Som flicka förväntas du vara duktig, vara fin i håret och se till att den stökiga pojken sitter tyst och fint. Många, inklusive jag själv har nog hört talas om pojke-flicka taktiken på musiken, under lunchen och genom vilotimmen. Som pojke förväntas du vara aktiv, gilla bilar och spela fotboll. Du ska inte gråta; var en man och du får absolut inte klä dig i rosa. Detta är förväntningar som samhället placerat på dig på grund av ditt socialt konstruerade kön, ditt genus. Dessa förväntningar börjar tidigt, redan innan du föds och de följer och formar dig genom hela ditt liv. Samhällets genusnormer påverkar beteenden, sociala koder och även kläderna vi bär, flickor kan ha på sig byxor och blått men pojkar får inte klä sig i en rosa klänning. I detta examensarbete har jag undersökt hur genusnormer påverkar och formar barn med fokus på klädindustrin. Detta projekt har tagit avstamp i problematiken kring tabubeläggandet och exkluderingen av feminint kodade färger och element inom unisexmarknaden. Resultatet av projektet ämnade att ifrågasätta och belysa denna problematik, vilket resulterade i tre mönster som fokuserade på att inkludera och lyfta det feminina för att skapa tillgänglighet för alla oavsett könstillhörighet. / As a girl, you are expected to be good, have nice hair and make sure that the loud boy sits quietly and behave nicely. Many, including myself, have probably heard of the boy-girl tactic implemented at school during music, lunch and through rest time. As a boy, you are expected to be active, like cars and play football. You should not cry; be a man and you should absolutely not dress in pink. These are expectations that society places on you because of your socially constructed sex, your gender. These expectations begin early, even before you are born and they follow and shape you throughout your life. Society’s gender norms affect behaviors, social codes and also the clothes we wear, girls can wear trousers and blue but boys are not allowed to dress in a pink dress. In this thesis, I have investigated how gender norms affect and shape children with a focus on the clothing industry. This project is based on the problem of taboo coating and the exclusion of feminine coded colors and elements in the unisex market. The result of the project was intended to question and shed light on this problem, which resulted in three patterns that focused on including and highlighting the feminine in order to create accessibility for everyone, regardless of gender.
