Any predicative facts about the local newspapers, the composition of the editorial staff and possible editors impact (respectively presumed inability to influence) on the newspaper content in a system of directive management and reflections of the Chebsko region as a border region in the immediate vicinity of the Iron Curtain were of interest of the research. The core of the work is to draw a picture of everyday life of "ordinary" citizens of the region with regard to the above facts and focusing on different aspects of life in society such as the local economy, agriculture or cultural, sport and social life in the city. The thesis also deals with the editions and contents of the newspaper during the periods of anniversaries of essential historical events (e.g....

Vývoj Rudého práva v období 1972-1991 / Development of the Rudé právo during 1972-1991

Petrů, Jan January 2015 (has links)
This thesis Development of the Rudé právo during 1972 - 1991 discusses the activities and developments of this journal and its editors at a time when in Czechoslovakia began the period of normalization, causing compaction ratios and purges especially among journalists. The other titles had to respond to this situation, including the Rudé právo itself, which was, however, in exceptional circumstances, as reported directly to the directives of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. In the Rudé právo so appeared only official information (political, social, cultural and sports), which corresponded to the ideology of the Communist Party. It is therefore interesting to investigate this periodical in the context of contemporary events and to analyze its activities in connection with the fact that we now have. The editor's work was based on the discussions and proposals adopted at a meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and its Secretariat, whose member was also editor in chief of the Rudé právo. The journal had automatically secured the highest allocations of newsprint, even during the late '80s, when it was real shortage of this material. After 1990, when began the consolidation of printed periodicals, the Rudé právo transformed into a joint-stock company whose majority...

Ladislav Helge: mezi mocí a filmem / Ladislav Helge: Caught between film and politics

Rousek, Jan January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to map political activities of Ladislav Helge, a film director. Due to his social sensitivity and sympathies for the Red army as a liberator of Czechoslovkaia, he favored left-wing politics. At the beginning of his career he was not involved in politics and instead immersed himself fully in his profession of a film director. His first initiation to the world of politics came with the shooting of Frona. This film represents a turning point in both his artistic and political activities. Gradual de-Stalinization across the 1950s happened alongside Helge's first independent film project and his deliberate joining of KSC. The political intervention of the communist party into the liberal functioning of Czechoslovak film during the Banska Bystrica film festival determined his political activism that was to follow. In the mid 1960s Helge, as a leader of a professional film organization FITES, stood up to the attempts of the communist functionaries to curtail the artistic freedom of filmmakers belonging to the New Wave movement. Between 1968 and 1969 he led the Coordinating committee of creative associations and defended the freedoms gained during the Prague Spring. Soon after, his employment at Barrandov studios was terminated. In 1977 he signed the Anti-Charter. The last chapter...

Trestrová, Veronika January 2012 (has links)
This dissertation gives a comprehensive picture of the press organs of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in the district of Pardubice during the so-called normalization. Husák, Martin January 2012 (has links)
The thesis "Czech music journalism focused on rock music during the period of normalization" reflects the position and importance of Czech rock music journalism within the structure and development of normalization of the media system. It is brought back through the oral historical research based on authentic evidence of their protagonists. It defines the initial prerequisites (ideological, political and socio-cultural) which are important to understand the circumstances under which rock music could be created and developed into an institution. It all depended on the confrontational attitude of communist power towards rock music generally. The next methodic element how to fulfill the defined goals is descriptive and comparative perspective. On this basis there is confronted official and samizdat's area of magazine production on the example of chosen periodicals. There also belong other qualitative aspects of music journalism (personalization, professionalization and every day editorial job). At the end the accepted conclusions are supported by the analysis and interpretation of chosen cultural and music events. They are divided by the method of their media coverage from official and samizdat periodicals.

Život a působení farářů Alfréda Kocába a Jiřího Doležala v letech 1968 až 1989 / The Life and Work of the Pastors Alfred Kocáb and Jiří Doležal between years 1968 and 1989

Pfann, Michael January 2013 (has links)
This thesis deals with the life and work of two pastors of the Evangelical Church of the Czech Brethren, Alfréd Kocáb and Jiří Doležal, between 1968-1989. For this research the oral history method was used. The thesis contains a selection of interviews, which the author conducted with the pastors in spring 2013, and an interpretation of them according to the rules of the discipline of oral history. Preceding to the interviews available materials related to both pastors were studied, which are mainly documents in church and state archives, but also interviews with contemporaries of both pastors. The aim of this thesis is to create a platform to the pastors to speak, so that they can present their life and work according to their memories and comment various events, which constituted them. The two pastors represent two different wings in the ECCB in that period. In this way, these two concepts and accents of life and theology are entering into a mutual dialog. Through two life testimonies we can pars pro toto observe the life of the church and the country in the difficult years 1968-1989. The second aim of the work was to create new historical sources in the form of recordings of interviews and transcriptions of them.
