Riva Camino, Fernando 19 May 2014 (has links)
Tesis

Dom Sebastião antes do sebastianismo: pensamento político português humanista no De Regis Institutione et Disciplina de Jeronimo Osório / Dom Sebastião before of the Sebastianismo: political thought portuguese humanist in De Regis Institutione et Disciplina de Jeronimo Osório

Santos, Yona dos 03 March 2009 (has links)
Based in a work written in 1572, the De Regis Institutione et Disciplina, and in a historic and politic context that is decisive to the Avis Dynasty, we refer here to the second period of the 16th century. This works objective is to plan the humanist political thought of Jeronimo Osório. By the purpose that the historic facts will not be just an illustration, but a meeting with political ideas, first of all we will discuss about how Osório thought about some point that determined the reign of Dom Sebastião, as for example, the battle in Alcácer Quibir, the need of the kings marriage and his education, which the priest Gonçalvez da Câmara was responsible. Secondly, we will plan his political though, talking about themes like the kings function and the best governing form and the actions of the kings adulators. In the pedagogy and political relation, we will plan the Christian princes model, concerning the princes mirror, by subjects which were necessary to the kings education.

Cenozoic evolution of a fragmented foreland basin, Altiplano plateau, southern Peru

Fitch, Justin David 14 November 2013 (has links)
Debate persists on the timing, magnitude and style of crustal shortening, uplift and basin evolution in the Andes. Many studies suggest that the central Andes, including the Altiplano plateau, were gradually uplifted as a result of protracted Cenozoic retroarc shortening. However, recent isotopic studies conclude that the Andes instead rose in pulses, with the most significant event occurring at 10-6 Ma. Many researchers attribute these rapid pulses of uplift to lower lithosphere delamination events. A better understanding of the history of Cenozoic crustal shortening is essential for determination of the mechanism(s) of Andean uplift. The well-exposed Cenozoic San Jerónimo Group was studied in the Ayaviri basin of the northern Altiplano in southern Peru. The 3-5 km-thick succession is situated at 3900-4800 m elevation, between the Western Cordillera magmatic arc and the Eastern Cordillera fold-thrust-belt. New detrital zircon U-Pb geochronological results from four sandstones and one reworked tuff in the San Jerónimo succession show large age populations indicative of syndepositional volcanism between approximately 38 and 27 Ma. A 1600-m-thick magnetostratigraphic section further constrains the depositional timing and accumulation rate of the upper portion of the succession. Sedimentological observations show a rapid transition from cross-stratified braided-fluvial sandstones to proximal channel-fill and alluvial-fan conglomerates at ~30 Ma. Paleocurrent measurements show important temporal and spatial variations in sediment dispersal patterns while conglomerate clast counts show an upsection transition from almost exclusively volcanic input to increasing contributions of clastic, quartzite, and limestone detritus. The corresponding shifts in depositional environment and sediment provenance are attributed to the activation of new thrust structures in close proximity to the basin, namely the Pucapuca-Sorapata fault system, indicating the presence of an eastward advancing fold-thrust belt dating to at least 38 Ma and reaching the Ayaviri basin within the northern Altiplano plateau at ~30 Ma. / text

Egoavil Ríos, Jean Christian 02 June 2022 (has links)

Plagnard, Aude 04 December 2015 (has links)
Can we read Spanish and Portuguese epic poetry independently of each other? This study demonstrates that between 1569 and 1589 the Spaniard Alonso de Ercilla and the Portuguese Jerónimo Corte-Real published a series of epic poems through which emerged a common and original practice of the genre. Closely linked to Camões’ Lusiadas (1572), they form a shared epic model built on an intertextual poetic practice. Read throughout the Iberian peninsula, this Spanish and Portuguese epic demonstrates its readers’ interest for the subjects based on recent history. Compared to the chronicles it reveals a formal mimesis through which verse history is authorized by some formal imitations of prose history. Nevertheless, by choosing epic poetry, poets link these narratives to the treatment of war and military conflicts during the long history of the genre. As epic poets since Homer, these modern poets unveil the deep changes that occurred during the Spanish and Portuguese colonial expansion and the union of the two crowns in 1580. Because they deal with current events in modern Iberia, the poets are placed in a competitive situation, coded in the text, in the imitation of common poetic models –Latin, mostly– and in the use of some typical epic motives. Through working on the same motives and dialoguing from one text to another, Ercilla, Corte Real and Camões invent, over the course of two decades, a narrative Iberian pattern that breaks with the Orlando furioso tradition before Tasso’s model became preponderant in the peninsula.
