Návrh rekonstrukce ulice Gorkého v Brně / Reconstruction design of Gorkého Street in Brno

The aim of this diploma thesis is the elaboration of a technical study of Gorkého Street in Brno - Veveří. In the diploma thesis, three variants of situations will be elaborated, which will focus on several different criteria. Variant 1st. focuses primarily on cyclists, a dedicated bike lane and a parking space with sloping and longitudinal layouts. In variant 2nd. is the effort to preserve the existing width arrangement, the original street greenery is preserved. The parking spaces are perpendicular and cycling is covered by a pictogram. Variant 3rd. is primarily concerned with the number of parking spaces. Variant 2nd. was selected for detailed development. The street will be completely reconstructed due to the construction of sewerage and water supply. All construction modifications are designed according to valid standards and regulations.

The electrical motors parameters identification is solved in this master’s thesis using subspace based methods. Electrical motors are simulated in Matlab/Simulink interactive environment, specifically permanent magnet DC motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor. Identification is developed in Matlab interactive environment. Different types of subspace algorithms are used for the estimation of parameters. Results of subspace parameters estimation are compared with least squares parameters estimation. The thesis describes subspace method, types of subspace algorithms, used electrical motors, nonlinear approach of identification and comparation of parameters identification.

This diploma thesis deals with the phases measuring deformation of the bridge construction and railway superstructure on the bridge over the river Dyje in Breclav and its surroundings. The main goal was to determine the longitudinal displacements of the rail web and the bridge structure. The object of this thesis was also transverse displacements which have been caused mainly due to temperature changes. The introduction describes the location. The following section discusses the methodology terrestrial deformation measurements and calibrations selected surveying devices. Furthermore, there is stated the processing of measurements and the calculations. In conclusion, the thesis evaluates the longitudinal and transverse displacements, which are shown in the annexes.

The subject of my Master’s thesis is the variant redevelopment of intersections I/56 and II/469 in Hlučín. Both interesections are situated nearby bus terminal. Extent of adjustment obstructs the object of former granary. There are checked spatial options for adjusting both existing intersections to the roundabouts. In the frame of variants, there is a different manner of solution of structural layout of both intersections, possibility of connection of bus terminal and transfer of pedestrian traffic across designed intersections. Part of Master’s thesis is traffic survey and capacity analysis of designed intersections.

Raytracing is a basic technique for displaying 3D objects. The goal of this thesis is to demonstrate the possibility of implementing raytracer using a programmable GPU. The algorithm and its modified version, implemented using "C for CUDA" language, are described. The raytracer is focused on displaying dynamic scenes. For this purpose the KD tree structure, bounding volume hierarchies and PBO transfer are used. To achieve realistic output, photon mapping was implemented.

The thesis in form of study discusses the possibilities of modernization of road I/11 in section between Opava and Bruntál. The need of modernization comes from fact that the road I/11 will remain in mid-term and long-term in its actual tracing and it needs to be adjusted to up-to-date requirements on road network. The thesis is based on safety inspection of road I/11 that was carried out by company Enviroad s.r.o. Proposed adjustments are divided into three stages depending on structural, economic and administrative demands. First stage introduces the least difficult adjustments that can be realized in short-term (e.g. chicanes, traffic islands, shortening of pedestrian crossings, adjustments to bus stops) and aims primary to increase road safety. Second stage presents more severe adjustments that requires greater amount of construction works but still reasonable administration level so it can be achieved in mid-term (e.g. intersection realignment, slow traffic lanes). The third stage introduces the most complex adjustments, that involves complicated administrative and construction works (all relocations of greater scale, design is based upon territorial reserves).

Abelianization and Floer homology of Lagrangians in clean intersection

This thesis is split up into two parts each revolving around Floer homology and quantum cohomology of closed monotone symplectic manifolds. In the first part we consider symplectic manifolds obtained by symplectic reduction. Our main result is that a quantum version of an abelianization formula of Martin holds, which relates the quantum cohomologies of symplectic quotients by a group and by its maximal torus. Also we show a quantum version of the Leray-Hirsch theorem for Floer homology of Lagrangian intersections in the quotient. The second part is devoted to Floer homology of a pair of monotone Lagrangian submanifolds in clean intersection. Under these assumptions the symplectic action functional is degenerated. Nevertheless Frauenfelder defines a version of Floer homology, which is in a certain sense an infinite dimensional analogon of Morse-Bott homology. Via natural filtrations on the chain level we were able to define two spectral sequences which serve as a tool to compute Floer homology. We show how these are used to obtain new intersection results for simply connected Lagrangians in the product of two complex projective spaces. The link between both parts is that in the background the same technical methods are applied; namely the theory of holomorphic strips with boundary on Lagrangians in clean intersection. Fadenmoduln über Ãn und Cluster-Kombinatorik / String modules over Ãn and cluster combinatorics

Inspired by work of Hubery [Hub] and Fomin, Shapiro and Thurston [FST06] related to cluster algebras, we construct a bijection between certain curves on a cylinder and the string modules over a path algebra of type Ãn. We show that under this bijection irreducible maps and the Auslander-Reiten translation have a geometric interpretation. Furthermore we prove that the dimension of extension groups can be expressed in terms of intersection numbers. Finally we explain the connection to cluster algebras and apply our results to describe the exchange graph in type Ãn. / Angeregt durch Arbeiten zu Cluster-Algebren von Hubery [Hub] und Fomin, Shapiro und Thurston [FST06] konstruieren wir eine Bijektion zwischen gewissen Kurven auf einem Zylinder und den Fadenmoduln über einer Wege-Algebra vom Typ Ãn. Wir zeigen, daß unter dieser Bijektion sowohl irreduzible Abbildungen als auch die Auslander-Reiten-Verschiebung eine geometrische Interpretation haben. Weiterhin beweisen wir, daß sich die Dimension der Erweiterungsgruppen mittels Anzahlen von Schnittpunkten ausdrücken läßt. Schließlich erklären wir die Verbindung zu Cluster-Algebren und verwenden unsere Ergebnisse um den Austauschgraph im Typ Ãn zu beschreiben.

Abstract: The main goal of the thesis is to investigate the impact of urban geometry on the urban ventilation using wind-tunnel modelling. To measure the pollutant transport, both advective and turbulent, within complex urban geometries with a high temporal resolution a special measurement method was developed. At first, the pollution of a simplified urban area was simulated by a ground-level point source and the ventilation of the intersection with respect to four wind directions was studied. Later, the pollution of other simplified and complex urban areas was simulated by a ground-level line source and the ventilation of three different street canyons with respect to wind direction perpendicular and oblique to their along-canyon axis was investigated. The clear impact of urban complexity and wind direction on street canyon ventilation is demonstrated at lateral and top openings of all investigated canyons and the intersection. Neue Ansätze zur Nutzung von Induktionsschleifen-Daten an Lichtsignalanlagen: Minimierung von Fahrzeughalten und Schätzung von Kfz-Wartezeiten

Die vorliegende Dissertationsschrift widmet sich zwei Zielen: Mittels Induktionsschleifen-Detektoren einerseits die Verkehrsregelung an Knotenpunkten durch die Minimierung von Fahrzeughalten zu verbessern, und andererseits eine Veränderung der Verkehrsqualität durch die Schätzung von Kfz-Wartezeiten automatisiert zu erheben. Im ersten Teil wird ein modellbasiertes Steuerverfahren entwickelt, das Grünzeiten verkehrsabhängig und lokal anpasst. Es kann sehr gut in eine übergeordnete Steuerung zur Koordinierung in Verkehrsnetzen eingebunden werden und überlässt dieser die Optimierung von Phasenfolgen, Umlauf- und Versatzzeiten. Um auch bei hohen Auslastungen Kapazitäten bestmöglich zu nutzen, priorisiert es zunächst die Leerung von Warteschlangen. Anschließend erfolgt die Anpassung der Grünzeiten zwischen einer minimalen und maximalen Dauer so, dass Fahrzeughalte minimiert werden. Dafür werden Detektoren in ausreichender Entfernung im Zufluss einer Kreuzung verwendet, um Fahrzeugankünfte an der Haltelinie für die aktuelle und die nächste Phase zu prognostizieren. Bei der sich anschließenden Bilanzierung potenzieller Fahrzeughalte und der Wahl des günstigsten Umschaltzeitpunktes kann auf zusätzliche Modellannahmen verzichtet werden. Die Simulationsergebnisse zeigen, dass bei einer Minimierung der Fahrzeughalte gleichzeitig eine Reduktion von Wartezeiten möglich ist. Im zweiten Teil werden Kfz-Wartezeiten auf Basis der meist bereits vorhandenen Induktionsschleifen-Detektoren im Zufluss und im Abfluss einer Kreuzung geschätzt. Dafür werden die Zeitpunkte der Fahrzeugüberfahrten an einem Zufluss- und einem Abflussquerschnitt getrennt gemessen werden. Aus ihnen wird jeweils ein mittlerer Überfahrzeitpunkt ermittelt und nach Berücksichtigung der freien Fahrzeit eine mittlere Wartezeit geschätzt. Messintervalle an beiden Querschnitten, die um die mittlere freie Fahrzeit versetzt sind, sowie eine unbedingte Warteschlangenleerung am Ende einer Messung sollen sicherstellen, dass potenziell dieselben Fahrzeuge erfasst werden. Auf eine Fahrzeugwiedererkennung und damit auf eine Ausrüstung mit zusätzlicher Technik kann dadurch verzichtet werden. Damit sich das Verfahren für den Praxiseinsatz eignet, muss es möglichst robust gegenüber zufälligen Detektorfehlern sein. Dafür wird ein Fehlermodell entwickelt und mögliche Abweichungen gegenüber einer korrekten Messung untersucht. Aufgrund der unabhängigen Berechnung von mittleren Überfahrzeiten aus der getrennten Messung im Zufluss und im Abfluss zeigt sich, dass zufällige Fehler nicht zu systematischen Abweichungen in der Wartezeitschätzung führen.
