The aim of this diploma thesis is to introduce Victorian authoresses of the second half of the 19th century and concept of fictional novelistic spaces. Firstly, the thesis will shortly present the main authoresses of the Victorian novels in the social context of the 19th century (the Brontë sisters, George Eliot). Secondly, it will focus on the analysis of the last of George Eliot's novels, 'Daniel Deronda' (comparing it with her earlier novel 'The Mill on the Floss') with the emphasis on the changes of the concept of space in the novel, in which the Jewish theme dominates, and it will also describe searching for the roots and traditions in the personal life of the hero. Finally, the thesis will aim at European context of the concepts of novelistic spaces and it will evaluate the importance of the last novel written by George Eliot.

The capture of image of the Emperor Rudolf II., his social surroundings and settlement in a historical science was the aim of the thesis called "Rudolf II. in the image of German-language belles-lettres and drama of 19th and 20th Century". Afterwards this image was compared by historical drama Ein Brudezwist in Habsburg by Franz Grillparzer and by two pieces of belles-lettres literature Der Engel vom westlichen Fenster by Gustav Meyrink and Nachts unter der steinernen Brücke by Leo Perutz. The all above mentioned pieces were used as the basic source of this Thesis, their interpretation is based on methodological concepts of memory. This Thesis is presented as a case study, which could become starting point for systematic research of the second life image of Habsburg monarchs in the future.

Specific learning disabilities and social aspects are the key terms characterizing this diploma thesis. They are also the main theme of research. This issue is greatly widespread nowadays. These defects (disorders) represent a significant social problem all over the world. A psychological burden has influence not only on those children themselves, but also on parents as well as teachers. Except the negative influence on a child´s school success, specific learning disabilities have a secondary impact. They influence pupils´ self-assessment and their life among peers. The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine a severe impact of specific learning disabilities on a child´s self-assessment and its position among classmates. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is focused on the interpretation of knowledge about the theme. There is briefly mentioned a historical overview of specific learning disabilities and it describes the origin, demonstration or occurrence of the most widespread specific learning disability - dyslexia - especially its social aspects. The practical part acquaints readers with research. There is a sample of tested children with their casuistries, tests and results with tables and charts.

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of learning disabilities and their consequence on pupil´s self-koncept and class position. A pupil, who suffers from a learning disability, has to face a lot of difficulties after he or she enters school. The way how these children tackle these difficulties influences their self-concept and thier class position. The theoretical part discusses explains the terms- self-concept, self-esteem and self-efficacy in connection with pupil´s motivation, pupil´s engagement in learning process and their coping with the learning disability. The problem of inclusion of these children among their classmates in learning process is also mentioned. The practical and investigative part concerns the research at the elementary school in Pelhřimov and monitors the collected data.

Alliances should have a big amount of capabilities and strong individual states to deter successfully. NATO needs to decide who their adversary is, what actions to deter and what countermeasures to deter them. They should also increase their conventional forces and willingness to use nuclear weapons as a response to aggression. With this background in previous research the problem of this thesis is how does an alliance deterring strategy look like and how is it tailored to fit the adversary, threat and countermeasures. The aim for this thesis is to explain how the deterring strategy of NATO looks like and how it has changed since after the cold war till today. The results show that the deterring strategy has changed focus. From the focus on territorial, broad and denial deterrence in the strategic concept from 1999. To the focus on territorial, extended, broad and denial deterrence in the NATO summit meeting in Warsaw 2016.
