Influência do índice de absorção de água de blocos cerâmicos e da temperatura de cura no desempenho mecânico das argamassas de revestimento em substrato cerâmico / The influence of water absortion in ceramic blocks and the temperature of cure in mortars performanceMoreira, Elaine Bahlis January 2006 (has links)
In constructions, mortars has many functions and it’s known that these perfect performance are directly related with the mortar kind, the properties in fresh and hardened stages, as also of the bond properties in which it will be applied. Overhead of one or more of these functions can accelerate the pathological manifestations appearance, things that make that mortars leaves off these functions bringing the user discomfort as well as maintenance costs and repair. The temperature and the air relative humidity, during the cure has influence in the mortar hardening. Therefore it´s true that all day long we have beyond temperatures with great variation. In this context, this dissertation searches to evaluate the mortars performance (industrialized, prepared with lime and prepared with additive) when applied in bricks with 3 water absorption levels, and cured temperatures of 5, 20 and 40°C. For such, the traction strength behavior was verified, beyond analyses in samples for each mortar kind. About the cure temperature, it can be said that the medium temperature (20°C) presented better resulted for the great majority of the combinations between mortars and ceramic bricks. About mortars, the one prepared with lime, the bond with lower water absorption, with medium cure temperature, presented better performance.

Influência do teor de calcário na carbonatação de argamassas de cimento branco / On the influence of limestone content on the carbonation of white cement mortarsWolf, Jairo January 2010 (has links)
The present study aims to quantify white cement mortars carbonation when compared to carbonation of conventional gray cement mortars. In the first part of the research, 12 cements were produced by substitution of 0, 5, 10 and 20% of 3 different clinkers by limestone. Clinker and limestone were ground together, so that there was no control over the fineness of limestone and clinker individually. In the second stage of the research 21 cements were produced, which were formed by adding to clinker 0, 5, 10 and 20% of limestone and a crushed quartz filler with the same fineness of limestone. In this second part of the research the materials were first milled, so that their initial particle size was controlled, criating therefore 21 cements with the same finess and 21 mortars with the same water / binder ratio. The test results of carbonation and porosimetry show that limestone has a potentiating effect on mortars hydration with effective refinement of the porous structure. However, the results show that the performance improvement of cement with limestone is not only due to the limestone effect as a filler, but also due to an improvement in the efficiency of blended cements, possibly due to greater efficiency of the clinkers that were milled together with limestone. White cement mortars showed less carbonation than gray cement mortars, assuming the same water / binder ratio and the same initial specific surface. The results show a possible chemical interaction between limestone and the cement paste that eventually increase carbonation depth. This effect was only observable with high addition contents.

Previous issue date: 2017-06-14 / In Brazil, 65% of the power generation projects are thermal plants. In the state of Ceará
they are responsible for 61.11% of the energy production, highlighting the thermal
plants of Pecém I and Pecém II which together have an installed capacity of 1085MW.
However, the thermal plants have a major environmental liability for its waste
generation, among which stands out the ashes from the combustion of coal (ACC). In
order to give a more suitable destination to this waste, its incorporation into raw
materials may generate sustainable materials. This thesis proposes to apply those
thermal plants’ ashes in mixed mortar of cement and lime, replacing lime by ACC in
contents of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, analyzing the characteristics in fresh state
and hardened states, as well as its durability. Regarding the fresh state’s tests, the
consistency index was fixed and it was quantified the amount of water necessary for
each mixture to reach it. Afterwards, the loss of consistency of each mortar was
evaluated after five and ten minutes. Finally, the rheology was investigated by the
Squeeze-flow method. Regarding the hardened state’s tests, the tensile strength in
flexion, the compressive strength and the tensile strength were evaluated. In the end, the
durability was analyzed through the permeability test by the pipe method and the
cracking aperture lengths. The results were analyzed by an analysis of variance
(ANOVA) and the multiple comparisons of means by the Duncan’s test, using the
software Statistica 7.0. They indicate that its replacement is technically feasible, as
giving a better performance in its workability, resistance and durability. All of the
mortars with ACC have shown an improvement in its characteristics compared to the
reference mortar, and the mortars with more than 75% of ACC stood out among in
resistance, in consistency, and in durability.

combustão do carvão mineral (CCCM).
tanto no estado fresco quanto no estado endurecido.

E-Commerce versus Store Loyalty: An Explorative Study of the Toy IndustryDemangeot, May, Demangeot, Dimitri January 2018 (has links)
This study explores how brick-and-mortars toy retailer face the growing competition thatthe e-commerce is bringing to the market. It was found that the toy industry is reallysensitive to the increasing power online retailers are gaining, and that it is affecting theirstore loyalty. The foundation of this study is interviews of managers and salesman, indirect contact with the clients and their behavioural evolution.e-commerce has been previously studied through other academic researches, but wefound that its impact on brick-and-mortars store loyalty have been left aside and deservedto be studied. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between e-commerce and brickand-mortars, along with understanding it. On a second time, determining if the storeloyalty of brick-and-mortars would be affected so bad by e-commerce that it would meanthe end of the traditional way of retailing. We also aimed to provide solutions, elementsthat could be generalize and applicable for the entire industry, on how brick-and-mortarsshould react to face this growing competition that is online retailing. To meet this purpose,we conducted three interviews in which the respondents shared their thoughts andreflections. The research question we inquire to answer is: “How is the rise of ecommerceimpacting store loyalty for the brick-and-mortars in the toy industry?”.It was found that the brick-and-mortars, in the toys industry, are threatened by the ecommercebecoming more popular towards clients. However, it is no foregoneconclusion, and the interviews we conducted demonstrated that there is room for brickand-mortars in this industry, if they find how to adapt themselves to this new type ofcompetition. Another finding that came out of this study is the importance of bringingadded value to your store, in order to keep your store loyalty at a good level and to notget affected by e-commerce. Future researchers are recommended to develop this subjecton focusing on the customer point of view, or on the overall digitalisation of the retailindustry to get a broader perspective.

Previous issue date: 2007-04-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / In Paraíba, the industry of the kaolin, an activity of great importance to the State and local producers, generating large amounts of waste that is landfilled, impacting the environment. The National Council on the Environment (CONAMA) has been made responsible for waste management to their generators. This residue does not have recycling technology known developed and field of study at the Federal University of Paraíba. Thus, this study aims to evaluate some aspects of waste aggregate and kaolin as filler in mortars and multiple use as pozzolanic material. Physical and mineralogical characterizations of waste were carried out by XRD qualitative and quantitative analysis miscrocópico optical unit mass and size distribution. Several mixtures of mortars were studied, in which combined the waste with cement and / or lime. In order to verify the capability of the residual clay as pozzolanic material, there was an improvement of the waste by grinding and calcination (at 700 º C) and found the rate of pozzolanic activity and fineness (Blaine method). In the natural state the residual clay was tested as a plasticiser in multiple-use mortars and sand as aggregate. The performance of mortars were evaluated using the consistency and retention of water, fresh, compressive strength, bond strength traction, mass density, physical characteristics (absorption by immersion, density and voids) and capillary permeability in the hardened condition, being compared with a reference mortar and other industrialized by the market place. Was also made an assessment of waste heat in mortars, which were calcined up to 700 ° C, and after this calcination, we evaluated the curve tensãodeformação and stiffness of these mortars. The residues of kaolin in the composition contains quartz, mica and kaolinite, and can be classified as sand (locally called behaviors) and clay (locally called lees), according with the content of kaolinite. The clay showed about 55% of kaolinite and sand about 30%, and 58.5% quartz. The law of Abrams was followed for all mortars, with and without waste. The reduction of resistance in mortars with the waste is made more meaningful. Changes in mineralogy and form of particles of waste affected the packaging of them. The behavior of the stress-strain curve and modulus of elasticity for the variation temperature, the mortar with waste were significantly more stable, but lower values. In general, the waste of kaolin paraibanos studied in this work, has the potential to be used as constituent materials for mortar mutiple use, for the mechanical properties evaluated. The application of this waste depends on the content of kaolinite in your existing compoisção.

The great importance of this historic site suggests research in studies on the mortar
coating still exists in parts of the ruin.
Discover the physical and chemical composition is one of the objectives of the
research, which aims to identify the main constituents of the mortar materials, as well as
whether or not the lime and the way it presents itself. In addition, to hypothesize the origin of
the lime used or not of the Misiones region of RS. It also aims to demonstrate the importance
of laboratory tests, such as X-Ray Diffraction, Thermogravimetric Analysis, Scanning
Electron Microscopy (SEM), among others, in research and conservation of monuments.
Through the XRD analysis and ATR-IR was verified using mortar nature calcite as
well as the presence of aragonite in the second set (sacristy) and hydroxyapatite in the first
set (front north). According to the history of the monument there is a probability of calcium
carbonate is, the variation of aragonite, originated from the snail shell snail Physa SP. Kaolin
analysis of this X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis suggests a contamination of the substrate
because the clay brick was spot. With the images obtained by SEM and EDS, showed the
presence of organic fibers and a binder rich in calcium.
The need for preventive conservation of monuments or buildings of historical interest
makes this work of investigative and scientific nature. The knowledge of the original materials
and the use of compatible materials for restoration is the first step to a good intervention and
not to accelerate the deterioration of historic buildings.
hidroxiapatita no conjunto 1 (fachada Norte).
