Evaluation of the influence of channel conditions on Car2X CommunicationMinack, Enrico 14 November 2005 (has links)
The C2X Communication is of high interest to the automotive industry. Ongoing research on this topic mainly bases on the simulation of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks. In order to estimate the necessary level of simulation details their impact on the results needs to be examined. This thesis focuses on different channel models as the freespace, shadowing, and Ricean model, along with varying parameters.
For these simulations the network simulator ns-2 is extended to provide IEEE 802.11p compliance. However, the WAVE mode is not considered since it is still under development and not finally approved. Besides a more sophisticated packet error model than the existing implementation, as well as a link adaptation algorithm, is added.
In this thesis several simulations examine specific details of wireless communication systems such as fairness of multiple access, interferences, throughput, and variability. Furthermore, the simulation points out some unexpected phenomena as starving nodes and saturation effects in multi hop networks. Those led to the conclusion that the IEEE 802.11 draft amendment does not solve known problems of the original IEEE 802.11 standard.

Simulace chování sítě na základě analýzy konfiguračních souborů aktivních síťových zařízení / Simulation of Network Behaviour Based on Analysis of Configuration of Active Network DevicesMacků, Jiří January 2008 (has links)
This masters thesis describes simulation of network using Network Simulator. Model of network and description of simulation is extracted from the analysis of configuration files of active network devices, and translated by a parser. Concept and implementation of the parser is described here. Because IPv4 addressing is not supported in Network Simulator, it was added as a new module. The Network Simulator is also extended by filtering properties of packets using access control lists. Practical usage of the implemented modules is demonstrated on a simulation of real network.

Směrování v bezdrátových sítích / Routing in Wireless NetworksJanský, Václav January 2008 (has links)
This work deals with routing protocols for ad hoc wireless networks. First ad hoc networks are introduced. Routing protocols are then classified according to several criteria. Four routing protocols algorithms are described. They are proactive protocols DSDV and CGSR, reactive DSR and hybrid ZRP. Next AODV routing protocol is described in details. Advantages and disadvantages of AODV and two variants of AODV are also introduced. A new protocol is designed based on the disadvantages of the AODV protocol. This work also describes the implementation and integration of the new protocol in the ns-2 simulator. Results of the simulations are presented.
