Alopatrická evoluce u kaloňů rodu Rousettus: od populační a krajinné genetiky k fylogeografii / Allopatric evolution in rousettine fruit bats: from population and landscape genetics to phylogeographyStříbná, Tereza January 2018 (has links)
Population structure, biogeography and phylogenetic relationships of the fruit bat genus Rousettus have been studied in Africa and adjacent regions. The current population patterns of rousettine fruit bats in the Old World are influenced by several environmental attributes, namely the topography, climate and land cover. These variables are mirrored in fruit bat plesiomorphies related to the ecological niche of tropical flying frugivore, as well as apomorphies of rousettines including echolocation ability, roosting in caves and dispersal capacity in open landscapes with discontinuous tree cover. Phylogenetic relationships among species and subspecies of the genus have been indicated and confronted with the existing colonization scenarios. Insular populations (including habitat islands within desert oases) show frequent genetic differentiation from their mainland relatives suggesting successful founder events after traversing stretches of unsuitable habitats. Genetic differentiation evolving in less distant islands suggests involving behavioural mechanisms maintaining cohesion of isolated demes as site fidelity and natal habitat-biased dispersal. In sub-Saharan mainland Africa within the large range reaching from the southern border of Sahara to Cape Peninsula, Rousettus populations share a...

Zahraničně-politické nástroje malých států - ekonomická a veřejná diplomacie Taiwanu / Instruments of foreign policy of small states - Taiwan's economic and public diplomacyPrůchová, Kristýna January 2012 (has links)
Taiwan is still in partial diplomatic isolation. As a small country with a limited share in world affairs is not only limited by his specific requirements, but also to the instruments that are entitled to use. The only way to escape from this situation means expanding the number of diplomatic allies and efforts for integration into international structures. Recommended tools for small state foreign policy used to achieve its objectives, primarily by soft power. Based on the classification of Taiwan as a small state, the recommended instruments are of public and economic diplomacy. They act through creating a positive image of the country abroad and various forms of foreign assistance. Taiwan needs to gather as much support from the general public in different countries. A strong motivation for him is his effort to build its own space and fixed position for national survival and growth in China's shadow. By defining each of the central concepts, integrating Taiwan into the actual facts and the application of selected instruments for Taiwan's foreign policy terms there is built a connection between the small states issue and areas of economic and public diplomacy as soft power tools of Taiwan's foreign policy.

Fenomén Almodóvar (Prolínání "malých světů" v díle Pedra Almodóvara) / Phenomenon Almodóvar (The Interdigitation of "Small Worlds" in the Work of Pedro Almodóvar)Turčan, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
CHARLES UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE FACULTY OF HUMANITIES Department of Electronic Culture and Semiotics Bc. Jakub Turčan Phenomenon Almodóvar (The Interdigitation of "Small Worlds" in the Work of Pedro Almodóvar) Thesis Supervisor: Mgr. Josef Fulka, Ph.D. Thesis Abstract Prague 2013 Abstract The paper focuses on the problem of authorship by means of an in-depth analysis of the film work of the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. The analysis is preceded by setting the author's work in the context of its origin, introduction of its so far existing content, as well as the concepts this work employs. Due to the hypertextual character of this postmodern oeuvre, the study is based on the concept of small worlds by Umberto Eco, hence the worlds of fiction with limited content in comparison to the actual world. The complete film work is perceived as a self- contained, yet within its character an ever open Text. The interdigitation of its small worlds is understood as a series of intratextual references, however the work also monitors its intertextual and, as a blend of these two, the transtextual content. Presenting the directors unique signature, combining several known approaches of the film creation with his own style- constituting elements, the analysis adduces the auteurist character - first described by the film...

Podpora výzkumu a vývoje: cesta ke zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti podniků / R&D support: the way how to increase enterprises’ competitivenessBočková, Nina January 2015 (has links)
This dissertation investigates the possibilities of increased use of direct and indirect support for R&D in small and medium-sized companies operating in branches of the manufacturing industry in the Czech Republic and specialising in the production of computers and electronic and optical instrumentation and equipment. The choice of the topic of this work was motivated by personal experience in a field in which companies either have not had enough information to take advantages of subsidies for research and development or have had negative experience relating to applications for direct support for research and development. These facts have presented obstacles to the realisation of research and development in corporate practice. The aim of this dissertation is to propose a methodology for the use of available tools in support for research and development in the Czech Republic and its verification against real data from selected companies. Data from primary and secondary research was used to investigate the selected area of academic knowledge. A questionnaire investigation was performed on the basis of knowledge obtained from detailed research of Czech and foreign literary sources. The respondents were companies in the electronic industry. The dissertation presents the results of empirical research and an assessment of research questions relating to a comparison of a selected sample of companies actively realising research and development with companies engaged merely in production with no innovative processes. On the basis of questionnaire processing and the testing of research questions, a methodology was created for small and medium-sized companies with the use of fuzzy logic facilitating decision-making in the financing of research and development activities with the use of direct and indirect support. Use of the proposed methodology will allow companies to expand sources of financing for the innovation process as an essential part of the competitive battle in the industry in question. The methodology is a significant aid for strategic decision-making in small and medium-sized companies considering the introduction of research, development and innovation. Benefits of this dissertation can be seen not merely on the theoretical and practical level, but also in the area of education.

Montessori školy na malém městě / Montessori school in a small townKelblová, Lucie January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis describes the role of Montessori schools in a small town. In large cities, the range of educational opportunities is more varied; in a small town, Montessori schools are often the only alternative to regular primary schools. For the purpose of the research, the qualitative design of the multi-case study was chosen. Two schools participated in the research. Through in-depth interviews with five parents, four teachers and two school founders, initial expectations and their fulfillment were identified from the perspective of all groups of respondents. Parents expect a friendly and safe environment, an individual approach, and respect for the child, a cooperative environment, a stimulating way of teaching, support for the children's internal motivation, freedom and responsibility at the same time. Teachers' expectations consisted in the possibility of applying alternative ways of teaching with regard to the individuality of the pupil, respecting the approach and cooperating team. The founders wanted to create a friendly school based on the principles of Maria Montessori, which will be affordable for ordinary families and will be able to provide quality education to a wide range of children, including those with special needs. The expectations of all three groups of respondents were...

Vliv malých vodních nádrží na výskyt extrémních odtokových epizod v povodí horní Otavy / Impact of small water reservoirs on the occurrence of extreme runoff episodes in the upper Otava River basinŠmrhová, Zuzana January 2014 (has links)
The main objective of this thesis is to prove the influence of small water reservoirs on the extreme runoff situations in a watershed of upper Otava River. The system of small water reservoirs represents an effective part of flood protection, which can be realized without greater changes of landscape. The research part of this thesis includes a summary of knowledge about rainfall-runoff process, small water reservoirs and hydrological modeling. The work is applied to model watershed of Roklanský creek, which is situated in a central part of Šumava Mountains. There are a few rain gauges and laser sensors situated in this watershed, whose are needed for the modeling process. The thesis contains a selection of appropriate data and methods for a creation of digital model of terrain. This digital model of terrain is used for creation of most of the parameters, whose are used for modeling of rainfall- runoff process. This modeling is done in hydrological modeling program HEC - HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center - Hydrologic Modeling System). HEC - HMS is one of the most used simulation programs. The main part of the thesis is a simulation of rainfall-runoff process, applied to two real rainfall-runoff episodes. Next important part of the thesis is a comparison of this simulation with and without...

Komunitní strategické plánování jako nástroj rozvoje města / Community strategic planning as an instrument for city developmentKrajčovič, Linda January 2012 (has links)
The objective of the thesis is to verify the method of community based approach to strategic regional planning as an instrument of local development. The emphasis is put on the public participation and the consequences that result from this approach. The methodology of the thesis is based on the critical analysis of particular steps during the preparation of one particular plan - Strategic regional plan of Vodňany. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threads of community based strategic regional planning are formulated. The main hypothesis is confirmed - the community based approach to strategic planning is the proper method for designing a strategic plan in a small town, on the assumption that the political representation has a positive approach to the concept and the public is also involved and interested in the process. It is also confirmed that the strategic regional plan designed using the community based approach has greater chance to be implemented than the strategic plan designed using the expert method. Last but not least it is validated that while working out the participation project some new relations and connections are formed bewteen the participants which might cause establishing the social network that strenghten a formation of a social capital in the locality. Příprava prasečích indukovaných pluripotentních kmenových buněk - model Huntingtonovy choroby. / Generation of porcine induced pluripotent stem cells - a model of Huntington disease.Svobodová, Eliška January 2013 (has links)
Stable porcine ES cell lines have not been succesfully established yet. Ability to selfrenew or to differentiate has been limited in different porcine ES-like cell lines so far. PiPSCs represent an alternative to pESCs. PiPSCs can be generated by reprogramming of somatic cells by introduction of several transcription factors on viral vectors and were established by several groups. However, the majority of piPS cell lines depend on transgene expression because of incomplete reprogramming and weak activation of endogenous pluripotency genes. Transgene expression can infuence differentiation potential of piPSCs. Therefore, we have used integrative and reexcisable PiggyBac transposons to generate viral free piPSCs. At the same time, small molecules (low-molecular inhibitors) with potential to increase reprogramming efficiency and to activate endogenous pluripotency genes were used in the reprogramming media. This strategy has a potential for generation of naive piPSCs. Successful excision of transgenes would generate transgene-free piPSCs with uncompromised differentiation potential. Pig (Sus Scrofa) is at the same time an important animal model in preclinical stage research of the diseases. Somatic cells used for generation of piPSCs were isolated from pigs carrying mutated huntingtin. Integration of the...
