This thesis focuses on virtual world Second Life and its creator company Linden Lab. The theoretical part introduces elements of web, social networks and virtual worlds in general. The practical part of the thesis presents Second Life in detail, describes the possibilities for individuals and real-life institutions, together with the present achievements in individual fields. The company Linden Lab is presented in a separate chapter and its present income is estimated and then predicted from statistics of Second Life. The final chapter summarizes the potential barriers to further growth.

Should the elementary schools of the Linden Union High School District consolidate into larger administrative units in order to improve educational services? To determine if a plane of reorganization is feasible answers will be sought for the following questions: (1) What is the financial ability of the existing school districts?; (2) Are there inequalities in the economic burden of support?; (3) Are there educational inequalities?; (4) Is widespread transportation feasible?; (5) What are the population trends?; (6) What barriers affect district reorganization?; (7) Where are the community interest centers?; (8) What reorganization is educationally sound?

Plants mature a different quantity of pollen in different time, though fixing changes are typical even to the pollen of the same species. Phytophenological data is also important to the investigation of the pollen dispersion., thus the detailed analysis of this data is essential for the evaluation of the pollen quantity and duration of the seasons.

The purpose of this study was to examine the production and marketing behavior of pineapple farmers in the Soesdyke/Linden Land Development Project in Guyana. A random sample was drawn from eight locations in the project and 51 personal interviews were conducted with pineapple farmers. Emphasis was placed on ascertaining the current levels and use of basic inputs in the production process as well as determining the profitability of pineapple production. The nature an extent of the infra-structure provided by government to the project were also examined. Attention was given to the work done on providing roads and transportation as well as government funding for the project. The resource endowments of the Soesdyke/Linden Region were described in relation to the production of pineapples form the Soesdyke/Linden Development (S.L.L.D.P.). The outcome of the study showed that although pineapple production was still a profitable venture many resources were under utilized. there was a scope for employing better management and production techniques. The Infra-structure provided by government was incomplete. There was a lack of transportation facilities and a poor distribution system for pineapples, and operational and pricing efficiency were still to be attained in the processing sector of the marketing channel.
