"Co je to Já? Ivan Havel? To je jméno, to nejsem já." Biografie Ivana M. Havla / "What is I? Ivan Havel? That is a name, not who I am." Biography of Ivan M. Havel

Markupová, Jana January 2014 (has links)
This master's degree thesis, adhering to the genre of contemporary history studies, depicts the lifestory of Ivan M. Havel. Theoretically it is grounded in personalism, especially regarding to works of Ch. Mounier and M. Scheler and establishes as the primary point of reference the phenomena of individual personality, uniquely embedded into the surrounding social world. From this basic tenet the explanation is built towards the understanding of general categories, using the contexts and traditions, in which the personality had been engulfed. This thesis makes use of both oral history method and archival sources and documents study. Ivan M. Havel can be understood within enduring context of his family's intellectual, civic, political and entrepreneurial tradition, where several specific phenomena stand out. First the non-partisan spirituality, second the emphasis, laid of socially responsible conduct of business; third the stress, laid on achieving broad education, going beyond established domains and disciplines and fourth the sociability, spanning over all of these attributes. Ivan M. Havel's biography is therefore traced mainly within the period up to the 1989 year, since the childhood, deeply influenced by his grandfather H. Vavrečka, through his coming of age, spent close to the Šestatřicátníci literary...

Batková, Žaneta January 2015 (has links)
The objective of this Master's thesis is to reflect personal memories of the folklore group members on ethnographic Chod festivals, which circle around the period from the fifties till the present day. As well as putting the emphasis on comparison between the memories made before and after 1989, I also focus on the component spheres of interpretation, such as topics about traveling of the Chod folklore groups before the year of 1989 or about music careers of each of the narrators. Furthermore, I observe the changes in political situations and its potential influence on Chod Festivals and its organization and the relationship of local folk groups. The primary sources of this thesis consist of interviews conducted by oral history method with former and current members of local folk groups. The text also derives from archived materials, period press and memoir literature. During the reflection on ethnographic festival the text observes not only historical and political aspect, but the musical and social aspect as well. The biggest contribution of the thesis is therefore the presentation of the topic from different points of view. Key words: Chod Festival, Folklore, bag pipers music, communism, traveling, Oral history.

Potomci 50. let. Rodinná paměť v rodinách politických vězňů / Children of 50th years. Family Memory in Families of Political Prisoners

Olšák, Miroslav January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with family memory of 1950s Czechoslovak political prisoners. Its two major questions are: Is there a well preserved story in an actual family memory of a family ancestor who was politically persecuted and imprisoned in the period after 1948 and is his story preserved without significant shifts from reality? Given topic is being analyzed throughout a story of three particular families - those of Bedřich Fučík, Ladislav Jehlička and Karel Procházka. These three political prisoners died already, therefore were the subject of examination records of three generations of their descendents. Primary sources for this thesis are thus personal interviews with these family members. Both archive sources and original texts written byl Bedřich Fučík and Ladislav Jehlička were also used. Individual interviews have shown that a story of their ancestor is well perserved in family memory, but every particular family or narrator have their own specificities. Some narrators have shown major shifts from reality, whereas others have not. Key words political prisoners, 1950s, family memory, communist regime, oral history
