Sesuvy, sutě a další méně obvyklé terénní prvky v topografických databázích a digitální kartografii / Landslides, Scree and the Other Unusual Terrain Features in Topographic Databases and Digital Cartography

Šákrová, Michaela January 2014 (has links)
Landslides, scree and other specific terrain objects in topographical databases and digital cartography Abstract Topographic maps capture detailed information about terrain. In traditional analogous way of creating these maps, understandable and illustrating cartographic symbology was used. However, certain spheres of symbology were modified with transition to digital topographic databases and digital cartography. Now they carry less information and are less illustrative. Main cause of this inaccuracy is imperfection of the cartographic software, which is unable to create appropriate symbology. This diploma thesis tries to solve aforesaid problem for some specific terrain objects as scree and landslides. These shapes are distinctive geomorphologic phenomenon in terrain, but they are often neglected as their occurrence in our territory is infrequent. Key words: topographic maps, digital cartography, scree, landslide, specific terrain object

Generalizace digitálního modelu terénu založeného na TIN / Simplification the Digital Terrain Model based on TIN representation

Pancová, Iveta January 2012 (has links)
The Generalization of the Digital Terrain Model Based on the TIN Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the up to now way and the possibilities of the digital terrain model generalization based on the TIN (the triangulate irregular network). New suitable way of the generalization of the digital terrain model procured from laser scanning data is proposed on the base of the existing generalization methods designated for digital models. Laser scanning data is characterized by a high areal density so the basic requirement is computing speed, maintaining the terrain features, such as a ridge, valley, steep hill, saddle, depression … and so on. The proposed algorithm is compared with the results of suggested algorithms and results from the generalization by the geographic software, such as Atlas DMT and ArcGIS.

Vlivy a recepce starších i soudobých kartografických děl v dílech kartografů 16.-18. století / Influences and receptions of older and contenmporary cartographic handworks in cartographic handworks of 16 - 18th century

Chrást, Josef January 2013 (has links)
Influences and receptions of older and contemporary cartographic handworks in cartographic handworks of 16-18th century Abstract The master thesis deals with mutual inspiration and copying maps and map outputs among the authors of important cartographic works of the Czech lands from the period 1526-1720. The aim of the thesis is to draft and test a methodology for analyzing degree of similarity between two different old maps. Based on the results of analysis it will be possible to say whether one of the map is a complete or a partial copy of the other map. The main part of the thesis is devoted to the draft of the methodology that allows comparison of two different old maps showing approximately the same territory, originating from a similar period and having generally the same scale. The practical part of the thesis is focused on verification of the methodology based on the analysis of the oldest cartographic handworks of Moravia from the Map Collection of Charles University in Prague and another Moravian map collections. The aim is to find "similar" maps and determine the degree of their similarity. Keywords: history of cartography, old maps, Moravia, Jan Amos Komensky, Pavel Fabricius

Automatizace konturové metody pro znázorňování skal / Automation of "contour method" for cliff drawing

Lněničková, Petra January 2019 (has links)
Automation of "contour method" for cliff drawing Abstract This thesis deals with the design of automated creation of cartographic representation of rocks - specifically contour methods. Based on the study of the rules of this method and its use on analog maps, rules for its processing in digital cartography were designed and an algorithm for automated creation of this representation was designed and implemented. The algorithm is based on the design of the contour method described in the study Topographic mapping of rock formations with the use of airborne laser scanning data by J. Lysák (2016) and the output data of the study Sandstone landscapes in GIS by M. Tomková (2015). The algorithm was implemented in the form of Python scripts using the arcpy library. The thesis also includes testing the algorithm on data from sandstone areas in the Czech Republic. key words: rocks formations, visualization of hypsography , digital cartography, contour method

Generalizace zástavby s využitím typifikace / Simplification of buildings based on typification

Gottstein, Otomar January 2019 (has links)
Simplification of buildings based on typification Abstract The diploma thesis is focused on cartographic generalization. Its main aim was to develop a new method of simplification of buildings based on typification for areas with lower density of buildings (rural or mountain areas). The proposed method was designed for large scale maps (1 : 25 000 and 1 : 50 000). The presented generalization algorithm is based on preferential selection of buildings to be drawn on the map according to their civic importance, area and location towards roads, railways and streams. It respects cartographic rules used for this type of generalization. The algorithm was implemented in the Python programming language using the Shapely and Fiona libraries for a purpose of its proper testing. The ZABAGED and DATA50 data were chosen as suitable test data. Among other things, this thesis also introduces the evaluation method of typification results, which uses Voronoi diagram. Achieved results are presented on maps of fifteen villages with different spatial structure in both targeted scales. Keywords: digital cartography, generalization, typification, building, simplification

Kartografická prezentace v atlasové tvorbě

HANZLÍK, Lukáš January 2016 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to clarifying the issue of atlas production offer and its availability within the scope of the Czech republic. An atlas is a collection of maps interconnected via their purpose, theme, scale coefficient or scale coefficient set, generalization and other system aspects. These are conceptually processed cartographically and polygraphicaly as a unified work. The opening part explains the characteristics of atlas production including the historical development of cartography which is related to this issue. The following part depicts the division of atlases according the individual typology. Another thing elucidated here is which atlases are available in the Czech republic. Only selected atlases are mentioned in this section. The main section of this thesis focuses on the specific cartographic representation and cartographic presentation at a given area. It is a modern method of presentation alternative and utilization of a cartographic digital production what is engaged here.

Návrh a zpracování alternativních řešení uživatelského rozhraní GIS pro výzkumnou základnu Abisko

PŘEDOTOVÁ, Ilona January 2011 (has links)
Over the last 15 years there has been a rapid increase in the development and usage of digital maps. Methods for assessing the quality of systems for communicating digital geo-graphical information are frequently described in the literature, but few methods have been empirically evaluated. The quality of cartographic products is especially important for resources management and environmental planning, although it may be important in all application areas where spatial information is used. When designing digital commu-nicative systems, it is crucially important to base system development on empirical interactions with potential users. In this thesis, empirical methods were used to develop a geographic information system (GIS) for environmental research and monitoring in the Arctic ? the Abisko GIS. Approx-imately 30 potential users were interviewed via a questionnaire while testing a number of alternative interfaces to Abisko GIS. This allowed the qualities of alternative cartographic solutions to be evaluated and the optimal combination of cartographic objects to be im-plemented in Abisko GIS. Through statistical inference of the questionnaires, it was concluded that Map Design had the greatest effect on subjects during their evaluation. Gender and the Time spent with evaluation had no significant effect, although Time appeared to play some role for experts and those with experience of GIS. On average, the response to questions asked regarding particular aspects of maps varied diminutively across subjects. Other observations are discussed in the text.
