Zdravý životní styl v České republice / A Healthy life style in Czech RepublicBuriánková, Jitka January 2019 (has links)
This work gives an elementary insight into the issue of healthy lifestyles in terms of different perspectives, and so in this respect, we can follow up on Cockerham's study (2005), which offers a comprehensive paradigm of exploring a healthy lifestyle. The key issue lies in the debate on whether the choice of a healthy lifestyle is subject to structural influences or to individuals' choices (the classical problem of structure and behavior). The main aim of this work is to verify the determination of individual components of a healthy lifestyle. Due to the difficulty of finding one indicator, we examine separately the conditionality of healthy eating, smoking, drinking, sports. In the analysis of individual dimensions of a healthy lifestyle, we take into account not only the basic socio-demographic variables, but also the knowledge, attitude, well-being and compensation strategy as mediating factors of a healthy lifestyle. Enriching the analysis offers the inclusion of compensatory theory, because these strategies weaken the rationality of action. Compensation strategies play an important role in risky behavior. In this, our knowledge in the Czech environment is unique. The hypotheses are verified on a representative set of research "Aktér 2013" (N = 1088), carried out by STEM, which included...

Hodnota skoků: komodifikace a sportizace parkouru / The Value of Jumps: Commodification and Sportization of ParkourZemánek, Vojtěch January 2019 (has links)
The Value of Jumps: commodification and sportization of parkour Abstract: The subject of this thesis is a young urban lifestyle discipline called parkour. In the past couple of years parkour gained a lot of popularity in Czech Republic. Connected with that is also the exploration of the ways to get parkour into the state of commodity. At the same time parkour as a sport is finding its place in public discourse. An ethnographic research that is the basis for this thesis is following the flowline of two processes - commodification and sportization. Based on data created using participant observation and semi-structured interviews I describe how these processes are manifested, how they are connected and how they are interpreted by the actors on the Czech parkour scene. I argue that both sportization and commodification influence how traceurs and traceuses make sense of their discipline. Both processes seem to play an important role in the construction of authenticity in parkour. At the end I describe certain trends and changes in parkour that can be considered results of commodification and sportization of this discipline. Key words: parkour, commodity, commodification, sportization, lifestyle sport

Cognitive Engagement in Later Life: Descriptive and Explanatory FindingsAbdullah, Bashir 12 1900 (has links)
Findings on the relationship between engagement in lifestyle and cognitive functioning are not consistent; some authors report that engagement in lifestyle predicts an individual's cognitive functioning; while other report that an individual's cognitive functioning predicts the type and level of engagement an individual participates in. The current study will use longitudinal data (N = 235) to investigate the bidirectional relationship between engagement (engaged lifestyle activities) and cognition (crystallized & fluid intelligence). Despite inconsistent findings it is proposed that cognitive functioning may be better understood when examining how stimulation of activity, need for cognition, and openness to experience affect engagement in an active lifestyle. As such the current study will investigate if stimulation of activity, need for cognition, and openness to experience moderate the relationship between engaged lifestyles and cognitive functioning. The results, limitations and implications are discussed.

D4Active : Helhetssystem för diabetesvårdFransson, Anna, Stare, Andrea January 2020 (has links)
The D4Active concept, a complete diabetes care system, was founded by two former innovation engineering students. Autumn 2019 Andrea Stare and Anna Fransson took over the D4Active development and during the last year of development, the system has gone from a concept to a functioning wireless prototype system that can demonstrate the most important functions of diabetes care. D4Active provides a package solution consisting of only three essential units for diabetes care; a central communication device in the form of an interactive application, a divisible insulin pump and a sensor that can measure current insulin levels in the body. D4Actives application follows the strict medical regulations for health care products. The target group consist of people diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Living with diabetes means that the body cannot naturally produce insulin that keeps the body's glucose levels stable. Through market research and interviews with focus groups, consisting of diabetics, relatives of diabetics who are not often indispensable to the affected and diabetic nurses, the system is developed with the user in focus. We aim to promote good health by enabling a more active lifestyle for diabetics; with our application they can gather the necessary care units and data in one system. In short, the system reduces the number of care units for diabetics to carry with them, which increases mobility and the possibility of a more active everyday life. In addition, we have focused on developing and strengthening the units' lifecycle and durability by retaining the components that are unnecessarily discarded, when in fact they could be used more.

Longevity: translation of aging theories into actionMiller, Roy 16 July 2020 (has links)
Healthspan describes the length of time an individual lives without
disability or chronic disease. Characteristic to aging is the risk for the onset of
both through a progressive accumulation of deficits in normal physiologic
function. In the past, the declines associated with aging were simply accepted as
inevitable. Today, longevity research has undergone a meteoric rise in popularity.
This is due to several landmark studies demonstrating that what was once thought
of as inevitable has potential to be delayed. This thesis aims to consolidate current
theories of biochemical processes believed to underlie aging, and explore their
interconnections. Furthermore, current pharmaceutical and lifestyle interventions
being studied to promote longevity and target these specific pathways will be
analyzed for safety and practicality for use in a primary care setting. Through a
shift from symptom-based care to personalized preventative care, the goal is to
maximize function into older age and empower individuals to live life to the
fullest well beyond what was previously imagined.

This study aims to generate increased understanding for, and to portray, the mobile lifestyle vanlife by examining motives, obstacles and potential consequences of this particular lifestyle. The study was conducted using qualitative method. The selection of study participants was aimed towards people who own or have owned a mobile home and lives or have lived in it periodically at the least. The selection was interviewed through semi structured interviews, and the empiric material was analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that vanlife can be seen as a form of voluntary simplicity because it’s a minimalistic lifestyle both in terms of resource- and energy consumption and because of the simpler dwelling. Vanlife can also be seen as a form of lifestyle migration because of the great importance of the destination to people within vanlife, but also because they can move to these places whenever they feel due to the flexible mobility of their homes. The strongest motive is freedom in various aspects – such as freedom to travel but also financial freedom. Another strong motive is the feeling of belonging to a community. The opinions about the environmental impact of the lifestyle are divided among the participants, but some testify of negative impacts on local environments. Cold weather and safety concerns are some of the obstacles to vanlife, and a feeling of not belonging anywhere are one of the consequences. Additionally, vanlifers don’t want to be confused with people living at traditional camping grounds.

Tienda de Conveniencia Eco amigable de productos orgánicos y saludables "Qhali Store" / Eco-friendly convenience store for organic and healthy products "Qhali Store"Carranza Rojas, Franco Alfredo, Chavez Tirado, Gabriel Fernando, Dorador Macera, Ricardo Martin, Ore Alvarado, Juan Carlos 13 July 2020 (has links)
The objective of this research work is to demonstrate the viability, profitability and durability of the project by developing an eco-friendly convenience store for organic and healthy products - QHALI STORE. Store that satisfies the concern for health care, well-being and lifestyle that is growing in the country. The opportunity to meet this market need is presented, through developing a retail store (convenience store) of high-quality organic products, and products that have little scope or market coverage in the city of Lima. These products provide great benefits to the human body and the environment. The research of the present study used a qualitative and quantitative methodology through surveys, which concludes in an unattended market need with great potential for growth.
Qhali Store will use digital marketing channels such as social networks or web pages to reach and connect with its target audience, which is initially made up of a sector of Zone 7 of Metropolitan Lima where the largest population of consumers with a healthy lifestyle is found. In order to capture more income and increase transactions, there will be 2 sales channels, such as visits to a physical store (convenience store), web purchases or purchases through social networks, where the participation of delivery stands out.
Finally, a feasibility study of the project was carried out, demonstrating its viability in the commercial and financial areas. With an investment of 106,175.00 soles, financed with 50% with a contribution from the shareholders and 50% financed with a bank loan with a term of 5 years, and an interest rate of 25%. / Trabajo de investigación
