetary union, while stressing the possible implications of such policies on the economic dynamics of member countries mainly in terms of econometric modelling of growth and convergence. The different studies conducted on the basis of appropriate econometric tools led to new results concerning the process of growth and convergence of these economies compared to those based on standard tools of econometric modelling. It is also clear from this study that the presence of common factors and structural breaks is strongly linked to integration policies implemented in the CFA zone. These results also indicate that shocks produce heterogeneous effects on economies with various dates of occurrence and that it is necessary to vary the policy responses from one country to another for sustainable and shared growth.
