Motivace učitelů ze strany vedení ve vybrané škole / School Administration Motivating Teachers - a Case Study

The current situation on the labor market is not easy for any organization, there is little free labor, but it is possible to work to ensure that employees are satisfied. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find weaknesses in the motivation of employees by management and to propose recommendations to increase the motivation of teachers in a selected primary school. Methodologically, a semi-structured interview and a questionnaire survey were used in the work. In the examined school, the motivation of employees is mainly based on the school management or colleagues. Motivation by the school management is rather random, as the potential of various motivational tools is not used. There are shortcomings in the transparency of remuneration, in the provision of remuneration for voluntary or similar activities, this leads to misunderstandings or feelings of injustice with remuneration. Communication problems, which are mainly related to the lack of feedback, have a demotivating effect, and there are problems in conflicts with parents, when the school management does not provide sufficient support to teachers in such a case. This thesis focuses on the motivation of pupils attending primary school towards the sports activities. The work is divided into theoretical and research section. The theoretical part explains the concepts related to the thesis itself, especially the concepts of leisure activities, physical activities and the concept of sport. Furthermore, the theoretical part is focused on the developmental stages of personalities, the concepts of motivations, incentives, needs, rewards and motivational structure of sportsmen. The aim of the research part of this thesis was to determine the current state of motivation of the pupils attending primary school towards the sports activities. To accomplish this aim, a method of questionnaire survey was used. The research section also deals with the relationships among the monitored variables in the survey. The results of this work provide new information about motivation of children towards sports activities.

This diploma thesis elaborates on the topic of informal learning within volunteering activities with children and youth. It is based on the concept of lifelong learning and describes characteristics of informal learning and volunteer work. It pays attention to types of motivation for volunteering and shows the possibilities of informal learning within volunteering activities with children and youth. The empirical research uses the questionnaire to examine the forms of self-directed learning. In particular, it examines the areas in which the self-directed learning is most frequently carried out and the impact of the most frequently held function on choice of areas of self-directed learning. The research also focuses on the impact of reciprocal motivation on the proportion of self-directed learning realized within volunteering activities and on the perception of selected activities as the source of new incentives and information. The ending part of the thesis contains interpretation of results and recommendation for future research in the field.

This thesis is relatively connected to the bachelor thesis of the author from 2009 but contains many new ideas of the work motivation theory together with an inter-cultural framework. After describing the research methods and expected results, the author inserts new research findings. In conclusion, an analysis of the predicted results is presented together with recommended suggestions, generally applicable to all business units in the public sector.

Návrh vhodných stimulačních nástrojů / Proposal fit stimulative tools

Purpose of this diploma thesis is proposal of fit stimulative tools. First company Moravia IT, a.s. is introduced along with objectives set for next five years period. Then is high fluctuation in the company chosen as the main problem. The aim is to propose stimuli, which decrease fluctuation. There is an analysis done in the next part, which is focused in negative and positive factors, which influence motivation of employees. The most significant motivation theories are described in theoretical part and their results are also mentioned. Final proposal of stimuli is divided into several parts – employees’ needs identification, definition of new stimuli and selection of suitable stimulative tools. There is made provision for time frame of satisfying employee’s needs in “evaluation” chapter. Also changes in corporate strategy according to the new proposals are demonstrated. At the end of the diploma thesis are suggested particular steps for management, which should have been done to decrease high fluctuation and finally achieve the main objectives of the company.
