Design of a Kit-Packing Weighing System

Muire, Megha Dominica 06 August 2011 (has links)
This research has been conducted at Hunter Engineering Company. It aims to Design a Kit Packing Weighing System which performs a Quality Assessment of tool-kits while packing them on weighing scales. The main aspects of Kit-Packing are documented and suitable terminologies to address the process are established. The kits are categorized and a process for packing kits of different categories is suggested. A system to weigh Heavy, Medium and Light kits is presented. A Monte-Carlo Simulation Tool is developed and an Analysis using the Risk Solver Software is conducted to select the preferable method of establishing Tolerance Limits. A design for a Visual Basic coded Interface is outlined that will guide the Operator through the kit packing process and indicate whether to Accept or Inspect the kit. A Windows application of the Software was prototyped to demonstrate the System’s functionality which also is documented herein.

van Herbert, Niklas January 2022 (has links)
For two parties with shared finances who wants to review and count their purchases made from grocery stores, there are two options. To save all physical receipts and then handle the calculation manually or to use digital receipts, which far from all grocery stores offer. There are also no provision between companies on where these receipts should be stored, which means that a user may have to log in at several different locations. The user thus has the choice of manually managing physical receipts or manually managing digital receipts, or in worst case a mixture of both. Regardless of the form of the receipt, all receipts must be reviewed to see which person made the purchase, which items, if any, should be removed and what the total cost is. The aim of this project has therefore been to create an application in Android using the Google ML Kit OCR library that allows two users to manage their receipts. The report examines the difficulties encountered in text recognition and presents the techniques and methods used during the creation of the application. The application was then evaluated by extracting text from several different receipts. Google’s OCR library was also compared with Tesseract OCR to investigate whether the choice of a different OCR library could have improved the reliability of receipt recognition. The final result is a application that works well when a receipt is scanned correctly, however there are significant difficulties in extracting text from receipts that differ from the receipt templates used during implementation.

The measurement of antenna VSWR by means of a Vector Network Analyzer

YANG, LIUJING January 2020 (has links)
The VSWR is an important entity when assessing the properties of an antenna. This report presents measurements of the VSWR, related to antennas, by means of a Vector Network Analyzer. The open/short/load calibration method is used as a preparation before the actual measurement in order to obtain accurate results. The way that the VSWR depends on frequency is illustrated by three measurment methods: direct measurement of the VSWR, by using 𝑆11, or by using the Smith chart. The results are compared and conclusions are drawn.

Interaction of antenna systems with human body

Ojerinde, Oluwaseun A. January 2014 (has links)
The research investigates the influence on the human body on a communication system. To understand this, the effect of hands free kit (HFK) on energy absorption in the body was investigated when operating a smart phone at 2G. Findings on the research are given in the thesis report. Also, the influence of the way in which a phone is held on a phone s received power was investigated. The result was compared to that obtained using a hand phantom acquired from SPEAG. This was to check if the hand phantom best represents the human hand when using it in experiments. The setup for the experiment was in an anechoic chamber at Loughborough University. The mobile phone transmitted in the 2G system. In further experiments carried out on the body, two antennas were attached to the body in six different orientations to receive power from a source creating a Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) system. The antennas used were monopoles mounted on a circular ground plane. These antennas were designed and constructed with the influence of the body taken into consideration. The use of diversity techniques to improve transmission to an on-body system is investigated with the antennas on the body. For each alignment, the transmission to the on-body was compared with the transmission to the corresponding off-body (free space). Experiments for this work were carried out in three environments.

Aksesuarų komplektas "Deformacijos" / Accessory kit "Deformations"

Barzinskaitė, Marta 02 September 2010 (has links)
At all times people gives special attention for theirs bodys, wish to be beautiful makes life uncomfortable and full of pain. To have desire siluet, often was used auxiliary tool – corset. Long time corset was mandatory costume element, only form, background material and wearing way was changed. In 1990 corset was on top of the popularity, even today haute couture fashion can not visualize models without corset. Historic resources testify, that corset ofter damaging body, than retouched. Aim of the creativ work is develop and implement accessory kit, which shows the idea of restraining the body with the unusual corset representation and also it shows absurd body torture for fashion. Title of the creative work is “Deformations”, for this reason special attention is given for item form and function, to deform natural human body.

SHP2/PTPN11 PROTEIN-TYROSINE PHOSPHATASE PROMOTES MAST CELL HOMEOSTASIS AND SYSTEMIC MASTOCYTOSIS

Sharma, NAMIT 25 June 2013 (has links)
KIT receptor (CD117) is a receptor tyrosine kinase crucial for homeostasis of mast cells (MCs) in tissues and recruitment to sites of inflammation and tumors in response to its ligand Stem cell factor (SCF). Gain of function mutations in KIT (e.g. D816V) are frequently observed in systemic mastocytosis and other cancer types. Src Homology 2 domain containing phosphatase-2 (SHP2 or PTPN11) is a protein tyrosine phosphatase that promotes cell proliferation, survival and motility in multiple pathways and cell types. To study SHP2 function in MCs, we generated novel MC-specific Shp2 knock-out (KO) mice (MC-shp2 KO). These mice had reduced numbers of MCs in skin and peritoneum, and defective contact hypersensitivity responses compared to control mice, consistent with SHP2 promoting MC homeostasis. Using an inducible SHP2 KO bone marrow-derived MC (BMMC) culture model, we found that SHP2 KO cells were prone to apoptosis and had no MC repopulating activity in vivo. Mechanistically, SHP2 enhanced ERK activation and downregulation of pro-apoptotic protein Bim. SHP2 KO BMMCs also had defects in chemotaxis towards SCF, due to impaired activation of a Lyn/Vav/Rac pathway in SHP2 KO BMMCs. This correlated with defects in cell spreading, and F-actin polymerization in response to SCF. Treatment of BMMCs with a SHP2 inhibitor (II-B08) also led to reduced chemotaxis, consistent with SHP2 phosphatase activity being required for KIT-induced chemotaxis. Lastly, we tested whether SHP2 regulates oncogenic KIT signaling using a P815 mouse mastocytoma model. Stable silencing of SHP2 in P815 cells led to reduced cell growth and survival in vitro, and less aggressive systemic mastocytosis development in syngeneic mice. Overall, these studies identify SHP2 as a key node in SCF/KIT and oncogenic KIT pathways, and as a potential therapeutic target in several human diseases. / Thesis (Ph.D, Biochemistry) -- Queen's University, 2013-06-25 12:03:57.818

Georgin-Lavialle, Sophie 23 May 2011 (has links) (PDF)
