Dispenzní tisk tlustovrstvých past / The direct writing of thick film pastes

This work deals with the problem of the thick-film pastes and their printing. In the main chapter of this work, the realization of a workplace for thick-film pastes' printing is described. The construction of the realized plotter and the controlling electronics of the plotter is depicted in detail.In the following chapter, the console, through which the plotter is controlled via PC, and the CAD program, which serves for projecting of the motives printed, are described.In the final chapter of this work, the measured profiles of the paste printed for various settings of printing parameters and the photographs of the motives printed are stated.

Práce uvádí základní informace o průmyslové sběrnici AS-Interface a popisuje její funkce. Dále se zabývá rozšířením stávajícího FTZ AS-Interface Slave Simulátoru o dotykový display, který značně usnadní ovládání tohoto simulačního nástroje. Je zde nastíněn návrh a řešení uživatelského dotykového rozhraní k tomuto simulátoru s použitím Amulet LCD modulu STK 480272C. Vývoj tohoto rozhraní je proveden pomocí GEMstudia, softwaru firmy Amulet Technologies a grafických programů. Dále tato studie pojednává o softwarové úpravě FTZ AS-i Slave Smilulátoru. Jedná se o úpravu řídícího FPGA v jazyce VHDL zajišťující komunikaci s dotykovým displejem. Poslední kapitola se týká problematiky spojené s návrhem uživatelsky přívětivé aplikace.

This thesis describes optimization and modification of standard thick-film electrochemical sensor to be able to be used for detection in microvolumes. In the theoretical part, the thick film technology is described. The work is then focused on the wettability of surfaces followed by introduction to electrochemistry and electro-analytical methods. In the experimental part, screen-printing of various types of thick film pastes on ceramic substrates for determination of their wettability and the following modification of the sensors with thick-film paste and with Parylene vaporization can be found, as well as the basic electrochemical measurements in microvolume using the modified sensor. Finally the results are summarized in conclusion.

This thesis deals with the development of benchmark application for the OpenGL ES 3.0 devices using the realistic real-time rendering of 3D scenes. The first part covers the history and new features of the OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics library. Next part briefly describes selected algorithms for the realistic real-time rendering of 3D scenes which can be implemented using the new features of the discussed library. The design of benchmark application is covered next, including the design of online result database containing detailed device specifications. The last part covers implementation on Android and Windows platforms and the testing on mobile devices after publishing the application on Google Play. Finally, the results and possibilites of further development are discussed.

Zobrazování scény s velkým počtem chodců v reálném čase / Real-Time Rendering of a Scene With Many Pedestrians

The aim of this thesis was to implement a software that would be able to render, simulate and record a scene with walking pedestrians in real-time, with emphasis on rendering level of realism. The output of the application could serve as an input test data for people counting systems or similar systems for video recognition. The problem was divided into three major subproblems: character animation, artificial intelligence for character movement and advanced rendering techniques. The character animation problem is solved by the skeletal animation of the model. To achieve the characters moving in a scene autonomously path finding(A* algorithm) and group behaviors(steering behaviors) were implemented. Realism in a scene is added by implemented methods such as normal-mapping, variance shadow-mapping, deffered rendering, skydome, lens flare effect and screen space ambient occlusion. Optimaliaztion of the rendering was implemented using octree data structure for space partitioning. Rendering stage of a scene can be easily parametrized through implemented GUI. Implemented application provides the user with easy way of setting a scene with walking pedestrians, setting its visualization and to record the result.

Le rôle de l’activité physique et la sédentarité en âge préscolaire sur les habitudes de vie, le rendement scolaire et le développement psychosocial au début de l’adolescence

En raison des progrès technologiques, les comportements sédentaires (souvent devant un écran) sont devenus les activités de loisir préférées pour beaucoup d’enfants, au lieu de s’engager dans le jeu actif, des sports ou d’autres activités requérant de l’effort physique. L’utilisation de transport actif est aussi en déclin, la majorité des enfants se rendant à l’école en voiture ou dans d’autres moyens de transport passifs. Pourtant, l’inactivité et la sédentarité constituent des facteurs de risque pour de multiples problèmes de santé physique et mentale. Tel que décrit dans le premier chapitre, les bienfaits de l’activité physique sur le bien-être sont bien documentés et les risques associés aux comportements sédentaires sont de plus en plus étudiés. Néanmoins, la plupart des études ne regardent ces deux aspects que séparément et ne s’intéressent qu’à l’impact immédiat sur une dimension spécifique du bien-être. Le but de cette thèse doctorale était donc d’étudier le rôle que l’activité physique et les comportements sédentaires, à la fin de la maternelle, jouent sur le bien-être physique, cognitif et psychosocial au début de l’adolescence (deux périodes de transition importantes pour les enfants). Le premier article (Chapitre II) a examiné les associations prospectives entre la participation aux activités physiques pendant les loisirs, à l’âge de 6 ans, et le rendement scolaire à l’âge de 12 ans. Les résultats montrent que les enfants qui participent davantage aux sports et à d’autres activités physiques structurées et non structurées présentent de meilleurs résultats scolaires et un engagement en classe plus élevé six ans plus tard que les enfants qui s’adonnent moins à ces activités. Le deuxième article (Chapitre III) a examiné les liens prospectifs entre un mode de vie qui tient compte, simultanément, de la participation à des activités physiques pendant les loisirs, de l’utilisation de transport actif et du temps consacré aux comportements sédentaires (ordinateur, télévision et jeux vidéo), à l’âge de 6 ans, et des indicateurs reliés au rendement scolaire et au bien-être physique et psychosocial, à l’âge de 12 ans. Les résultats montrent que les enfants qui mènent un mode de vie plus actif/moins sédentaire avant de commencer la scolarité présentent, ultérieurement, des habitudes de vie plus saines (plus d’activité physique et moins de temps d’écran) et moins de troubles émotifs et de victimisation, comparativement aux enfants menant un mode de vie moins actif/plus sédentaire. Dans les deux articles, les associations spécifiques pour chaque genre ont également été explorées. Les résultats des analyses fondées sur le genre montrent que même si tant les filles que les garçons bénéficient d’être plus actifs/moins sédentaires, chaque sous-groupe éprouve les bienfaits différemment. Une discussion des principaux résultats et des implications est présentée dans le dernier chapitre. En somme, cette thèse souligne l’importance de promouvoir un mode de vie actif dès un âge précoce et de développer des communautés qui offrent aux enfants de multiples occasions de se maintenir actifs. Ceci permettra de prévenir les nombreux risques associés à l’inactivité et la sédentarité et de contribuer au bien-être des jeunes, à court et à long terme. / Due to advances in technology, sedentary behaviors (which typically involve screens) have become the preferred leisure activity for many children, instead of engaging in active play, sports, or other activities requiring physical effort. Due to urban sprawl, the use of active transportation is also in decline and most children travel to school by car or other passive means of transportation. However, physical inactivity and sedentariness are both risk factors for multiple physical and mental health problems. As described in the first chapter, the protective benefits of physical activity on well-being are well documented and the risks associated with sedentary behaviors are increasingly being studied. Nevertheless, most studies look at these two aspects separately and focus solely on the immediate impact on a specific sphere of well-being. The aim of this doctoral thesis was therefore to study, during two important transition periods in development, the links between physical activity and sedentary behavior in kindergarten and physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being while children transition out of elementary school. The first article (Chapter II) examined the prospective associations between participation in leisure-time physical activity at age 6 and academic performance at age 12. The results suggest that children who participate more in sports and other structured and unstructured physical activities perform better in school and present a higher classroom engagement six years later, than children who are less involved in these activities. The second article (Chapter III) examined the prospective links between a lifestyle that takes into account, at the same time, participation in leisure-time physical activity, use of active transportation, and time spent on sedentary behaviors (computer, television, and video games) at age 6, and several indicators related to academic performance and physical and psychosocial well-being at age 12. The results reveal that children who lead a more active/less sedentary lifestyle before starting school present healthier lifestyles (more physical activity and less screen time), fewer emotional disorders and less victimization later in life, compared to children leading a less active/more sedentary lifestyle. In both articles, gender-specific associations were also explored. The results of the gender-based analyses suggest that even if both girls and boys benefit from being more active/less sedentary, each gender experiences these benefits differently. A discussion of the main findings and implications is presented in the last chapter. In summary, this thesis highlights the importance of promoting an active lifestyle from an early age and the need of developing communities that provide children with multiple opportunities to stay physically active. This will help prevent the many risks associated with inactivity and sedentariness among youth and thus contribute to their well-being, both in the short and long term.

Screen level temperature is measured at 2 meters above the ground. It is one of the most used atmospheric characteristics in various applications in meteorology and other fields related to weather prediction. Essential is not only the knowledge of its current state, but also its prediction. It is forecasted by numerical weather prediction (NWP) models from the atmospheric current state. Its long-term characteristics can be obtained from the integration of climate models. This text discusses fundamental parametriza- tions, mostly related to temperature forecast, used in the NWP model ALADIN and the regional climate model RegCM. Physical processes which influence temperature are studied using ALADIN in several cases which include the presence of low cloudiness, gravity waves and inappropriate thermic coefficient. A detailed description of the most relevant parametrization schemes is given and the results are studied in a form of indi- vidual feedback loops. Most dominant processes are also found. However, the level of 2 meters above the ground is not the model level, so temperature at 2 meters is obtained by interpolation from the surface temperature and the lowest model level temperature. Using RegCM, two differently complex interpolation schemes are compared to each other. 1

Steigerung der Effizienz und Leuchtdichtehomogenität von organischen Leuchtdioden mittels Druck- und Laserprozessen

Der Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeit liegt auf der Entwicklung von Technologien und Prozessen, welche die Marktakzeptanz organischer Leuchtdioden (OLED) durch Steigerung der Effizienz und Leuchtdichtehomogenität erhöhen. Dazu werden die Fertigungskosten durch neuartige Herstellungsverfahren reduziert und die Realisierung von effizienten, großflächigen (> 300×300 mm2) und homogen leuchtenden OLED-Modulen in beliebiger Modulform ermöglicht. Um dies zu erreichen, wurden folgende drei Ansätze verfolgt: 1. Die Optimierung der Strukturierung dünner Schichten bei Substraten für die organische Elektronik unter Verwendung der Technologien Siebdruck und Laserablation. Es werden neuartige Druckpasten auf ihre Eigenschaften hin untersucht und deren Eignung für die Substratstrukturierung bei OLEDs mittels Testmodulen elektro-optisch charakterisiert. Weiterhin steht die Verringerung der parasitären Leckströme durch einen optimierten Laserablationsprozess zur Grundelektrodenstrukturierung und einer Variation der Dicke der Löchertransportschicht im Fokus. 2. Die Realisierung einer schattenmasken- und photolithografiefreien seriellen elektrischen Verschaltung von mehreren kleinen OLED-Segmenten zu einem großen Gesamtmodul. Dazu werden ein Verfahren für die Erzeugung einer elektrischen Verbindung zwischen Top- und Grundelektrode sowie zwei hochinnovative Verfahren zur Separation einer vollflächig abgeschiedenen Topelektrode entwickelt und auf ihre Eignung hin validiert. 3. Die Verbesserung der Lichtauskopplung aus OLED-Modulen mittels einer modulinternen Streuschicht. Es werden fünf unterschiedliche Streupartikelarten und zwei Matrixmaterialien untersucht und deren Auswirkungen auf die Lichtauskopplung anhand von OLED-Testmodulen charakterisiert. Die entwickelten Verfahren und Prozessen basieren auf den Technologien Siebdruck und Laserablation, sind explizit für die Fertigung flexibler Module auf Basis von Trägermaterialien wie Dünnglas oder Polymerfolien sowie einem Rolle-zu-Rolle-Herstellungsverfahren geeignet und können direkt in eine großserientechnische Herstellung von OLED-Modulen überführt werden. / The focus of this work is upon the development of technologies and processes to increase the efficiency and brightness homogeneity of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) in order to improve their market acceptance. Additionally, manufacturing costs will be reduced by adopting the new processes and it will be shown that the production of efficient, large-area (up to 300 × 300 mm2) and uniformly bright OLED modules of an arbitrary shape is possible. To achieve this, three approaches were followed: 1. The optimization of the structuring of thin layers on substrates for organic electronics using screen printing and laser ablation. To achieve this, the properties of novel printing pastes were determined, and their suitability for structuring substrates was assessed using results from the electro-optical characterization of test modules. Furthermore, the parasitic leakage current was minimized by optimizing the laser ablation process used for the structuring of the bottom electrode, together with the thickness of the hole transport layer. 2. The electrical connection in series of several small OLED segments to make a larger module without the need for shadow masks or photolithographic processes was studied. This included the development of a technique to connect the top and bottom electrodes, as well as two highly innovative methods to produce a completely separated top electrode using structuring by laser ablation. The suitability of these methods for OLED production was confirmed. 3. A scattering layer within the modules was developed to improve the light outcoupling. Five types of scattering particle in two different matrix materials were examined, and the effects of the resulting scattering layer on the outcoupling from an OLED test module were characterized. The newly developed processes make use of screen printing and laser ablation and are thus well suited to the production of flexible OLED modules using support materials such as thin glass or polymer foils with roll-to-roll processing. Accordingly, such technologies could readily be transferred to the large volume production of OLED modules.
