Koinonia as teologiese raamwerk in Paulus se hantering van die probleemkwessies in 1 Kor 5-6 en 8:1-11:1 (Afrikaans)De Wet, Burgert Wynand 02 November 2005 (has links)
This thesis sets out to proof that Paul advised the Corinthians, at least prominently, from a Christ-centred koinwniva frame of mind when addressing their issues in 1 Corinthians. Firstly it has been established that the koinwniva word group may be defined within the nuances of a dynamic relationship. Secondly the study has compiled, with this definition in mind, at least 47 of the most prominent koinwniva elements as found throughout the Bible, with special focus on the New Testament. These elements have then been organised in a koinwniva defined theological framework so that it could be easily accessible for further study into the way Paul might have used them later on in 1 Corinthians. The study then continued not only to point out the important role of 1 Cor 1:1-9 in the Corinthian letter, but also to show how the themes still to be addressed are actually being set in a koinwniva frame of mind. Furthermore, the role of 1:9, as nexus, combined with the specific reference to koinwniva with Christ has also been stressed. In doing so Paul actually supply us with what could be called a “key” to unlock other koinwniva elements in the rest of 1 Corinthians without encountering the koinwniva term as such. So, armed with this “key” and our carefully defined koinwniva theological framework, 1 Cor 5-6 and 8:1-11:1 have been selected as test cases in proving the hypothesis as true. After the issues that Paul encountered in these chapters have been clarified and his responses exegetically laid out, it has been shown in every textual unit, within the designated macro units, that Paul most definitely put koinwniva with Christ in the focus of each suggested solution. Through this “key” other relevant referrals were then made to one or more of the 47 koinwniva elements from the previously compiled koinwniva theological framework. Realising that the koinwniva dynamics featured consistently behind Paul’s suggestions to the Corinthians, led to the conclusion that Paul extensively tapped into a Christ-centred koinwniva dynamic as a prominent frame of mind to address some of the key issues featuring in 1 Corinthians. / Thesis (PhD (New Testament Studies))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / New Testament Studies / unrestricted

Mors mysticaMorales-Jodra, Guillermo Miguel January 2018 (has links)
Spanish

A 'Demonstration Plot' for Equality: A Qualitative Analysis of Clarence Jordan and Koinonia FarmMcLaughlin, Laura Shay 20 June 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to explore the biography of a white, Southern Baptist-reared Clarence Jordan and his goals in the creation of Koinonia Farm. This thesis explicitly evaluates these motives through the examination of archival material—specifically Jordan’s sermons and speeches—that uncovers Jordan’s own words and testimony. This thesis answers the following questions: (1) What was Clarence Jordan’s aim in founding Koinonia Farm and continuing to implement it over time? (2) How did he go about methodically achieving his aim? And (3) How effectively were the objectives achieved as reflected in measurable outcomes—did Jordan’s sermons frame his position so as to make Koinonia Farm work over its lifetime? Additionally, this thesis challenges the methods of Clarence Jordan and Koinonia Farm in the way they employ the agricultural and industrial educational models as a means of liberation and uplift for African Americans and poor whites in Sumter County, Georgia. / Master of Science

Vereinsamung in der postmodernen Gesellschaft als Herausforderung der Kirche / Isolation in postmodern society as a challenge to the churchBreidenbach, Roy 30 April 2007 (has links)
Summary of Dissertation
This study has its roots in the observation, that the postmodern society has a tendency to
isolate the people. In contrast to this, the church has an inherent potential of community,
which can offer a concrete alternative for isolated people. This study now asks the central
question, how the church can be enabled to bring their community-promoting potential more
effectively into the society. For this, firstly the sociological and theological conditions are
clarified, to which then, on the basis of a limited empirical study, practical experiences of
people with church community are placed beside. At last, the contemporary literature of
church growth is consulted comparatively, in order to finally answer the central question of
this study by some practical procedure suggestions. / Practical Theology / M.Th. (Practical Theology)

Mystik und Koinonia: Das ekklesiologisch-missiologische potential mystischer spiritualitat / Mysticism and Koinonia: The ecclesiological and missiological potential of mystical spiritualityBreidenbach, Roy 02 1900 (has links)
This work mainly asks for the potential of christian mysticism for the Ekklesia, Koinonia and
the mission of the Church. In order to this, it is considered that the term mysticism is difficult
to grasp by definition, for there is no clear definition of the term mysticism. Due to this fact
irritations and misunderstandings are caused, especially in the protestant and evangelical
Christianity, that have no traditional anchoring of mysticism in their life of faith, as it is the
case in the catholic Church for example. At this point, the work at hand defines in an afferent
first part, what christian mysticism is, in distinction to esoteric phenomena or non-christian
mysticism.
The following part asks for the practical forms of christian mysticism with reference to
four selected samples of spiritual exercises. At this place, psychological issues are considered
too, as well as the question for the mystagogy.
In the next part of this work, the relationship between the christian mysticism and
Koinonia, Ekklesia and the mission of the Church will be considered. At this point, the
occurance of community as a connecting element for these issues is in the focus of interest.
Finally, this work outlines a mystical ecclesiology, as it is now possible and
conceivable on the basis of the foregoing considerations. The potential of christian mysticism
for church development and the mission of the church will be clarified, as well as the need for
empirical research and testing of the shown theory by some practical suggestions. / Biblical and Ancient Studies / D. Th. (Missiology)

Riglyne tot hoop-getuienis deur terminale MIV/VIGS lyers : 'n pastorale studie / Erina du PlooyDu Plooy, Erina January 2010 (has links)
Chapter 1 emphasizes the central and perspicacious position of eschatological hope and witnessing thereof, in the lives of the believing terminal HIV/AIDS sufferers. An exegetical study of John 9:1-8, Luke 5:12-15 Job 1:6-22; 2:3-13, Genesis 2:16-17, Romans 5:2-5; 6:511; 8:18-25, 1 Peter 1 :3-9 and Matthew 28: 19-20 is conducted in Chapter 2. Illnesses (blindness, leprosy), suffering and pain (Job), death of mankind (Adam and Eve) and the retrovital death of Jesus Christ, hope and witnessing are researched and analysed. Comparisons with life today where HIV/AIDS is a stigmatised terminal illness, are weighed. Hope for eternal life in the full presence and reign of God Almighty, is based on the promises and overwhelming love of the living God. Witnessing of this vivacious and living hope is imperative to the disciples of Christ in Matthew 28: 19-20, and therefore to all believers until the advent of Christ. Chapter 3 establishes the contribution of meta theories of complementary and entwined sciences, such as health and medicine, communications and the positive psychology. The medical and social circumstances of the believing terminal HIV/AIDS sufferers revealed an extremely grave situation, which is manageable with inter alia positive "signature strengths". On a much higher plain, spiritual health and healing as the fruit of the Spirit, is of cardinal importance for eternal life. These theories only confirm the truths about the Great Healer as stated in Chapter 2 and provide enlightening perspectives for a new practical theological theory. Empirical research via a qualitative study at the health centre of an urban vehicle manufacturing plant, is conducted in Chapter 4. Two group interviews with multi-variables per participant (believing terminal HIV/AIDS sufferers and a control group of health workers), have established that the HIV/AIDS sufferers are spiritually enormously strengthened by their eschatological hope for eternal life with God, without this earthly suffering. Pastoral needs include prayer, comfort and koinonia/fellowship. Chapter 5 suggests practical guidelines in terms of witnessing hope by means of cherugmatical, liturgical, koinonial and diaconial communication. The image of the 'retrovital' Lord Jesus Christ as the pivotal change that paths the way to radical Biblical thinking/living (in comparison with the "retroviral" ability of the. HI-virus which multiplies the "evil"), is encouraged. The final conclusion is that a believing terminal HIV/AIDS sufferer is able to witness hope for eternal life until the fourth phase of the terminal illness. Practical guidelines hereto may encourage the believer of any terminal illness or in any case, to witness hope with a life of worship and thus honour the living God. / Thesis (M.A. (Practical Theology))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2010.
