O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as características dos jogos que visam tornar o modelo de ensino mais eficaz, demonstrando suas qualidades mais importantes e como elas podem ser utilizadas para tornar o aprendizado mais atraente e envolvente para os alunos / Several studies shows that the actual educational model is obsolete: schools face competition with various electronic devices; the dropout rate is quite high; students cannot identify as being part of the school environment; learning is limited by the environment within the classroom and does not include learning opportunities elsewhere. These factors, among many others, become decisive for the young students feel motivated to learn in the classroom, a fact that has grown rapidly in recent years. Some lines of research argue that the school should have a more attractive curriculum model for this, propose several proposals for educational reform, including one in which the school can take advantage of the features of the games to work in a way that the student feel playing a game, thus increasing the engagement of the same. In order to make good use of these features, you need a better understanding of how they influence positively in the teaching process. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of games that aim to make the most effective teaching model, demonstrating its most important qualities and how they can be used to make the more attractive and engaging learning for students

”Det finns inte någon metod som passar alla elever” : En intervjustudie om lärares uppfattningar om nyinlärning och att förebygga läs- och skrivsvårigheter utifrån Wittingmetoden / ”There is no method that suits all students” : An interview study on teachers' perceptions of new learning and prevention of reading and writing difficulties based on the Witting method

Lindahl Skog, Paulina January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to investigate how the Witting method works in new learning and whether it is good for preventing reading and writing difficulties. The survey also shows why the method is relatively unknown among teachers. In order to gain an idea of the method's function, a comparison has also been made with some other well-proven methods used in Sweden. The survey was conducted through qualitative interviews with four teachers from different parts of Sweden. Common to all four teachers was that they work fully or partly from the Witting method. The results of the interviews show that all four teachers agreed that the method works well for new learning and that it was also effective in preventing reading and writing difficulties. This because the method is perceived to be effective, nothing is left by chance, everything is thoughtful and creative, the structure is clear and the students work at their own pace. Two of the teachers thought the method was the only one to work from the outside while the other two teachers also used other methods.

What New Learning is This?: Examining William Turner and his Comparison Betweene the Olde Learnynge and the Newe

Lee, Joshua Seth 06 June 2007 (has links)
William Turner remains an understudied figure of Reformation scholarship. He was a dedicated doctor, scientist, and Lutheran reformer. This thesis examines Turner and his place in the history of ideas. It looks closely at his three editions of A Comparison Betweene the Olde Learnynge and the Newe (1537, 1538, 1548) and explores how these texts fit into the history of ideas and reflect the larger religious debate occurring in England in the 16th century. It also explores Turner's connection to the German reformer Urbanus Rhegius. I argue the connection between these two men and their writings function as a microcosm of the Reformation. / Master of Arts

Examining the role of instructional rounds as a catalyst in building a learning organization

Hatanaka, Jill Kikuye 01 January 2015 (has links)
This study sought to examine how teachers' experiences with instructional rounds helped develop the tenets of a learning organization. This case study used observations, semi-structured teacher interviews, and document analysis to gather data from a low-income, rural school located in California's Central Valley. The theoretical framework on learning organizations developed by Garvin, Edmondson, and Gino (2008) helped in examining the data. Findings from the research suggests that leadership and the four-step process that guides instructional rounds, along with the protocols used within the instructional rounds practice, influences the development of a learning organization. As a consequence of this study, educators may focus on utilizing instructional rounds to develop habits of learning, while leading and developing a learning organization in a collaborative setting.

Managing the quality of learning in higher education through a hybrid study approach

Van Tonder, Silna 02 1900 (has links)
Technology and globalisation has shaped the experiences and expectations of adult learners in the 21st century. How adults learn and what they want to learn is highly influenced by the world they live in at any given time. The need for customisation, extending traditional learning experiences into new learning experiences will address the quality and value of higher education learning in South Africa. Restructuring of current programmes to be more flexible, accessible, interactive, that supports collaboration of learning activities and accommodates different learning styles, will enrich the adult learners’ learning experience and quality of learning. In suggesting the use of an alternative learning strategy, the use of a hybrid study approach (HSA) has been suggested and investigated. Limited research has been conducted in the use of a hybrid study approach (HSA) and more on what has been said was conducted on pure online learning, therefore this study focused on managing the quality of learning in higher education through a hybrid study approach (HSA). Since the researcher’s interest was to gain insight and understanding of learners’, tutors’ and institutional managements’ perceptions, understanding, concerns and experiences in their real world conditions when using a hybrid study approach (HSA), the qualitative research method was applied. The researcher focused on the micro-level of managing quality of learning by assessing the ‘learning’ when learning with technology. The study adhered to ethical principles and techniques to enhance the validity of the findings. The study found that a need for redress and reform of training and education in South Africa, especially with the integration of technology in higher education, extending into a hybrid study approach (HSA), which is in harmony with international standards of academic quality, knowledge, expertise and skills is needed in a changing global economy. A one-for-all learning approach was found not well suited for the needs of society today and does not foster an all-inclusive learning approach. The move to a knowledge society where learners are interconnected and where information circulate around the world faster than ever, it is evident that much learning occurs in a social environment and does not happen in splendid isolation. It was found evident that life demands and other different roles adult learners need to fulfill, adults intentionally search for educational settings that support their way of learning. / Education Leadership and Management / M. Managing the quality of employability development in higher education through blended learning : a comparative study

Van Tonder, Silna 30 September 2019 (has links)
The fourth industrial revolution and twenty-first century employability development has emerged on education and political agendas as a priority all over the world. Researchers have suggested and investigated more innovative learning experiences using technology as part of a blended learning approach. Restructuring current programmes to include skills development has the potential to equip students with the skills needed for employment. The development of blended learning approaches is an expanding field in both developing and developed countries. Yet, the skills graduates display and employers’ dissatisfaction is a concern. Limited research has been conducted on the use of blended learning to enhance employability development in formal learning environments. Most of the available research relies on employer perceptions, with little data available on the knowledge, skills and values graduates actually possess or on the impact this has on employability outcomes. This study aims to address this gap by focussing on managing the quality of employability development in higher education using blended learning. The study was aimed at gaining insight into the perceptions, understanding, concerns and experiences of institutional managers, tutors, graduates and students in their real world when using blended learning to enhance graduateness. This aim made the qualitative research method a suitable match. This thesis reports on the resulting comparative study between a South African and an American institution using different blended learning approaches to compare different cases for similarities and variations. The South African higher education sector’s fitness for purpose and pursuit of benchmarking against international standards of academic quality, knowledge and expertise calls for redress and reform of teaching-learning. In the fourth industrial revolution with a 21st century knowledge economy, driven from a macro- meso- and microlevel perspective, higher education in South Africa has the potential to provide a workforce that is socially and economically viable and more inclusive. The thesis concludes with a model to support employability development in blended learning environments. / Uphuhliso lwezakhono nokuqesheka ngenkulungwane yamashumi amabini nanye, zivele kwii-ajenda yezemfundo kunye nezopolitiko njengeziqaqambileyo kwihlabathi jikelele.
