Experimenty podporující výuku termodynamiky na středoškolské úrovni / Experiments supporting the teaching of thermodynamics at high school level

Kácovský, Petr January 2016 (has links)
Title: Experiments supporting the teaching of thermodynamics at high school level Author: Petr Kácovský Department: Department of Physics Education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Zdeněk Drozd, Ph.D., Department of Physics Education Abstract: This doctoral thesis is aimed at chosen aspects of teaching of thermodynamics on high school. The thesis can be divided into two main parts: The research part deals with investigation of typical students' conceptual difficulties in the field of thermal phenomena and its primary goal is to identify the most distinctive misconceptions of observed population. More than 500 students were questioned using a conceptual test both as pretest and posttest; approximately half of them also participated in the retention test which took part two years after pretest. The results of the conceptual test are connected with data obtained on the basis of the simultaneously conducted research of students' attitudes. The developmental part of the thesis - partly inspired by previous misconception research - deals with arranging, documentation and testing of experiments relevant to teaching of thermodynamics. In total, 46 experiments were arranged, students-tested and published in the electronic Collection of Physics Experiments. These experiments are primarily intended for teachers as inspiration...

Experimentální zkoumání anodové oblasti hybridního plazmového hořáku s vodně-plynnou stabilizací DC oblouku. / Experimental Investigation of the Anode Area in the Hybrid Water-Gas DC Arc Plasma Torch

Ondáč, Peter January 2020 (has links)
This thesis focuses on an experimental study of the anode area of the hybrid water- gas DC arc plasma torch that is used in many industrial applications, including plasma spraying, hydrocarbon reforming, pyrolysis, and organic waste gasification. The effects of ambient pressure and plasma generation conditions on the torch's plasma jet were studied, with particular focus on the torch's anode area. Movement of the anode arc attachment is described in detail, including its speed, range of its motion on the anode surface, restrike periods, and the frequency of its many sudden decelerations and re-accelerations. It was found that the anode erosion can be compared relatively simply by quick processing of high-speed camera videos. The anode erosion was also measured directly. Many electric probe measurements were made in the anode area of this plasma torch for the first time. By using these electric probes, shock waves, turbulent vortices, and plasma potential fluctuations were studied directly. It was found that a mean plasma electric field and a mean plasma electrical conductivity in the anode area can be satisfactorily estimated also non-intrusively by quick processing of high-speed camera videos. Moreover, schlieren videos of the plasma jet in the anode area were created. 1

Effizienter Einsatz von Bildsensoren mit integrierter Signalverarbeitung

Reichel, Peter 09 August 2017 (has links)

Identifiering och Utnyttjande av Sårbarheter hos en IP-Kamera / Identification and Exploitation of Vulnerabilities in an IP-Camera

Fjellborg, Joakim January 2021 (has links)
Today systems such as cameras or fridges with the capability of being connected to the internet and communicating without human intervention are becoming increasingly common, so called IoT-systems. A system being connected to the internet means that the system’s attack surface is increased, and the system can, if infected, be used by the attacker to communicate with the outside world to perform denial-of-service- or other types of attacks. This thesis examines the security of an internet connected security camera, (IP-camera). The aim is to identify vulnerabilities in the system, and if possible to develop attacks that exploit these vulnerabilities in the goal of evaluating the security of the system. The results show that the system is vulnerable to some attacks, mainly including man-in-the-middle aswell as cross-site-request-forgery based attacks.

An investigation into the spectral transfer function and characterization of a terrestrial solar-blind ultraviolet electro-optical system

Coetzer, Casper Johannes January 2015 (has links)
Solar-blind Ultraviolet cameras are used to detect missile plumes and perform the detection of corona on high voltage electrical lines. This study investigates the influence of the spectral transfer function of a specific solar-blind Ultraviolet camera upon Ultraviolet energy measurement results. In addition to the spectral transfer response investigated, is the influence of other related factors, including the specific camera operation and design. The possibility that the particular camera‟s measurements are being influenced by its own spectral transfer function, is initially investigated by using a simplified model. The objective of the model was to determine if the hypothesis is possible. In addition to the spectral transfer function of the camera, other factors that could influence camera measurements were also investigated in the literature. Included are highlights from other research conducted utilising this type of camera for high voltage electrical purposes, as well as comments for further research. Subsequently experiments were executed to characterise the camera, including the determination of the spectral transfer function of the specific camera, taking into considering limitations of the camera and related equipment. Derived from the spectral transfer of the camera and the other experiments and literature, a proposed method of calibration is presented, as well as suggestions for the improvement of the camera and better utilisation thereof. / Dissertation (MEng (Electronic Engineering))--University of Pretoria, 2015. / Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering / MEng (Electronic Engineering) / Unrestricted

Studium dynamiky deformačních procesů ve slitinách Mg-RE pomocí in-situ experimentálních metod / Investigation of the dynamics of the deformation processes in Mg-RE alloys using in-situ experimental methods

Szabóová, Andrea January 2021 (has links)
In this present work, the dynamics of deformation mechanisms activated in binary magnesium-gadolinium alloys with respect to amount of Gd were investigated with in-situ experimental methods. Cast alloys are characterized by random texture. Compression test were done at room temperature with simultaneous record of acoustic emission response. The acoustic emission signal was subsequently analysed using advanced clustering method providing information about the dominant deformation mechanisms. High speed camera was used to study the dynamics of twinning, including estimation of the velocity of twin propagation with respect to Gd concentration. The deformation tests were repeated in a chamber of scanning electron microscope (in-situ SEM) with concurrent following the microstructure development using secondary electrons and electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) in different stages of the deformation. Main goal of this measurements was to identify active slip systems and the progress of twin volume fraction during deformation. Keywords: magnesium alloy, deformation tests, acoustic emission, high-speed camera, electron microscopy, twinning

Zhuang, Chunyu January 2023 (has links)
The trending usage of IoT devices raises serious security concerns. IoT devices have complete access to users’ network environments. In the eyes of hackers, the value of IoT devices is exceptionally high. From minor disturbances to major crimes, all could happen in no time with compromised IoT devices. As the IoT devices collects sensitive data, properly protect users’ privacy is also a crucial aspect for IoT devices. Thus, IoT devices need to be secure enough against modern cyber-attacks. In this work, a smart camera DCS-8515LH from D-Link is under penetration tests. Threat modeling is first performed as an analysis of the IoT system following by a dozen cyber attacks targeting this smart camera. The penetration tests provide valuable information that can reveal the smart camera’s vulnerability and weakness, such as security misconfiguration, vulnerability to DoS attacks. The smart camera is discovered to be vulnerable to DoS attacks and exploits on the zero-configuration protocol. Several weaknesses which violate the users’ privacy exist in the mobile application and Android storage system. This work evaluated all the vulnerabilities and weaknesses discovered from a security aspect. This report exposes attacks that are effective on the smart camera and also serves as a fundamental basis for future penetration tests on this smart camera.
