Let's Play videa z pohledu autorského práva / Let's Play videos from the point of view of copyright law

Hálek, Jakub January 2018 (has links)
Let's Play videos from the point of view of copyright law Abstract This Master's Thesis examines Let's Play videos (that are a new but significant and popular part of the entertainment industry) from the point of view of copyright law, especially the Czech one. The view of the European Union law is of course not omitted. With respect to the global nature of the issue, the Thesis includes selected foreign legislation, case law and expert opinions. Since the issue of Let's Play videos is new and almost unexplored, this Thesis examines and defines not only Let's Play videos but also their creators. It also identifies sources of income from Let's Play videos, persons involved and their interests, which can collide with each other. Given the existential interdependence of Let's Play videos on videogames, this Thesis examines even some relevant copyright aspects of videogames. Besides the question of copyright classification of Let's Play videos, the Thesis also deals with not so obvious consequences of such classification. There are analyzed possible legal titles for the use of video games and their elements in the creation, publication and monetization of Let's Play videos as well. Subsequently, this Thesis also examines and analyses the current worldwide licensing practice in this field. Despite the fact, that...

Michelle Obamová jako první dáma: Případová studie / What type of First Lady Was Michelle Obama: Case Study on Michelle Obama as First Lady

Matějčková, Anna January 2019 (has links)
This Master's Thesis analyzes various roles that First Ladies of the United States take upon when their spouses are elected President of the United States. Even though the role of First Ladies is undefined, the public still expects a certain level of manners and dedication to their selected causes. The influence of First Ladies is, on the one hand limited by the fact that they do not have any real policies to follow. On the other hand, the platform of First Ladyship offers a great deal to influence and ability to raise awareness to causes they care about. The main argument is that Mrs. Obama had a particular skill to promote her initiatives and to turn negative attention by the media to the rights directions. Additionally, she was able to get the attention of corporations and state officials to help her make a real impact on her initiatives. Her authenticity and fun engaging style helped her with engaging young people into her campaigns and her status of popular First Lady. Therefore, the goal of this thesis is to find out how the role of First Lady changed during Michelle Obama's term as First Lady and what kind of influence her initiatives brought. Finally, the analyses shows that Michelle Obama was a very active First Lady that pushed the role of the First Lady forward. Her well though...

“Should I switch?” Controversies created by an advice column

Lehman, Sandra Elizabeth 05 January 2011 (has links)
In 1990’s, the circumstances of being a contestant on a popular game show were published in a trendy question and answer column in Parade Magazine. If contestant switched from the initial choice to a second choice offer by the host, would the chances of winning the desired prize be increase? The columnist’s response to the reader sparked a good deal of controversy among mathematicians. Shortly after the publication of this answer, articles appeared in various mathematical publications some supporting and some refuting the columnist’s answer. This document reports the results of research into the controversy generated by some of the probability problems used on Let’s Make a Deal game show. Using a variety of approaches and assumption, the author attempts to formulate mathematical proof to explain the correct answer to the contestant’s question, “Should I switch?” / text

Marketing health issues to tweens : recommendations for reaching this demographic more effectively

Kelly, Erin Joy 20 February 2012 (has links)
This paper explores public health campaigns as they relate to tweens and their use of technology. After considering how this demographic utilizes both traditional and new media, further examination was done on general health problems that affect this group. Three major health issues were then chosen for analysis. A relevant campaign for each issue was also evaluated, as were its overall marketing and communication efforts. The health problems and corresponding campaigns chosen include childhood obesity and the “Let’s Move” campaign, electronic aggression and the “Stop Bullying” campaign and youth suicide and the “WeCanHelpUs” campaign. From these analyses, recommendations for ways to improve each campaign were provided, as were general conclusions for reaching this demographic more efficiently and effectively. / text

The Shifting Web of Trust : Exploring the Transformative Journey of Certificate Chains in Prominent Domains / Förtroendets Föränderliga Väv : Att Utforska den Transformativa Resan av Certifikatkedjor av Populära Domäner

Döberl, Marcus, Freiherr von Wangenheim, York January 2023 (has links)
The security and integrity of TLS certificates are essential for ensuring secure transmission over the internet and protecting millions of people from man-in-the-middle attacks. Certificate Authorities (CA) play a crucial role in issuing and managing thesecertificates. This bachelor thesis presents a longitudinal analysis of certificate chains forpopular domains, examining their evolution over time and across different categories. Using publicly available certificate data from sources such as crt.sh and censys.io, we createda longitudinal dataset of certificate chains for domains from the Top 1-M list of Tranco. We categorized the certificates based on their type, and the particular service categories. We analyzed a selected set of domains over time and identified the patterns and trendsthat emerged in their certificate chains. Our analysis revealed several noteworthy trends, including an increase in the use of new CAs and a shift of which types of certificates areused, we also found a trend in shorter certificate chains and fewer paths from domain toroot certificate. This implies a more streamlined and simplified certificate process overtime until today. Our findings have implications for the broader cybersecurity communityand demonstrate the importance of ongoing monitoring and analysis of certificate chainsfor popular domains.

”I really hope you guys are enjoying this. Thank you so much for watching!” : En kvalitativ och kvantitativ studie av interaktionen mellan YouTubare och deras publik / ”I really hope you guys are enjoying this. Thank you so much for watching!” : A qualitative and quantitative study of the interaction between YouTubers and their audience

Källback Winter, William, Backman, Tove January 2016 (has links)
The overall purpose of this essay, “‘I really hope you guys are enjoying this. Thank you so much for watching!’ - a qualitative and quantitative study of the interaction between YouTubers and their audience", is to study how YouTubers that play and comment video games interact with their audience, what kind of response these YouTubers receive and the interaction between viewers and fans in these YouTubers comment sections. This essay also studies if there is a difference between the response female and male YouTubers receive. The study is based on theories about fan culture, participation culture, collective intelligence, feminism and gender. A quantitative content analysis has been used to analyze 600 comments on six YouTube videos uploaded by six different YouTubers. The purpose of the quantitative analysis was to see what content of the comments most often occur as well as if the comment showed a positive, negative or neutral view of the YouTuber. The result of the quantitative analysis was used as a base for a qualitative critical discourse analysis, which also studied how the YouTubers behaved in the videos. The results of this study showed that the YouTubers mostly received positive comments about their personalities and their YouTube channel. They mostly received negative comments about the way they play the game. The female YouTubers received more negative comments than the male YouTubers, who in turn received more positive comments. The study also showed that YouTubers interact by talking directly to the audience and looking into the camera, by using the word “we” when talking about how they play the game as if they are playing with the audience, by asking the audience questions and by answering comments that the YouTubers have received. The YouTubers engage their audience by using strong expressions and by playing the game during a livestream. The YouTubers’ fans engage and interact by showing appreciation of the YouTubers and defend the YouTubers when they receive negative comments in the comment section of their videos. These ways which YouTubers interact with and engage their audience can be seen as part of a discourse about interaction and engagement online.

No. of bitstreams: 1 DissMEMF.pdf: 1928126 bytes, checksum: 16d2b42091b2741c7212cb9748f1aac8 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-09-21 / Não recebi financiamento / Considering that the construction of sustainable social practices are central goals to guide the education of citizens in any learning context the Ministry of Education (MEC) has prepared the Progran “Let’s take care of Brazil” with sustainable schools which provides guidelines for the development of environmental education practices in schools. To participate in this program the school must present an ongoing project, addressing social and environmental issues in which the student is the subject of their learning in order to reach a personal, collective, conscious and critical training. Thus, among the objectives of this research are highlighted as follows: describe and analyze the development of the Program proposed by Ministry of Education (MEC) “Let’s take care of Brazil with sustainable schools / COM –VIDA” in school E.E. Antonio Padilha, located in Sorocaba-SP between the years 2013 and 2014, describe and analyze the practices developed by COM-VIDA and identify practices related to sustainability of those involved in the project. The methodology that leads this research is the study of qualitative case, as the case study focuses on a particular event revealing its peculiarities. For data collection were used different methods such as document analysis, participant observation, questionnaires and semi-structured interview. The Project began timidly in 2013 with the realization of practices that motivated students to participate in the IV National Children and Youth Conference for the Environment and as a result, we have the first group of students who started actions of environmental education at school. In 2014, such actions kept leading the construction of the COM-VIDA, a discussion space on environmental issues, providing carrying out actions to improve the quality of life and sustainability in the school environment. The implementation of the program and the construction of the COM-VIDA, provided to students of elementary school (6º to 9º years) practical experiences in environmental education focused on sustainability. The workshops COM-VIDA, guided in education for sustainability, the students had the opportunity to identify, discuss and propose solutions to local environmental and social problems. Among these activities are the awareness Project “Sustainability without being cliché” about the waste and proper disposal of garbage with the implementation of selective collection in our school, and growing food in the school garden. All activities were designed by the students themselves are the main protagonists in this process. Through these experiences for building theory knowledge about sustainability, it has been built their environmental identities. The move COM-VIDA has made the theme enter therein in the school environment both by students and by the managment staff causing small changes in individual and collective attitudes of the entire school community.
