Utveckling av miljövänligt hjälpmedel för användning av tandtråd : Development of an environmentally friendly tool for the use of dental flossLanger, Mathias January 2017 (has links)
The thesis work is conducted during the spring semester 2017 for the university engineering program in Innovation Technology and Design at Karlstad University. The assignment starts on the project leader's own initiative.Using dental floss daily gives an improved oral health and prevents inflammation and infections that can occur inside the mouth. In order to facilitate dental thread use, the most common solution is to use so-called Plackers or similar products, a small plastic handle where the thread is clamped over the bracket. After use, the product is thrown out and that is an unnecessary burden the environment. This project is about finding a new construction that enables reuse of the bracket while also making it more user-friendly.The goal is an easy-to-use product with minimal environmental impact. During this project, the design process is used, which includes a preliminary study with various elements such as market analysis, interviews and user studies, as well as a conceptualization process that includes idea generation, concept generation and conceptual choice.A major part of the project is the construction phase, using the CAD (Computer Aided Design) program Creo Parametric 2.0. The result is presented in the form of a CAD model (3D model) and printed prototype. Many different factors have influence on the construction such as ergonomics, adjustments for future mass production and user-friendliness.Studies on appropriate materials are made and material proposals are submitted. The project results in a model and prototype. The product performs the same function as the dental brackets available today, but this can be reused and thus has a significantly lower environmental impact.

Återanvändning av filtmaterialHansson, Kaisa, Rosén, Sara January 2017 (has links)
The thesis work is a collaboration with the company Nordifa AB. The work is about making use of the waste material Nordifa gets after manufacturing different products and thereby helping the company to contribute to a cleaner environment. With the waste material the company's range of products will be developed. By weighting requirements and function, the students presented a product in terms of the result. This required a new type of tool in three parts to use in the pressing machine. Drawings for this was developed and sent to Plåtcenter who created the prototype tool. The students have used a design process adapted to the project, which gave the opportunity to focus on what’s relevant which in this case meant finding an optimal production process. The process gave five solution proposals, that after the weighting of requirements led to one which was chosen for continued development. The final concept became a production process in which all waste is used and which provides a design that can be used in multiple material rolling processes for different products. With the help of Rapid Granulator AB, the proposal could become a prototype, as they helped to test grind of the material, which led to the result. This solution also minimized manual work, and gives all staff the opportunity to understand and perform the work process. A final concept has been produced and when the project has been completed, the prototype tool has been developed and tested at Nordifa. Further work exists and is based primarily on a decision by Nordifa if they choose to make use of the proposal.

Nötningsrigg för länkkrokar : Länkkrokar för band på skogsmaskiner / Wear rig for link hooks : Link hooks for tracks on forestry machinesLantto, Martin January 2017 (has links)
This project was based on the development of a wear/fatigue rig for link hooks for Olofsfors AB. The goal was to find a solution for this and at a later stage also produce a prototype. The link hooks currently have a significantly shorter life than the rest of the construction. The purpose of the rig is to be able to compare materials against each other in the future, thus developing a better link system. In order to solve the problem and understand it, an analysis of the character of the wear is required. Careful studies were done before the actual work started. After that, the project went through two phases. The first phase was to develop a concept and phase two was then to realize this concept in a 3D prototype. The result ultimately did not meet the goals before the end of the course but is on the right track. There is a well-developed concept in form of a 3D prototype. The remaining work before a real prototype can begin to be manufactured is to review and reinforce the design where needed.

Design of a set of stool and table with a sustainable approach by using DFA and DFE principlesGuil López, Alejandro, Guerrero Valadez, Isabel María January 2017 (has links)
This report covers the conduction of a final thesis project for the University of Skövde in collaboration with Carlos Jimenez Design studio (Spain). The aim of this project was to design and present a set of furniture consisting in a high stool and a high chair of a similar nature to the ones which are usually found in bars, oriented to the domestic environment and to the Scandinavian market. The main special characteristic of this project is that the design has been carried out with a focus on environmental sustainability, which has been approached in such a way that assembly has a big part in it, which at the same time relates to user experience. Therefore, the project combines design for assembly (DFA), design for environment (DFE) and user experience design (UXD) in such a way that all the approaches taken for each of these factors are interrelated in complete and thorough design process, were all the aspects of the final product have been taken into account.

Utveckling av arbetsmodell för att skapa spårbarhet i SME verksamhet Arbetsmodell för spårbarhet / Development of work model to create tracability in SME operationsBorefur, Stefan January 2017 (has links)
An important part of improving the business is to know what the core of the problem is, so-called root cause. When companies detect errors internally or externally on the product, the root cause must be determined to correct it. For manufacturing companies, this step means that details and/or batches should be delimited to certain manufacturing conditions. Can the company make this delimitation and the manufacturing conditions are determined, the root causes can be identified. In order to make this delimitation, traceability is required. The company in this report finds that their traceability does not meet customer requirements or provides the information needed to delineate batches. Therefore, the manufacturing conditions can not be determined and nether the root cause. Attempts made to create traceability have not met the requirements. The purpose of this degree project is to develop a work model that enables traceability based on the company's needs and conditions. Theory is gathered from articles, standards and literature to gain insight into existing knowledge in the field. Based on the theory, what is required to achieve traceability is determined. The current situation of the company is mapped based on interviews and observations and documentation. Based on the overall theory and the mapped current situation, gap analyses are performed to illustrate where the company doesn’t meet the requirements. The analysis results in twelve deficiencies and these deficiencies were analysed to find out what is the underlying problem. In total, six different problems are summarized in a frequency table to demonstrate their impact on the deficiencies. Based on the results of the analysis, a methodology that ensures traceability is compiled. The result was proposals of different nature and scope based on the company's needs. Both theoretical and practical actions was proposed on how the company can achieve traceability.

Utveckling och konstruktion av förstärkningskomponent för en trästol/arJammal, Muhammad Adam January 2020 (has links)
This thesis was carried out without any company therefore the purpose and goal were more adapted to the contractor himself to navigate through to find a suitable solution and construct a detail for a wooden chair to achieve a result that can be applied. The purpose of the work is to come up with a detail/idea/construction of a component that will reinforce and be applied to already manufactured chairs. The method and structure of this work will be based on Professor Fredy Olsson's design process. What will weigh most on this work is based on Fredy Olsson's structure for primary and principle design, which is a good tool for finding the right concept for the component. The project was handled by pushing an idea that ultimately meets the requirements for the purpose and objectives of the problem definition. The priority was to use Catia V5, FEM – analysis and Keyshot 9 to construct a reinforcement idea to ultimately achieve the final product. In conclusion, the work will highlight different concepts, ideas, calculations, and design analysis in order to achieve the result needed.

Vibration Isolation for Electronics on an Autonomous TruckHerder, Erik, Jenåker, Erik January 2020 (has links)
This thesis has been conducted on the behalf of Volvo Autonomous Solutions. Volvo autonomous Solutions is a part of the Volvo Group. The purpose of this thesis was to give a suggestion on an isolation system for the automated driving-system kits in autonomous trucks. First, a literature study was made to give an overview of the problem and already known theories. The literature study gave the students a path forward shown in the book Engineering Vibration by Daniel J. Inman.Secondly, a method was brought out and executed in form of a frequency analysis, analytical solution, FEA-studies and a market analysis. Frequency analysis was created before and after adding any type of isolations system to analyse the eigenfrequencies and determine that there was little risk for resonance to occur against the driven frequency. The analytical solution as well as a FEA-study was conducted to achieve optimal value of spring stiffness, k and damping coefficient, c. Market analysis was made to search the market for suitable isolation system with similar c and k-value. Due to the limitations of the project with lack of space the isolation systems found on the market was either too tall or too stiff (k-value).Conclusions of this thesis contains results such as, little risk for resonance determine by frequency analysis. A first step in the solution process of finding a suitable isolation system.
