Prototyping Tools for the Early Stages of Web DesignAnggreeni, Irene January 2006 (has links)

There is a gap between low-fidelity prototyping using paper and high-fidelity prototyping using computers in web design. Design and implementation of a timeline for the WebJansson, Tobias January 2015 (has links)
Visuzalizing time information using a timeline has been done for over 250 years. Using a timeline can assist users in making sense of time data which could otherwise be hard to understand. A timeline has been implemented at Ida Infront, and its purpose is to help managers understand how cases are progressing in a case management system created by Ida Infront. The timeline is designed using usability methods and has been evaluated with regards to its usability and how it interacts. Results show that there are a number of things that can increase usability and add meaningful interaction, such as using icons to collect similar data into one point and adding filtering capabilities so that users can find interesting data faster.

En jämförande studie av två platshållare inom interaktionsdesign : Lorem ipsum vs Blokkfont Neue Regular / A comparative study of two placeholders in interaction design : Lorem ipsum vs Blokkfont Neue RegularGunnarson, Karenina January 2013 (has links)

This study presents an alternate viewpoint to the strive to overcome the gap between research and practitioners within paper prototyping in interaction design. Earlier research identifies three aspects of this gap, which is: Practitioners being unaware of interaction design methods and theories Practitioners being aware, but choosing not to apply these methods and theories, due to time, budget and constraints of labour Practitioners and research having different perspective on similar design issues Our study was done by carrying out qualitative interviews with interaction designers based on two digital design bureaus. One of the bureaus has an expressed link to research: the other has not. Our hypothesis is that the gap would manifest as a difference in work practice between the two bureaus. Our study shows that the two bureaus have similarities in work practice and that this work practice is based on scientific methods and theories, but is adapted to fit the client and/or the project. We conclude that the overcoming of the gap might not be necessary. Perhaps the nature of the design process with its complexity makes this hard. We advocate a trust in the practitioner’s ability to consider and adapt methods and theories regarded necessary.

Läkemedelssökning i vårddokumentationssystem : En användarcentrerad utveckling av läkemedelssökning i vårddokumentationssystemKvarnström, Mattis, Karlström, Daniel January 2010 (has links)

This thesis examines the problems related to IT in the Swedish healthcare system, specifically the drug searching part of the electronic healthcare systems used in Sweden. The question formulation is divided into two questions: What parameters and functions are of greatest importance when performing a search on drugs, and how should these be presented in a graphical user interface? Thus the purpose is to answer these questions through developing a design concept, in the form of a prototype, which describes how a drug search can be carried out.

The entry point is a central quality checked drug database that is managed and owned by Swedish county councils and regions. The problem is attacked through user-centered methods where interviews of physicians and developers, in conjunction with observations, are used to give an overview of the problem area as well as to specify a requirements specification for the prototype that this thesis aims to develop. The thesis result is a requirements specification in combination with a prototype that exemplifies how drug searching can be performed, the prototype is based the requirements gathered from the interviews with the user group of physicians.
/
