Ocorrência de rotaviroses em criações de suínos em diversos estados brasileiros / Occurrence of rotaviruses in swine herds from brasilian several states

Rita de Cássia Linares 26 April 2012 (has links)
The neonatal diarrhea constitute one of the most important economic and health factors in pig farms either by death or by the aggregate losses to the delay in the development of piglets, prophylaxis and management. Rotaviruses have a prominent role by the rapid spread within the herd, as well as the zoonotic potential, given the likelihood of genetic reassortment or recombination between human and animal samples. The objective of this study was to detect the presence of rotavirus from fecal samples from 277 piglets with clinical cases of diarrhea, from the states of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Santa Catarina (SC), Paraná (PR), Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), Mato Grosso (MT), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) e Minas Gerais (MG) between the years 2009 and 2011 and to analyze the electrophoretic migration of genomic segments and electropherotype differences in positive samples, by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) technique. From 277 piglets diarrheal stool samples analyzed, 25 were positive (25/277 = 9%). In accordance with the States of origin, were observed frequencies of 20% (1/5) in the RS, 11.1% (1/9) in SC, 12.5% (1/8) in PR, 15.3 % (6/39) in MS, 14.2% (3/21) in MT, 6.7% (5/74) in SP, 0% (0/7) in Rio de Janeiro and 7% (8/114) in MG. For the analysis of the electrophoretic migration of genome segments, all 25 positive samples showed electrophoretic profile compatible with the RV-A as a standard sample NCDV, showing characteristic fourth class or aggregates [4-2-3-2]. We observed small differences in the migration speed of one or more segments within the same class. These results highlight the importance of PAGE as a method of diagnosis and epidemiological investigations in the porcine rotavirus.

Lay-out as instrument of rhethoric.

Vanautgaerden, Alexandre 05 February 2008 (has links)
This study has three volumes : 1 (texte), 2 (illustrations), 3 (description of the library of Erasmus and the list of his editio princeps). The first volume studies the relations between Erasmus and his printers. He show that this humanist is the first to be implicated in the material production of his œuvre. He uses lay-out and differents elements of the book (tittle-page, marginalia, paragraph, index, types) to control the reception of his œuvre by the public. The first volume contains three parts: first, the chronological description of the writer searching an ideal printer. In the second part, after the meeting of Erasmus and Johann Froben in Basel in 1514, this study describes the different formules uses by Erasmus to constitute a new image of the modern book. In the last part, we describe the different letters of the Erasmus's printers. We show that Erasmus was also responsable of the revendication of his printers to be also the humanists.

January 2018 (has links)
Transparent large-page support for Itanium linux

Wienand, Ian Raymond, Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UNSW January 2008 (has links)
The abstraction provided by virtual memory is central to the operation of modern operating systems. Making the most efficient use of the available translation hardware is critical to achieving high performance. The multiple page-size support provided by almost all architectures promises considerable benefits but poses a number of implementation challenges. This thesis presents a minimally-invasive approach to transparent multiple page-size support for Itanium Linux. In particular, it examines the interaction between supporting large pages and Itanium's two inbuilt hardware page-table walkers; one being a virtual linear page-table with limited support for storing different page-size translations and the other a more flexible but higher overhead hash table based translation cache. Compared to a single-page-size kernel, a range of benchmarks show performance improvements when multiple page-sizes are available, generally large working sets that stress the TLB. However, other benchmarks are negatively impacted. Analysis shows that the increased TLB coverage, resulting from the use of large pages, frequently does not reduce TLB miss rates sufficiently to make up for the increased cost of TLB reloads. These results, which are specific to the Itanium architecture, suggest that large-page support for Itanium Linux is best enabled selectively with insight into application behaviour.

XML Enabled Page-Grouping

Lee, Hor-Tzung 04 July 2000 (has links)
As more and more services are provided via WWW, how to reduce the perceived delay in WWW interaction becomes very import to the service providers to keep their users. Pre-fetching is an important technique for reducing latency in distributes systems like the WWW. Page pre-fetching takes advantage of local machine idle period of user viewing current page to deliver pages that user like to access in the near future. Being motivated by pre-fetching ideas and its practical bothers, we propose a server-initiated page pre-fetching method: XML enabled page-grouping to reduce Web latency. In our page-grouping scheme, we anticipate the page that user will like to access in the near future based on hyperlink and referral access probabilities of each page. The predictive pages are grouped and converted into a XML file embedding in the page that user currently requests. If the user clicks the predictive linked page, the corresponding HTML is regenerated directly from the embedded XML document. The proposed scheme allows alternative of batch grouping or on-line grouping. For the reason of avoiding server extra load, we suggest that the task of grouping static pages is performed periodically at server off-peak loading time. Beside static pages, we also hope to group dynamic page generated by CGI and illustrate the feasibility with an example of Web-based database query. When compared to previous page pre-fetching techniques, our page-grouping method has simplicity and practicability. By using XML document, add-on application modules are no more needed because that the XML processor is supported in new generator browsers like Microsoft IE 5.0. Furthermore, the way of converting grouping pages into embedded XML document makes predictive pages transparent to the proxy servers and the server side speculative service can work no matter whether there are proxy servers between the server and clients. Using trace simulations based on the logs of HTTP server http://www.kcg.gov.tw, we show that 67.84% URL request is referral request. It means that the probability is about 2/3 that users retrieve next Web page by clicking hyperlinks on currently viewing page. The logs are categorized according to the kind of official service. And the statistical results of every class of logs indicate that page always has a persistent referral access probabilities for a few days. It encourages us to get high hit rate of a predictive page by selecting it according to its high referral access probability. Considering bandwidth tradeoff, we discuss hit rate, traffic increase due to grouping and traffic intensity based on M/M/1 model. For online grouping of dynamic page, we take an example of database querying page on our simulating HTTP server. The experiment result leads to the conclusion that page grouping of pages of Web-based database querying can reduce server load of CGI processing, as the hit rate of the next page is about 18.48%.

Web Page Classification Using Features from Titles and Snippets

Lu, Zhengyang January 2015 (has links)
Nowadays, when a keyword is provided, a search engine can return a large number of web pages, which makes it difficult for people to find the right information. Web page classification is a technology that can help us to make a relevant and quick selection of information that we are looking for. Moreover, web page classification is important for companies that provide marketing and analytics platforms, because it can help them to build a healthy mix of listings on search engines and large directories. This will provide more insight into the distribution of the types of web pages their local business listings are found on, and finally will help marketers to make better-informed decisions about marketing campaigns and strategies. In this thesis we perform a literature review that introduces web page classification, feature selection and feature extraction. The literature review also includes a comparison of three commonly used classification algorithms and a description of metrics for performance evaluation. The findings in the literature enable us to extend existing classification techniques, methods and algorithms to address a new web page classification problem faced by our industrial partner SweetIQ (a company that provides location-based marketing services and an analytics platform). We develop a classification method based on SweetIQ's data and business needs. Our method includes typical feature selection and feature extraction methods, but the features we use in this thesis are largely different from traditional ones used in the literature. We test selected features and find that the text extracted from the title and snippet of a web page can help a classifier to achieve good performance. Our classification method does not require the full content of a web page. Thus, it is fast and saves a lot of space.

Queiroz, João Vitor de January 2017 (has links)
