A b s tra c t The recent discussion of the European Parliam ent, member states, and citizens triggered the question whether there is s till a need for bi-annual clock shifting from the perspective of energy savings. Employing the difference-in-differences method on hourly data on electricity consumption between 2006 and 2017, the study con­ cludes th a t daylight saving tim e policy reduces aggregate electricity consumption by 0.35 % in the Czech Republic. Moreover, daylight saving tim e leads to 1% savings on domestic residential electricity consumption. Overall, daylight saving tim e increases electricity consumption in the morning, bu t decreases electricity consumption in the evening by greater amount. We have estimated th a t more than 65 % of to ta l electricity savings attributable to daylight saving tim e arose from effect of the daylight saving tim e on residential electricity consumption. 1

The aim of this study is to determine (1) whether the yellow mistletoe (Loranthus europaeus Jacq.) favors attacking only the certain species of the genus Quercus, (2) the age structure and (3) the sex ratio of hemiparasite in the selected area. Furthermore, (4) the assessment of the relationship between the age structure and weather in individual years. Location Pouzdřanská step was chosen for this purposeas on the relatively small area 6 species of oak and yellow mistletoe are growing. The age and sex of the individual hemiparasites was assessed either directly from the ground or climbing up to the crown. It was found that all investigated species of the genus Quercus are infested by yellow mistletoe. The most infested oak species are Quercus petrea, Quercus polycarpa a Quercus robur. The oldest yellow mistletoe individual was 21 years old and grew on Quercus pubescens. There were more frequent males individual. There was not found any apparent relationship between the history of weather and attachment of the yellow mistletoe to the host.

Title: Influence of Rugby World Cup and Summer Olympic Games on the awarness of FTVS students about rugby Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is detection, if big sport rugby events had any influence on awareness of rugby for students of Faculty of physical education and sport. Concretely, if the knowledge about Rugby World Cup and rugby tournament at Summer Olympic Games increased. And then, if their knowledge about rugby rules, world rugby, Czech rugby and women's rugby increased. Methods: I used the methods of quantitative research in ma thesis. I created two electronic questionnaire through the web site Vyplnto.cz. One of the questionaire I distributed in 2015 (before the Rugby World Cup) and the second questionnaire I posted in 2016 after the Summer Olympic Games. Results: The results of research demonstrated the impact of the big rugby events. The awareness of students about rugby increased. Their basic knowledge about world rugby and rugby rules increased. This thesis deals with the research on consumer behavior when selecting a summer holiday. The theoretical section summarizes the current knowledge of consumer research and consumer behaviour issues, which forms the basis for the practical part of the thesis. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis and evaluation of the results of the quantitative on-line research conducted with three hundred respondents. The aim is to contribute to the understanding of consumer behavior when selecting a summer holiday and in particular to determine how the amount of consumer's income affects the consumer's choice of destinations for summer holidays and also to identify which channels are the main sources of information for consumers deciding about summer holiday. The research results show a correlation between the level of respondent's income and selection of a particular type of summer holiday destination. In terms of respondent's information sources, internet was evaluated as the most used source of information for holiday decision-making.

The subject of the diploma thesis is to introduce the problems of communal spas, namely the treatment of water for swimming pools. Following is a proposal of reconstruction of the treatment plant for a real, operated area of the summer swimming pool. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. At the beginning of the theoretical part I make research of the history of balneology, the effects of bathing and swimming on the human body, possible resources for spa purposes and hygiene requirements for these waters. I also describe commonly used methods of treatment of swimming pool water. In the practical part I first describe the summer swimming pool in the town of Břeclav. There is a description of the swimming pool, its history and equipment. In the next chapter I present the currently operated technological line. Based on a personal visit, the next chapter evaluates the technical condition of the plant. Based on this evaluation, a new technological line for treatment of swimming pool water of the Břeclav summer swimming pool is proposed.

The master thesis is focusing on media image of Emil Zátopek using the method of qualitative content analysis. Five periods of time, each of them six months long and sixteen years apart, are examined. These periods of time are represented by the years 1952, 1968, 1984, 2000, 2016 in which the Summer Olympic Games were held. As a representative sample of the printed media during the time of communist hegemony in Czechoslovakia Rudé právo, Mladá fronta and Československý sport that has been thematically involved (there has been no analysis for this one during the year 1952 since the first print was published in 1953) were chosen. The printed media after the revolution time are represented by Právo, Mladá fronta Dnes and Sport. The thesis brings the answers to the main research question how the media image of the most successful Czechoslovak runner was developed in the context of political and that time contemporary situation and it also explains the other questions that are focused on the causes of this possible change and the difference between the presentation of mass media during the communist and later also democratic regime. The thesis introduces one of the most important personalities of the Czech musical pedagogy of the last century - professor PaedDr. Jaroslav Herden, CSc. Its aim of the thesis is to present the wide range of pedagogical activities he practiced. The thesis consists of six main chapters dealing with Herden's life with the focus on his musical activities, his education and professional growth. The chapters analyse Herden's experience at the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague and his publication and broadcast activities. This work also mentions the Summer School of Music, as Herden was its founder. The last part of the thesis focuses on the heritage of this extraordinary personage.

Title: The influence of two different lower limb exercises on the speed of skating during dry land training in young ice hockey players aged 17 to 20. Aim: The aim of this study was comparation of the effect of two variations in preseason pre preparation on speed of skating. Methods: The hockey players in the age from 17 to 20, who have been training ice hockey for 12 - 14 years, have been watched. The hockey players have been divided into two groups on the base of the technology of the skating. The speed of the skating, have been measured at all hockey players at the beginning of the watching. Then the hockey players have absolved the summer preparation. The capacity of the training has been the same for both groups (the amount of the lessons, frequency, etc.). The difference was in the way of performing of some exercises, mainly the exercising of the legs. The first group has been doing the exercises in the "speed" form, while the second group has been doing the exercises in the " strength" form. The effect of the used training has been controlled by the motoric tests. The speed of the ice skating has been evaluated again before the beginning of the playing season. Supervisor's e-mail address: jaroslava.kalvova@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Lengths of periods with characteristic air temperatures were derived using two different methods (linear interpolation, robust locally weighted regression) for 10 stations in the Czech Republic and for output data of regional climate models HIRHAM and RCAO in 4 grid points. Averages for a forty-year period (1961-2000) and for a thirty-year period (1961-1990) were computed as well as averages for every decade. Considerable attention was also paid to the analysis of methods used in the research. Most stations showed lengthening of growing season and summer during the twentieth century. Decennary average length of growing season and summer shortened in the years 1971-1980. The comparison of output data of regional climate models HIRHAM and RCAO and measured station data showed that the thirty-year average lengths of growing season and summer estimated by the two models were reasonably accurate approximately half of all cases.
