Thesis summarizes basic problems of working process of narrative in pioneer art - virtual reality.

The thesis deals with history, methods and principles of narration in fine arts since the beginning of history to present days. The problems of stories in pictures are parted to two categories; the inner and outer plane of the story. Each of these narrative planes operate with different procedures. Between these procedures belong compositions, dynamics, rhythm, the usage of symbols, indexes and icons but also the amount of stylization and naturalism. Contemporaneous progressive artistic methods such as comics are the subject of analyses right next to the historical methods of sequential image narration. The thesis observes the methods of composing, working with time and use of the so called gutter as an integral part of the juxtaposed sequences. The analysis' findings are summarised in the personal author production and the didactic evaluation of certain narrative procedures.

The thesis analyzes the instruments of gender stereotypes reproduction and gender identity construction in Czech TV series Dokonalý svět. Is the media content gendered? With which instruments of gender stereotypes reproduction and gender identity construction is TV viewer confronted and on which levels? I use the theory of social construction of reality, the theory of the lenses of gender or the characters and narrative structure of the TV series (soup opera) to come to a conclusion. The thesis focuses on the fact that Dokonalý svět does not only reflect the stereotypes on the other hand. It confronts the standard gender orders by the comic character. The comedy character ridicules some gender stereotypes and shakes their social status.

Narrative gaps are dramaturgical problems which disturb the viewers? perception of the storyline and the fictional world of a film. The text analyses specific narrative gaps on the example of the most popular Czech films produced between 2000?2010. This work explores the question of the popularity of these films despite their narrative problems. In searching for the answer it tries to see the problem from the perspective of the audience as well as the filmmakers. From the perspective of cognitive film theories, it describes the auto-compensation processes applied by the viewers. It also describes the mechanisms of attraction which are used by filmmakers to cover up the narrative gaps.

The goal of this work is to popularize certain sound theory issues (e.g. storytelling, interactivity/immersion, sound/image perspective, semiotics). It deals with the basic sound/image and diegetic/extradiegetic relations, compiling the works of various sound theoreticians. Despite being focused on narrative film, it discusses specific features of four most common semi-narrative genres and gives a hint of sound/image relations in non-narrative and interactive audiovisual media. Apart from the sound/image/diegesis relations, this work briefly explains the synchresis phenomenon and the meaning of tight or loose sound/image synchronicity for tampering with the perspective and perception of the filmic time and space. The appendices contain some information concerning related themes – a short combinatorics column, a column explaining the three basic sound planes, the use of sound as a signifier and a longer quotation of Michel Chion’s article on rendered sound.

The diploma thesis, entitled "The rule of the Jagiellonian dynasty on the Czech territory as documented in 1918-1938 textbooks", observes the transformation of a historical fact regarding data concerning the period of the reign of the Jagellonian dynasty, as stated in Czech and Polish textbooks dating back to 1918-1938. The national and socio-political point of the emergence of both countries after 1918 is the basis for the observation and comparison of the presented historiographical content. The thesis focuses on the difference of the presentation of the historical content, as well as on the influence of a particular political period on the text editing of the content in history textbooks. The thesis begins with an introduction to the Jagellonian period. This is followed by a comparison of historical contents in Polish and Czechoslovakian history textbooks. Finally, this work also shows the effect of political situations on the transformation of historiography and the narrative of content regarding the Jagellonian period in history textbooks. This diploma thesis focuses on a discursive object called "ideal woman ", which is constructed in the Vlasta magazine. It is a women's magazine suitable for middle - aged ladies. In this work, I will examine the discourse, which is based on an implicit critique of the masculine order of the world, but the discourse is paradoxically structured to covertly affirm this order. I will focus on naturalization strategies of how the discursive object of the "ideal woman" is presented to the reader as natural. This Diploma Thesis "Moral Aspects of Fairy Tales" asks questions - Is it possible to find God's message in the fairy tales? Can God speak to us through these stories? Can the fairy tales be touched by history of redemption? In the beginning, this Diploma Thesis speaks about myth, about it's origin, functions and message, because the fairy tales have their roots in myth. For better apprehension of the fairy tales, there is used the theory of narrative as well as theory and history of fairy tales. The Diploma Thesis analyzes Jung's Archetypes. Archetypes help us to find messages for good life of human beeing in fairy tales. Another issue is "History of mankind as a chain of storries." This issue asks, why there is just few functions in the stories. It analyzes Jesus Christ as the first example of a main hero of fairy tales ant myths. The mankind should follow him in it's own storry. Universality of the storries is demonstrated in comparing of stories from Old Testament (Jonas, Jakob and Eliah) with motives in the fairy tales. A diploma thesis deals with sexuality as a storylining element in Czech soap operas. The sample contains long-running relational series that were broadcasted by television stations in October-November 2013. Specifically, there were series Cesty domů 2, Gympl s (r)učením omezeným, Ulice and Ordinace v růžové zahradě 2. There were used quantitative content analysis to detection the frequency of sexuality and qualitative narrative analysis to explore the context and way for create the plot. The categories of behavior and conversation containing elements of sexuality were analyzed in the study. During the preparation of the categories, I was inspired by research "How much sex is there in soap operas on British TV?" that was realized by Rami Al - Sayed and Barrie Gunter in 2012. I analyzed the elements of sexuality that create the storyline during the research. I examined the particular scenes where did appear the correlation of story to the previous and following events and debates . I focused on the explicit and implicit exposure of sexuality in the series. If there was an aspect of sexuality without storylining function I tried to find the reason for the occurrence in the series. This study focuses on structural analysis of narrative of the double journey film The Queen according to three types of structuring - classical three act structure, sequence approach and the hero's journey. Each of those methods is examining the story with regard to the fact that the film has two protagonists. It is also taking into consideration the possibility of adjusting these model structures to fit this particular story. The study concludes that each of those methods can be beneficial if used in service of the chosen theme.
