Fleyberková, Klára January 2012 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is the work of David Jařab and Dušan D. Pařízek - two of the leading figures in Komedie Theatre from years 2002 to 2012. It tries to capture some of the principles of both author´s work and focuses on their work on Komedie´s scene only. After a brief introduction to the history of Komedie Theatre and Pražské komorní divadlo (Prague theatre ensemble), this thesis analyses the theatre´s further dramaturgy, both author´s topic selection and their working with text. In the next part it gets to the formal elements in the authors´s plays - successively it describes stage design, costumes, music or visual effects. Last part of this thesis is about some common specific points that we could find in Jařab and Pařízek´s production, about their approach to acting and combining space and text. And in the very end there is a general reflection of Komedie Theatre under the lead of Pražské komorní divadlo besides trying to find possible reasons why these two figures helped to create such acclaimed scene. The objective of this thesis is to describe the work of David Jařab and Dušan D. Pařízek in Prague´s Komedie Theatre and to detect principles of their production and mutual collaboration.

Embrace the Befuddlement

Overaa, Anne Marte January 2012 (has links)
A productive ambivalence that allows absurd slapstick to come together with the gravely serious in a play between the abstract and the concrete. Through my works I try to blend or contrast different references and thereby evoke a feeling of ambiguity that I often experience.

Dante a Ravenna / Dante and Ravenna

Boháčová, Adéla January 2021 (has links)
The Master's thesis is focused on research of the Italian academic discourse from the years 1891-2008 dealing with the influence of the visual culture of Ravenna on Dante's Divine Comedy. One of the scholars that can be placed in the context of Italian discourse is the philologist and aesthetician Jaroslav Hruban, the only Czech scholar who occupied himself with the relationship between Dante and Ravenna and continuously followed up the development of the interwar Italian Dantology. The thesis puts forward two questions: how the scholars of the Italian academic discourse and Jaroslav Hruban reflect the relationship of Dante and Ravenna, and if we can trace the influence of the visual culture of Ravenna (especially of the mosaics from the 5th and 6th centuries) in the text of Dante's Divine Comedy. The questions are solved by application of the historiographic methods that were used to examine Italian Dantology, the methods of literary studies and art history by which analysis and comparison of the text and imagery were performed, and also the methods of visual culture that were used to reconstruct the image of Ravenna during the time of Dante's stay in the town and his "period eye". The scholars believe that the inspirational influences of the Ravenna mosaics and visual culture on Dante's Divine...

České teenagerovské komedie nultých let / Czech Teen Comedies of the 2000s

Hezinová, Sandra January 2022 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on Czech teen comedies produced during the 2000s and the production practices associated with them. The thesis defines a teenage film as a film that not only thematizes adolescence, but primarily targets an adolescent audience. In other words, the film's creators were consciously aiming at teenagers. The basic conceptual framework used to select individual films is the category of film cycle, which is defined as a series of typologically related films produced over a limited period of time, while also conforming to the same genre conventions of a dominant genre trend. The selected films are analyzed at a specific historical moment with emphasis on the wider context of the contemporary film and media industry. The methodological approach is based on production studies and industrially oriented genre theory which views genre primarily as an industrial concept that should be examined in relation to the film business. The analysis of the production practice used in the teen comedies is grounded in interviews with the film creators. This thesis aims to show how individual producers used the business opportunities available to them at the time, how the industrial conditions are reflected in their work, and how they thought about the concepts of genre and film cycle while...

Francouzská bulvární komedie na českých divadlech a hledání překladatelských strategií / French boulevard comedy on Czech stage and searching of the translation strategy

Töröková, Sára January 2019 (has links)
The thesis is divided into two parts, one theoretical and one empirical. The first one presents origin and different perception of the boulevard comedy genre in France, Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom and USA. Afterwards, a brief characteristic of the boulevard comedy is presented in terms of content and subject matter. Four kinds of comedy are presented - comedy of manners, comedy of situation, comedy of intrigue and interactive comedy. The translatological analysis of the Czech translation of the French humorist Laurent Baffie's contemporary play Toc toc by the director and translator Jaromír Janeček constitutes the second main part of the thesis. The analysis is based on the theoretical studies of Jiří Levý and Jan Mukařovský, which are dealing with the translation of drama, and also on the theory of so-called Manipulation school of André Lefevere. Several problems have arised from the detailed analysis of the original text. The comparison of the translation and the original text is made on the ground of these problems. Subsequently, there is an evaluation of the translation. In some cases, a different solution is proposed. The work is supplemented by insights into the translation practice, which are drawn from personal interviews with translators and experts on drama.
