Vzdělávání sester (v praxi) / Nursing education (in practice)

KAŠKOVÁ, Markéta January 2013 (has links)
Increasing the education of nursing staff is a society-wide issue, influenced by continuous development of medicine and medical technologies. The provision of nursing care is rightly demanding. The only way to keep up with new trends is lifelong nursing education. Nursing education in a particular workplace primarily aims at addressing current problems of the department and nurses? needs. The theoretical part deals with the influence of education on the quality of nursing care. We present a structure of education of paramedical professions. We define and clarify terms such as pedagogy, didactics, education and learning. We deal with the specifics of education, didactic principles and principles of adult education. In addition, we specify instructional strategies for nursing staff. For the purposes of this thesis, four objectives were set. In the first one we wanted to find out what the system and process of nursing education in the department looks like. The research showed that educational events are held in all departments. The organizing departments mostly report irregular or monthly frequency. The aim of the second objective was to obtain an opinion on the effectiveness of education in the department. We found disparity between the views of ordinary nurses and head nurses. The third objective was to answer the question of whether the organized educational events are initiated by the nurses? requests. Based on the answers of head nurses and ordinary nurses, we found out that this is not always the case. The last objective was to determine whether nurses implement the knowledge and skills gained to routine nursing care. The questionnaires showed that ordinary nurses try to incorporate the knowledge and skills to routine nursing care. For the purposes of this thesis, the combination of qualitative and quantitative research was selected. In order to carry out the qualitative part of the research, the method of questioning, using the technique of semi-structured interview with open questions was chosen. For the issue of quantitative research, the method of questioning, using the questionnaire technique with closed and semi-closed questions was used. For qualitative research, we set two research questions. In the first research question we wanted to find out what impetus the management uses when planning education in the hospital and the department. We found out that most often it is initiated by head nurses and ward nurses. In the second research question, we examined what obstacles the management sees to the effectiveness of education and implementation of the knowledge and skills gained into practice. Head nurses identify a problem in the actual participation in education in the department. For quantitative research, we set five hypotheses. Hypothesis 1 was: Nursing education in the workplace is an activity organized by the management regardless of the ordinary nurses? requests. The hypothesis was not confirmed. Hypothesis 2 was: Management, unlike ordinary nurses, sees the effectiveness of education in the workplace positively. The hypothesis was not confirmed either. The third hypothesis was: Education is seen as a necessary, routine activity, not as motivating factor for improving the quality of nursing care. The hypothesis was not confirmed. The last hypothesis was: Implementation of the knowledge gained from the educational events into nursing care is monitored by the management. The hypothesis was not confirmed, the implementation of knowledge is monitored, but not to the extent we expected. When evaluating the results we came across other very interesting facts, which we believe deserve more attention. Finally, it is surprising that the organization of educational events does not reflect nurses? shifts. One of the reasons for this might be the fact that some head nurses do not prepare the plan and time schedule for nursing education. We tried to propose the time schedule of nurses education in deparments.

Motivace studentů ke studiu na SZŠ a bakalářském studiu / Student motivation for studies at secondary medical schools / for university studies to earn a Bachelor of Medicine´s degree

JELENECKÁ, Hana January 2013 (has links)
This thesis focuses on student motivation for studies at secondary medical schools, as well as on drivers of motivation of secondary medical school students for Bachelor studies. We wanted to know how motivation of present-day students differs from that of general nurses attending medical schools prior to 2004 and what is the impact of practical training teachers of secondary medical schools on professional motivation of students. Theoretical part describes development of nursing care education since 1945 until now, changes in concept of nursing care as they result from Act no. 96/ 2004 Coll. on ?acquiring and recognition of qualifications for execution of non-doctoral medical professions and activities relating to provision of health care and on amending some related legislation?. Further, we focused on job selection and its factors, and last but not least, on motivation and some motivational drivers. The first objective was to find out what motivates students of secondary medical schools in their first and fourth years. The second objective was to look at motivation of students for General Nurse Bachelor studies. The third objective was to describe motivation of general nurses for studies at secondary medical schools prior to 2004. Finally, the last objective was to find out how practical training teachers of secondary medical schools motivate students for their future profession. In the thesis empirical part, we used methods of qualitative and quantitative research. As far as quantitative research is concerned, anonymous questionnaires were used to collect data. The first population of 102 (100%) respondents included first-year students of three secondary medical schools. The second research population of 100 (100%) respondents included fourth-year students of three secondary medical schools. The third population of 107 (100%) respondents included general nurses of two medium-size hospitals. As far as qualitative research is concerned, questioning method and, in particular, semi-structured interview technique were used. A population of six practical training teachers of two secondary medical schools was involved. These practical training teachers were asked two questions: 1. Is there enough time scheduled for practical training to motivate students? 2. In your opinion, are motivational drivers used in practical training sufficient to get medical assistants involved in the practical training nursing process? Quantitative research has the following results: the first assumption that first-year students were influenced more by external motivational drivers than by internal ones, was not borne out. The second assumption that fourth-year students perceived acquired experience as a more significant motivational driver than external motivation, was not borne out either. The third assumption that motivation of students of secondary medical schools for university studies was depending on experience acquired in practical training was not borne out either. Similarly, the last assumption that motivation of students of secondary medical schools prior to 2004 was depending on the then existing value system, was not borne out either. On the other hand, it is clear from qualitative research that practical training teachers do not have enough time to motivate students and that motivational elements used not always achieve their defined goals. This often results from excessive number of students per group. The above research results will be provided to medical schools for thein self- examination. They may also be used for professional public at specialist seminars or congresses as well as for publication in specialized journals.

BALOGOVÁ, Renata January 2017 (has links)
Aims, research questions and hypotheses: The subject of the research is to evaluate the possibilities of influencing job satisfaction of shift nurses by head nurses. Three aims were set based on the subject of this research. Aim 1 To assess the level of job satisfaction of nurses with working conditions. Aim 2 To evaluate the requirements of nurses to increase their job satisfaction. Aim 3 To identify the possibilities of influencing job satisfaction of nurses from the view of head nurses. Methodology and research sample: In this diploma thesis the qualitative and quantitative data collection methods were used. The quantitative research was carried out by using standardized HCI questionnaires. The questionnaires were given to nurses in selected organizations (Tábor Hospital, Jindřichův Hradec Hospital, Kutná Hora Hospital, Chýnov Retirement Home). The size of the research sample is 164 respondents. The qualitative method of the research was carried out by in-depth interviews with ward and head nurses of the selected organizations (Tábor Hospital, Jindřichův Hradec Hospital, Kutná Hora Hospital, Chýnov Retirement Home). We interviewed 10 head nurses. Conclusion and the results: The results suggest that the shift nurses are not satisfied with their job, 39% of nurses feel to be "not very satisfied" in their job. The overall job satisfaction of nurses increases with the good working team. Job satisfaction of nurses is also influenced by the length of practice. Job satisfaction gradually decreases with the length of practice. However, in the category "10 and more years of practice" job satisfaction increases again. Education also affects job satisfaction of nurses. The university nurses are the most satisfied, on the other hand the college nurses are the least satisfied. Job satisfaction of nurses decreases depending on physical demands of their jobs. The preferences of motivation factors of shift nurses differ in the category "Others" (meal vouchers, supplementary pension insurance). The preferences of benefits increase depending on age and the length of practice. The nurses' requirements do not change with the other benefits. The good financial evaluation would help to influence job satisfaction of nurses. Head nurses influence job satisfaction of nurses by non-financial benefits, pleasant leadership style, positive assessment and the opportunity of changing shifts. The output of this diploma thesis is the proposal of motivation program to increase job satisfaction of nurses.
