Qualité de l'éducation au Burkina-Faso : efficacité des enseignements-apprentissages dans les classes des écoles primaires / Quality of Education in Burkina-Faso : effectiveness of teaching and learning in Primary School Classes

Ouédraogo, Étienne 28 September 2016 (has links)
The topic of this Thesis is at the crossroad between many topics of education sciences: pedagogy, didactics, psychology and small group sociology in order to illuminate what concerns « educational relationship in schools ». It focuses on the effectiveness of teaching-learning in fourth grade classes. This Research paper focuses especially on organizers who structure and determine teachers' class activities in Burkina Faso. Classrooms were the places where we collected our data in 2013. An exploratory survey led us to narrow our goal, limiting it to the classroom-interactions between the teacher and his pupils during an educational session, namely grammar class. Secondly, we created a body of data including interviews and comments through films the a sample of 12 teachers and 36 pupils. Then, we tried to find the dimensions of the three areas compared with pupils' and teachers' declarations. The method is the deductive one. The results tend to illustrate that the "educational organization" dominates, followed by "relationship atmosphere" and lastly the "didactic management". Our goal is to better understand teachers' practices in order to suggest actions to be conducted towards improving the quality of education.

EXPLORATION OF NOVEL EDUCATIONAL TOOLS BASED ON VISUALIZATION

Abel Andres Reyes Angulo (11237160) 06 August 2021 (has links)
<div>The dynamic on how teaching is performed has changed abruptly in the past few years. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, class modalities were changing. Instructors were adopting new modalities for lectures, like online and hybrid classes, and the use of collaborative resources were getting more popular over time. The current situation was just a catalyst of an event that was already started, which is the beginning of a new era for education.</div><div><br></div><div>This new education era implies new areas of study and the implementation of tools that promote an efficient learning process by adapting to everything involved in this change. Sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics education (STEM) and healthcare fields are areas with noticeable demand for professionals in industry around the world. Therefore, the need to have more people academically prepared in these areas is highly prioritized. New tools to be used for learning to complement the mentioned field must show features related to the adoption of new technologies as well as the fact that this is currently a digital era. Emergent specialities like artificial intelligence and data science are traditionally being taught at the university level, due to the complexity of some concepts and the background needed to develop skills related to these areas. However, with the current technology available, tools can be used as complementary learning resources for complex subjects. Visualization helps the users to learn by sharpening the sense of sight and making evident things that are hard to illustrate by words or numbers. Therefore, the use of software for education based on visualization could be the new tools needed for these emergent specialities aligned to this new educational era. Features like intractability, gaming, and multimedia resources can help to make these tools more robust and completed.</div><div><br></div><div>In this work, the implementations of novel educational tools based on visualization for emergent specialization areas like machine learning in STEM and pathophysiology in heathcare were explored. This work summarizes the implementation of three different projects to illustrate the general purpose of this work, showing the relevance of the mentioned areas and proposes educational tools based on visualization, adapting the proposal for each speciality and having in mind different target populations. The projects related to each of the proposed tools includes the analysis to elaborate the content within the tool, the review of the software development, and the testing sessions to identify strengths and weaknesses of the tools. The tools are intended to be designed as frameworks in such a way that the deliverable content could be customized over the time and cover different educational needs.</div>

Students perception of evaluation of teaching skills

Rudman, Naomi 30 November 2007 (has links)
An exploratory, descriptive design in the phenomenological approach was used to describe and explore how student tutors' experienced the process of evaluation of their clinical teaching in a specific distance-learning programme. The researcher conducted a tape-recorded focus group interview with seven participants who voluntarily agreed to participate. After transcription, the data was analysed using Tesch's (1992:92) method of analysis to code the data into themes in order to identify commonalities. The findings of this study indicated that participants experienced the evaluation process positively and negatively. The negative experiences included difficulty in obtaining access to evaluators, practica facilities, and inconsistencies of evaluators. Recommendations were made for improving evaluation of teaching skills of student tutors in this distance programme. / Health Studies / M. A. (Health Studies)

Změny na trhu práce v éře globalizace / Labour market changes in the era of globalization

Stočková, Eva January 2013 (has links)
This thesis introduces issues of globalization in the context of work (not only employment) and education. Further, it follows up the impacts of globalization processes on forms of work and on (working) individuals. The topic of globalization is examined in more detail in the first part of the thesis with emphasis on different concepts and approaches to globalization. At the same time this part defines the contemporary globalization. Work as such is introduced by historical excursion and by a list of changes of work in modern society. There are also presented some of the experts' solutions or recommendations for the labour markets including solutions through long-life education and learning. In most cases the "pros and cons" of changes of work and the submitted solutions are confronted. Main findings of this study are: globalization brings contradictory conclusions which provide advantages and disadvantages to various people and groups; there is a link between globalized economy and working individuals; and at the same time that the link between globalization processes and education is in such a sense that changes in education are often derived from the ideas of economics.

Extending Artemis With a Rule-Based Approach for Automatically Assessing Modeling Tasks

Rodestock, Franz 27 September 2022 (has links)
The Technische Universität Dresden has multiple e-learning projects in use. The Chair of Software Technology uses Inloop to teach students object-oriented programming through automatic feedback. In the last years, interest has grown in giving students automated feedback on modeling tasks. This is why there was an extension developed by Hamann to automate the assessment of modeling tasks in 2020. The TU Dresden currently has plans to replace Inloop with Artemis, a comparable system. Artemis currently supports the semi-automatic assessment of modeling exercises. In contrast, the system proposed by Hamann, called Inloom, is based on a rule-based approach and provides instant feedback. A rule-based system has certain advantages over a similarity-based system. One advantage is the mostly better feedback that these systems generate. To give instructors more flexibility and choice, this work tries to identify possible ways of extending Artemis with the rule-based approach Inloom. In the second step, this thesis will provide a proof of concept implementation. Furthermore, a comparison between different systems is developed to help instructors choose the best suitable system for their usecase.:Introduction, Background, Related Work, Analysis, System Design, Implementation, Evaluation, Conclusion and Future Work, Bibliography, Appendix

FREGNAN, EZIO 09 February 2021 (has links)
The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the technological evolution in place are originating significant changes in culture, society and economy. Rapid transformations in the world of work revealed the need of involving the main subjects in charge of driving both organizational and professional change toward an engaging and collaborative research path, able to make clear and describe different ways to face the experiences connected with the undergoing changes. Within this context, the thesis aims at contributing in outlining the new work culture emerging from some innovative practices, present in the new educational and training ecosystem. The scientific research, started in December 2019 and concluded in September 2020, is articulated in four questions: How is the context in which we live and work changing? How is the work culture undergoing transformations? Which Drivers do facilitate its understanding? Are the elements of the work culture useful also in the light of a new radical and unexpected transformation? The answers intend to provide some points for reflection and a first practical guidance for all those who are directly involved in the creation of new learning solutions, aimed at transferring value to citizens and workers of tomorrow.
