This diploma thesis deals with the topic of coaching in organizations, respectively the topic of barriers to coaching in organizations that prevent its effectiveness. Firstly, the attention is paid to the definition of coaching, its basic principles, forms and specifics to other developmental methods. Further described is the use of coaching in organizations, the reasons for its implementation, its benefits and most of all the barriers that may occur. Text is based on the specialized literature and the data from qualitative research. The focus is on the perspectives of the parties that participate in the coaching process - guarantors of coaching, coaches and coachees and how these actors perceive the potential barriers to coaching, not only during the coaching process, but even before its initiation and after its completion. This thesis is devoted to coaching, which is a relatively new trend in the field of people leadership, explaining what the experiences with this tool of development are in the current practice in kindergartens management. The theoretical part summarizes the findings from the literature depicting the topic of coaching in different contexts - dealing with the issue of human resource management and changes in manager's approach to the performance management. The practical part presents results of a questionnaire-based research for a broader look at the issue and the results of the qualitative approach implemented through structured interviews, life-history method and document analysis. This thesis introduces us to the areas in which the coaching method was successful in employee's development in a professional or personal level, as well as in development of the director, the whole team and the organization. Thesis focuses the topic of individual change and discusses possibilities of its support in terms of psychological (self)coaching. The theoretical part summarizes key psychological traits, which may affect the success of change implementation, than provides insight into the various phases, stages and processes of both individual and organizational change. Attention is then moved to the issue of individual change goals setting and there are shown several models of goals formulation. Next chapter introduces psychological coaching as a suitable approach to the facilitation of individual change and describes specific techniques and strategies that support individuals achieving goals. Particular attention is also paid to the strategy of small steps or quick wins, also known as Kaizen, as well as the other mentioned techniques and tools that can be used in (self)coachning and selfmanagement. The research verifies the effect of Kaizen strategy on individual goals achievement. Results confirm the positive impact of Kaizen on individual success in goal achieving, but also the degrese of precieved satisfaction derived from working on goals.

The theoretical basis of this thesis explains the terms closely associated with the management and managerial skills. Introductory part relates to approach the concept itself and the executive management, we are further broken down managerial functions, which are continuously illuminates to describe other skills, such as communication, goal setting, skills and coaching. The main point is to approach the concepts of soft and hard skills that managers should possess, or which should in the course of his practice to learn. Only by careful control of both of these groups of skills can lead to good organization. For a clearer explanation of the managerial skills included graphic view, which approximates the distribution of skills. In the second part, a practical part, described the situation with the existing skills of managers in the selected company. Thanks to the questionnaire, it is possible to measure the current level of acquired skills of managers at three levels and can be evaluated, what is the interest of improving individual skills, or whether managers feel sufficiently qualified for their job positions.

This information is supplemented by Value Survey Module Questionnaire 94 by Geert Hofstede. Based on this part of work there were suggested some steps to improve the situation concerning Internet advertising, evaluation interviews, changing of company culture, vision and mission, coaching, creating of new job, visiting "Jobday" in České Budějovice and improvement of communication. Some of these suggestions are closely connected to each other.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the role of the goals in coaching with focus on their form and their possible impact on the coaching process. The topic of the goals is presented from the several perspectives that are confronted each other. The thesis has two parts - the theoretical one and the empirical one. In the theoretical part of the work are defined the concepts that are related to the topic, described psychological principles and essence of coaching, clarified the role of the goals in coaching, summarized the psychological approaches in coaching, discussed possible negative consequences of the goals in coaching and at the end of the theoretical part is given a brief overview of current research of this topic. The second, empirical part is following by theoretical part. The research design is characterized by the quantitative research, where is mapped the goal orientation of the coaches and then their attitudes to work with the goals. The target group of the research are certified professional coaches in the Czech republic. The data collection is realized by the administration of a self- assessment questionnaire. This thesis deals with the methods of coaching as a leadership in professional basketball clubs in the Czech Republic. The objective of the thesis is to determine how much the professional basketball coaches are familiar with methods of coaching and whether they use any of them in their daily practice. To find the necessary information there has been used a questionnaire survey through email correspondence with coaches. The results are then compared with the information obtained through studying books of leading American coaches. The benefits of this thesis are identification and evaluation of the coaching utilization in management of professional basketball teams. The issue of coaching in this or any other sports in the Czech Republic has not been written up into any book. The actual summary of foreign literature dedicated to this topic is also beneficial. The bonuses of this thesis are the recommendations to improve the performance of basketball coaches. Recommendations and conclusions of this thesis can be useful not only for improving the work of the respondents of this questionnaire, but they can be used as general source for increasing work efficiency in the management of sports teams. The thesis may also be used by basketball players to expand their knowledge of the development of their own abilities and skills. The results are also useful for the Czech Basketball Federation, Association of Basketball Coaches, which is responsible for the methodology of coaches' education and universities providing a two-year educational program Trainers' School. The thesis could be divided into four main parts. The first part deals with the general areas of coaching, its use, attitudes and personality coach. The second part focuses on the area of sports coaching and then the specifics of leadership in basketball. The third part deals with the exploration of the use of coaching in leading basketball teams by professional trainers. The final section summarizes the results of individual coaches and provides recommendations to improve their work.
