This thesis deals with the social and economic development of the town of Dobřichovice which is located in the district Praha-západ (Prague-West) and ranks among the smaller towns with the number of inhabitants not exceeding 4,000. In the theoretical part the main used terms are defined with the help of the technical literature: region, regional policy, regional development, municipality etc. The objective of the thesis in the empiric part is (apart from providing basic characteristics of the town of Dobřichovice including a brief outline of its history) is especially to assess the development in the individual social and economic areas. The documents of the town of Dobřichovice and other public institutions including the data of the Czech Statistical Office are used for the analysis in the areas like demography, education, unemployment, entrepreneurial activities or the quality of life. The primary collection of data is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews with the representatives political leadership of the town, of its municipal office as well as with the representatives of local citizens. Based on the analysis of primary and secondary sources an aggregate SWOT analysis is performed. The summary provides an overview of the development areas and outlines several points that could be used by the town of Dobřichovice by the preparation of the future documents on development.

Summary The aim of the final thesis is to realize whether the funds used from the EU are efficiently applied within the municipal development strategy, i.e. how capable is the Village of Malenice of using these funds effectively while implementing its projects. These projects are connected with the performance of the rural development programme which was approved by the council for the given periods. The work includes two parts theoretical, practical and quantitative research of the given issue. The first theoretical part introduces the origins of the regional policies within the EU, namely from the times when the European Economic Community was founded. It describes the 2007 2013 programming period in the Czech Republic, the current 2014 2020 programming period and the brief listing of the differences, including the list of projects implemented with the support of the EU funds in the Village of Malenice. Second part focuses on the quantitative research which presents the method of semi-structured interviews with the village citizens. The interviews are completed with direct and indirect observation. The results of the research may help to further municipal development and may fulfill needs of the citizens in the new 2014 2020 programming period.

The aim of this thesis is based on theoretical and practical bases to analyze the management of the municipal office in Říčany in 2011-2014 and based on the analysis to propose measures that will improve the management of the municipality. The thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical part. The theoretical part deals mainly with the characteristics of management municipality. This section also lists financial analysis methods that are used in the public sector. The analytical part describes the selected community. This section mainly assesses the municipal economy in 2011-2014. There are analyzed various income and expenses in those years. Revenues and expenditures are also evaluated in terms of comparability. On the basis of financial analysis are also calculated ratios. In the end, there is an assessment of municipal management.

The aim of this thesis is the analysis of waste management system in the village Horní Moštěnice. The legislative framework of the laws in force in this issue is described in the first part. Economic and ecological data from the years 2010 to 2015 are evaluated. In this period the system of assembly and waste collection in the village has been changed. The new system is focused on rigorous sorting of individual components of waste. The obtained data are compared with ecological and economic data from the village Přestavlky. Some recommendations are designed resulting from a comparison of the obtained data in conclusion.

This work is focused on rural regions, their definitions, functions, transformations and time development. The emphases is put on relationship of countryside and agriculture. The cooperation of rural municipalities with regards to drawing the grands is also mentioned. The suburbanization consequences toward rural regions is being discussed. The main scope of this test suggests that the countryside has got own trends and it is not possible to apply city trends for. The rural development is important in sense of permanently continuing development principles. Theoretical findings are converted into practice by analyzing area of Brno´s voluntary near by municipality union and also by area evaluation through SWOT analyses and then by suggesting a self-development strategy.

This thesis describes the settlement of rural areas of the South Moravian Region. The literature review concentrates on the explanation of the notion "countryside" and on the definition of countryside in the South Moravian Region. A typology of countryside in terms of demographics is formulated in the next chapter. Within the results, rural areas in individual districts of municipalities with extended authority and authorized municipal office are characterized. Using the parameters described in each district, the typology of South Moravian countryside in terms of its development was designed. The South Moravian countryside is divided into 4 types. The final discussion covers the geographic classification of individual types of countryside.

The diploma thesis is focused on the education of employees in public administration. The aim is to analyze the system of employee education at the Municipal office in Bílovec, evaluate the current situation and propose appropriate recommendations in the education of employees. The first part defines the basic concepts of education, describes methods and ways used in adult education and a systematic approach to the education of employees in the organization. Additionally, it serves to define terms in public administration with a focus on local governments, describe local government officials, and finally define the education of local government officials in terms of applicable legislation. At the beginning of the practical part of the thesis, the Municipal Office in Bílovec is presented. This part is devoted to research in the form of a questionnaire survey, which is focused on the education of officials in the Municipal Office in Bílovec. Subsequently, the results are interpreted, evaluated for individual research questions and final recommendations are formulated aimed at the further education of officials.

The thesis is focused on the evaluation and comparison of community development in the village Nebahovy and Vitějovice (district Prachatice). The selected villages are of a similar nature (size of community, population, location, etc.). The author of the submitted thesis evaluates the development of selected communities first of all by means of a selected indicator set (in the period between 2008 and 2010). The author also tries to test the development of these two selected municipalities by a kind of a questionnaire survey.

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the financial health of the town. Financial analysis methods which are traditionally used for the evaluation of the financial situation of the entrepreneurial entities are convenient to use for this purpose. There was designed a system of financial ratios/indicators suitable for the evaluation of the financial health of municipalities. It involves 10 indicators. Four financial ratios were adopted from the system of informative and monitoring indicators (SIMU) which is being watched by the Ministry of Finance of CR in the framework of the municipality management monitoring and they contain apart from the other things also representatives of the classic financial ratios of indebtedness and liquidity. Further indicators which are involved are particularly special ones focussed on municipality budgetary management. Next, there was selected a group of 10 comparable towns. For this selected sample including the investigated town the system of ratios was calculated. There were used all data which are accessible by means of the application of ARISweb and ÚFIS /kinds of servers ? translator´s remark/, i.e. reports for the period of 2001 ? 2012. The indicators were calculated for each year and aggregated by means of the weighted average. In order to evaluate the aggregated results there was used a point method, i.e. one of the mathematical and statistical methods used for indicators system analysis. Using this method the average values of the system indicators for the particular towns were transformed and synthesized into one indicator, while importance of the particulars indicators was expressed again by scales. This way there was possible to find out the level of each town in the selected set.
