Optimalizátor rozvrhu zkoušek na FIT / Optimizer for Exam Scheduling at the FIT

Paulík, Miroslav January 2015 (has links)
This paper describes automated examination scheduling for the Faculty of Information Technology of Brno University of Technology. It specifies a list of restrictions that must by satisfied. Furthermore, this limitations are classified due to their influence on a quality of the final version of the examination schedule. There are two types of restrictions; soft and hard. The task is to find such a solution that satisfies all hard constraints and breaks the minimum of soft constraints using techniques described in this paper.

Optimalizační modelování rizik v GAMSu / Optimization Risk Modelling in GAMS

Kutílek, Vladislav January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using the optimization modelling software system GAMS in risk management. According to the assignment, emphasis is placed on a detailed approach to the program for those, who are interested in its use in the field of risk engineering applications. The first part of the thesis contains the knowledge to understand what the GAMS program is and what it is used for. The next part of the work provides instructions on how to download, install, activate the program and what the user interface of the program looks like. Thanks to mathematical programming, it will be explained on a project on the distribution of lung ventilators, what basic approaches may be used in risk modelling in the GAMS program on a deterministic model. The following are more complex wait-and-see models, which contains the probability parameters and here-and-now models, where we work with demand scenarios and verify whether if they meets the requirements of other scenarios or calculate costs for the highest demands. The two-stage model is also one of the here-and-now models, but it is significantly more complex in its size and range of input data, it includes additional price parameters for added or removed pieces of lung ventilators from the order.

Role pokročilých oceňovacích metod opcí empirické testy na neuronových sítích / The Role of Advanced Option Pricing Techniques Empirical Tests on Neural Networks

Brejcha, Jiří January 2011 (has links)
This thesis concerns with a comparison of two advanced option-pricing techniques applied on European-style DAX index options. Specifically, the study examines the performance of both the stochastic volatility model based on asymmetric nonlinear GARCH, which was proposed by Heston and Nandi (2000), and the artificial neural network, where the conventional Black-Scholes-Merton model serves as a benchmark. These option-pricing models are tested with the use of the dataset covering the period 3rd July 2006 - 30th October 2009 as well as of its two subsets labelled as "before crisis" and "in crisis" data where the breakthrough day is the 17th March 2008. Finding the most appropriate option-pricing method for the whole periods as well as for both the "before crisis" and the "in crisis" datasets is the main focus of this work. The first two chapters introduce core issues involved in option pricing, while the subsequent third section provides a theoretical background related to all of above-mentioned pricing methods. At the same time, the reader is provided with an overview of the theoretical frameworks of various nonlinear optimization techniques, i.e. descent gradient, quassi-Newton method, Backpropagation and Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The empirical part of the thesis then shows that none of the...

Optimalizační modely a důchodová reforma / Reform of pension system and optimization models

Pracný, Jakub January 2010 (has links)
Pension reform is nowadays one of the most discuss economic topics among professional public. Almost every OECD country is pressured to make pension reform, because of rapid changes in demographic structure. This article is trying described basic options for pension reform. The main effort is to compare the parameters setting of these options. The first part is describing what optimization model is and how to solve it. The second part describes pension models and shows necessity for pension reform in the Czech Republic. The third part is optimization model for PAYGO system in the Czech Republic. The fourth part describes pension systems in OECD and Latin American countries. It also shows undertaken pension reforms in some of these countries. The fifth part defines theoretical approach to pension reforms by citing and summarizing articles form experts on pension systems. The sixth part is describing proposal for Czech pension reform. It is also comparing the setting of this proposal with previously described systems. It also shows influence of parameters on sustainability of system, revenues of participants and expenses of government. In conclusion, article also discusses the influence of pension reform on family relations. This part of article is mainly based on work of world famous economist Gary S. Becker.

Optimalizační metody s využitím simulací v MS Excel / The Optimization Methods with Utilization of the Simulation in MS Exel

Škulavíková, Štěpánka January 2008 (has links)
Thesis is based on original self-made application programmed at VBA in MS Excel 2007. The reason to build this application was integration of simulation Monte Carlo and chosen optimization methods. The application allows do simulation of the knapsack problem and of the assignment problem with uncertainty. The parameters of these models are possible to set up as changing values in dependence of chosen probability distribution. Output of the simulation is a probability recommendation which objects should be used. Choose of objects depend on optimized models. Results of both models are represented by statistical indexes, tables of parameters and graph.

Modelový výzkum účinnosti separačních technologií úpravy vody / Model research on the effectiveness of separation technologies for water treatment

Hofmanová, Lucie January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the effectiveness of separation technologies for water treatment. The first theoretical part mentions types of pollution that can be found in surface water. Furthermore, the interparticle interactions affecting the stability of colloidal dispersions are discussed. The following is a description of the principle, procedure, mechanisms of coagulation and factors influencing this process. The chapter dealing with types of water treatment is followed by a more detailed description of the individual separation technologies used in the water treatment plants. The important passage in the theoretical part is the description of materials and reagents used in laboratory experiments. The coagulants nanoiron and sodium water glass are characterized, as well as Bayoxide E33, CFH 0818, FILTRASORB 100 activated charcoal and DORSILIT silicate sand. The experimental part of the thesis analyses the jar test procedure. The flocculation tester intended for the jar test was used for laboratory coagulation using nanoiron and sodium water glass. The effectiveness of selected coagulants in the removal of turbidity from water during sedimentation of flakes produced in reaction vessels was investigated. In addition, the effectiveness of individual filtering materials in the removal of turbidity from water containing nanoiron/sodium water glass was investigated. In the end, the results of laboratory tests are compared and evaluated, including photos taken during experiments.
