Skapa webbdesign för en kommunikationsbyrå / Creating webdesign for a communication agency

Karlsson, Victor January 2012 (has links)

Lindfors, Alexander, Amundsson, Eric January 2017 (has links)
SÖRAB is a waste disposal firm that is operative in nine of the municipalities in Stockholm County, Sweden. Each municipality has their own separate management of information and services. SÖRAB aspires to facilitate the process of finding and placing orders on waste disposal services for the residents in these municipalities. This thesis examines what should be done in order to centralize the municipalities’ waste disposal information into a shared portal. The main difficulties, concerning centralization, are that the municipalities use different underlying customer systems and have different practices in regulating waste disposal rates. After proposals for solutions for the identified problems are presented, an investigation into the most suited application type for the portal is conducted. This investigation focuses on a comparison between the two application types native mobile applications and mobile web applications. The usability of the portal is considered important. Hence different techniques, aiming to increase the usability of the graphical interface, are researched and presented. The identified problem areas, the application study and the usability aspects are the foundation for the development of a functional prototype of the portal. The result of the thesis is a prototype of a responsive web application. The prototype is implemented with the framework Angular. In order to facilitate potential future development, an architectural document describing the prototype is written. The thesis can be usable for future implementation projects. It presents a functioning methodology, gives insight in usability principles and compares pros and cons with different application types.

En jämförande studie av två platshållare inom interaktionsdesign : Lorem ipsum vs Blokkfont Neue Regular / A comparative study of two placeholders in interaction design : Lorem ipsum vs Blokkfont Neue Regular

Gunnarson, Karenina January 2013 (has links)

Global Family Networking for the Elderly : Evaluation and Redesign of ModernFamilies.net

Vanhauer, Marleen January 2009 (has links)

This paper, the corresponding wireframe documentation including the functional prototype and flowchart document the evaluation and redesign of the beta version of the social networking platform ModernFamilies.net. In order to reveal possible usability flaws for people of different generations, in particular the elderly, a user-centered design approach including an expert review, diary studies and interviews were conducted. The findings reflected the need for consistency and feedback in general. For young children, the concept of the site appeared to behard to grasp. Experienced users found the access and management of relatives cumbersome. Most importantly, the elderly, novice computer users had a hard time getting started with the site on their own because they did not have access to a PC nor internet at their home. The latter and the fact, that some issues might never be solved by traditional usability testing because the user just feels overwhelmed by the vast amount of communication features he is faced with today calls for alternative, more intelligent, ambient interfaces. However, we came to the conclusion that although evaluation of such new technologies with elderly people is not alwayseasy, it is best to be conducted in the participants home or a similar environment.
/ AGNES

Designing for usability of 3D configuration in E-commerce : Interactive design of 3D in web applications / Design för användbarhet i 3D-konfigurering inom e-handel : Interaktiv design av 3D i webbapplikationer

Axelsson, Alfred January 2017 (has links)
Mass production of consumer products is both wasteful and limit the consumers' power to influence the design of what they are buying. When shopping for a product, the customer must choose between a range of specific products with limited variations. What if the customer could make all the design choices, creating and buying the product according to his or her own needs? A 3D product generator holding a configurable model of a product was created to replace static content in online stores and give creative power to customers. This work aimed at creating an effective 3D product generator by evaluating how users experience the design of and interaction with it, and finding general design goals when introducing interactive 3D content in static 2D environments. A prototype of a 3D product generator in a generic online storefront was implemented in two iterations, improving on and evaluating the design through usability testing. The evaluation of the final prototype suggested that the interface was indeed effective in both design and interaction. This work concludes that user feedback is crucial to creating a successful user experience, which in turn is important when creating interfaces for product configuration.

Smart users, smart homes, and the search for a smarter application : A qualitative study of the usability in a smart home application and how it can be improved

Hagelberg, Alicia January 2018 (has links)
Smart home technology and IoT is rapidly gaining popularity, and many systems use mobile applications to control the hardware in the homes of the owners. Connective created by Indentive is one such system, which allows users to control things like the temperature in their homes via their smartphones. However, the usability of applications such as this one can be limited, which leads to frustration and even loss of interest for the users. This can result in critical implications for the company producing such a system – both economically and in regards to popularity. It is therefore important for companies to detect issues with their systems early on in order to address these issues and prevent negative implications. Connective was thus tested in a qualitative study using contextual inquiries with 7 participants. The data from the inquiries was then structured through thematic analysis, and the usability of the application was also tested using SUS-evaluation. Wireframe suggestions for changes to the application were then brainstormed with the thematic analysis and the result of the SUS in mind. Major issues that were addressed were access to help, information, the layout, the handling of errors, and feedback. Future studies should include further, more in-depth qualitative studies, perhaps in combination with quantitative data, to further improve and develop the wireframe-suggestions into working prototypes that can then be user tested.

Learning features for extrinsic camera calibration of wide-angle cameras

Holmkvist, Albin, Björkander, Max January 2023 (has links)
This thesis attempts to solve the problem of estimating the extrinsic camera parameters (pitch and roll) from a wide-angle view image. The first contributionis a data generation pipeline capable of producing wide-angle distorted images with rotation and line segment annotations. This pipeline was used to produce four datasets with distortion and rotation in the range −5◦ to 5◦. The second contribution is two neural networks aiming to estimate the roll and pitch angles, one where line segments are used, and one where ResNet and DenseNet features are used. The roll and pitch angles are predicted both directly and with vanishing points as an intermediate representation in both networks. The line segment network managed to extract line segments from distorted images, and predict the roll and pitch angles with a mean error of 3.70◦ over all datasets. The network with features from ResNet and DenseNet performed the best with a mean angle error of 1.02◦ over all datasets.

Metodika analýzy a návrhu webu (MANW) / The web analysis and design methodology MANW

Karlec, Jakub January 2009 (has links)
The main subject of this thesis is to prepare the web analysis and design methodology, MANW. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the definition of the methodological framework on the basis of which the methodology will be built. The framework comes out from the methodological framework MEFIS which has been accustomed to comply with specific needs of the web application and websites development. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the research of existing methodologies for web project implementation. Based on the research, the elements of the methodologies suitable for analysis and design are selected and then incorporated into the MANW methodology. The last part of the thesis is the description of the methodology itself and description of its characteristics and elements. The goal of the diploma thesis is to prepare a simple methodology for websites and web applications analysis and design which can be used in agile web development. The methodology is described by its phases, processes, roles, inputs and outputs and other elements which are defined in the elaborated methodological framework. The output of methodology processes are the data for implementation, deployment and operation of web solutions. It was necessary to define the term methodology and define a methodological framework first in order to work out the methodology itself successfully. Another starting point for methodology design was the research of existing methodologies which also serves as an introduction to the problems of web projects implementation and provides an overview of existing tools. Output of the thesis is the MANW methodology which is a synthesis of the working experience and of a methodological framework theory. This methodology is easily modifiable and thanks to the clear process definition it can provide the companies with an effective solution of web products analysis and design.
