do ambiente LMS Amadeus

Date adjustment tools : Date rollover and Individual date adjustmentThelander, Anton January 2016 (has links)
Learning Management Systems (LMSs) have become a larger part of teaching and learning in the modern world. Therefore has Moodle, a free and open source e-learning tool surfaced and gained a lot of attraction and downloads. A purpose of this study has been to develop a new local plugin in Moodle with guidelines from Magnus Eriksson and Tsedey Terefe. A purpose for this project has also been to build a plugin which has the functions Date rollover and Individual date adjustment. Mid Sweden University (Miun) stated that WebCT/Blackboard was in use before Moodle and some other LMSs and the dissatisfaction with WebCT/Blackboard was rife, however some teachers liked it. Therefore WebCT/Blackboard was abandoned and Moodle was embraced. The methods of gaining information has generally been web based sources and three interviews, likewise called user tests. Programs and other aids that have been used include but are not limited to: Google Drive, LTI Provider, Moodle, Moodle documentation, Notepad++, PHP and XAMPP. The plugin has been implemented as a local plugin. The result has shown that the coded plugin, Date adjustment tools could be improved and that it was changed. In the plugin, support for old American English dates were added and the code for using the two functions “Date rollover” and “Individual date adjustment” were rewritten to not interfere with one another. A conclusion to draw from the result is that the plugin has been improved from Terefe’s implementation, although more work can be made with the plugin Date adjustment tools.

Neural Networks and Smart Antennae : A Case StudyVarada, Shanmukha Shri Sri January 2005 (has links)
This dissertation evaluates the artificial neural technique for evolving a smart antenna system. The AI techniques pose a challenging research in the field of communication. As such the antennas help to communicate with the digital processor to choose the desired signals and reject the others. It makes its own decision even to find the level of interferences and noises to be discarded by amplitude elimination process through the use of perceptron optimization algorithms like LMS (Least Mean Squares). This method helps to enhance the performance of signal processing efficiently. The design of hardware and software are quite complex. This is due to the fact, that the behaviour of the system is not fully understood being a real-time dependent system. This research work is carried only on software with certain simulated activity on beam-formation algorithm and as well, the system responses before and after using the adaptive algorithm. In this report, we try to concentrate to work on the method of adaptivity to make antenna adaptable to a virtual form of real-time environment. For, this reason a two-element antenna is used for simulation testing, as it is the most commonly used antenna for all purposes in communication. It is also tested on various scanning levels of rotation to determine the learning rate (a parameter that has no effect on the radiation output after using LMS) mean-square error rates and convergence analysis. For the purpose of above mentioned tests, three hypotheses are framed in relation to side-lobe reduction level above 5 decibels, the narrowing of the beam after adaptivity and finally the response of the main beam output for varying values of learning rate, respectivelty. The given research work, may comprehend good practical use of this LMS algorithm and also to indicate antenna patterns and the responses to adaptivity conditions through clarity in graphical format. The method is influenced to reduce computational complexity and bring simplicity to the functionality of the antenna with more efficient and effective adaptivness. An effort to test theoretical concepts in practice is also been made in this thesis work. The results show that the antenna system can be made to evolve itself through the process of adaptation with simple behaviour by relying on artificial intelligence technique which ensures little supervision and human intereference. Eventually, it is understood that the reader should have possessed prior concepts, related to antennas, digital signal processing and its practical usage in artificially intelligent systems and as well the exceptions in it, since the work is explained in the direct level assuming so.

Clinical Considerations for Preterm Infant Growth Curves Regarding Distributions and RaceWotiz, Samantha 08 August 2017 (has links)
Clinicians use growth curves to assess infant health. Most children are measured on growth curves that contain percentiles for height, weight, and head circumference by sex. Preterm infants have their own growth curves. Infants who present with measurements below the 10th percentile are considered small-for-gestational age (SGA), and infants who present with measurements above the 90th percentile are considered large-for-gestational age (LGA). Growth curves and centiles can be generated using 3 and 4 parameter distribution models. To date, no studies have been published to investigate whether growth curves generated using a 3- or 4-parameter model differ significantly. Additionally, researchers have found mixed results when exploring the association between race and pregnancy/delivery. Black mothers may have greater risks and babies with lower weights than babies born to White mothers (Borrell, Rodriguez-Alvarez, Savitz, & Baquero, 2016), and growth curves that do not consider race may misclassify non-White babies (Buck-Louis et al., 2015). In this study, I had two specific aims: (1) to compare the preterm infant growth curves and centiles generated using 3 and 4 parameter methods (Lamba Mu Sigma [LMS] and Box-Cox Power Exponential [BCPE], respectively) and assess each model for adequate fit, and (2) to use percentile cut points from race-specific and non-race-specific LMS curves to classify babies in a validation dataset as SGA or LGA. Regarding the differences in curves generated from the LMS and BCPE distributions, the curves produced using the BCPE distribution had a lower GAIC in some cases but model fit criteria for the LMS curves were adequate. The simpler models generated by the LMS method were retained for birth length, head circumference, and weight by sex with an explanatory variable of gestational age. For aim 2, results indicated that race-specific curves classified babies within expected ranges. Non-race-specific curves overidentified Black babies as SGA and underidentified them as LGA. More research is required to test if this relationship persists for babies delivered at full term.

Kampen om ett handlingsutrymme : En studie av lärares diskretionära arbete i en digital lärplattform / The struggle for autonomy : A study of teachers' discretionary workPalm, Josefin January 2020 (has links)
This study explores teachers’ autonomy in relation to the implementation of a new Learning Management Systems (LMS). The purpose of this study is to study teachers’ work in relation to a new digital teaching tool to gain knowledge of how it can have impact on teacher autonomy. The research design was inspired by a mixed methods approach. The empirical data consists of a digital survey with 40 responding teachers, followed by six qualitative interviews with teachers. The research design later expanded by also including four qualitative interviews with school principles. The data was analyzed in light of Lortie’s (1969) conception of semi-professionals; Freidson’s (2001) theory of the logics of profession, market and bureaucracy; and Water’s (1989) theory of collegial structures. The result of this study indicates that the LMS has an impact on teacher’ autonomy by shifting focus from teaching for substantial knowledge to “teaching for the test”; and by giving parents and students a narrow insight into the teachers’ discretional work, which can challenge the discretion. However, the result also indicates that the teachers maintained autonomy by only using the LMS to a limited extent. This decision space, to choose whether or not use the tool, was understood as organized by the principals through collegial relations with the teachers.
