Atvykusiųjų į Lietuvą suaugusiųjų lietuvių kalbos mokymosi sunkumai: etnografinis atvejo tyrimas / Adult Newcomers’ Difficulties in Learning Lithuanian: an Ethnographic Case Study

Zygmantas, Janete 30 June 2011 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The main research problem of this doctoral dissertation, designed as an ethnographic case study, based on the philosophical principles of critical pedagogy, lies in answering the following questions: What theoretical framework may be used to investigate adult newcomers’ difficulties in learning Lithuanian in the host country? Are there any foreign/second language education approaches that are conductive to learning in adulthood? Do these approaches facilitate the development of a communicative competence, facilitating learners‘ inclusion in the new society through language? The research is aimed at identifying adult newcomers’ difficulties in learning Lithuanian, at a basic level of studies, in the host country. Having used the grounded theory and qualitative data gathering methods, the perceived difficulties were analyzed in the light of the causal attribution theory. The total of 840 categories of learning difficulties were classified into two groups: 1) the environment (external) factors (522 / 62 %) – lack of appropriate educational resources, Lithuanian as a system, non-participation in society; classroom activities and task complexity; and 2) the learner (internal) factors (318 / 38 %) – lack of ability, confidence or effort. Along with a thick description of the socio-cultural context, a critical analysis of the Lithuanian language materials, activities and tasks was done, based on adult foreign/second language education theories. Based on analytical (theoretical)... [to full text]

Pedagogický odkaz Ivana Galamiana. / Ivan Galamian's Pedagogical Legacy

Snyder, Ian John January 2014 (has links)
Ivan Galamian's formidable reputation as a violin teacher is internationally recognized. Many of the world's outstanding violinists studied with him at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia or The Juilliard School in New York City, and their fame perpetuates his. At the same time, very little is known about Galamian's early years, his exact methods on the violin, his nature as a teacher, and the general question of how he accomplished such outstanding results with his students. This lack of awareness is the case in the United States, where many of his students are aging or deceased. Members of the youngest generation of violinists tend to have only a vague awareness of his writings and perhaps familiarity with his scale method - even if they are close to Galamian in the "family tree" of violinists. This lack of awareness appears to be even more the case in Europe, whose music schools and orchestras are less likely to contain Galamian students (though they certainly do). The goal, then, of this thesis is to shed much-needed light on the extraordinary life, thoughts, and teaching of Galamian. The reader should come away with an increased awareness of an important life in the history of the instrument, greater awareness of key technical points on the instrument, and an understanding of what made Galamian - and could make any aspiring teacher - great. There is also an attempt to provide balanced criticism of Galamian's method so that the reader may see what did not work in his teaching and so that our awareness of Galamian is not simply as a mythic figure but as a fully three-dimensional participant in the history of the violin.

Umění koloraturního sopránu / Art of coloratura Soprano

Dolejší, Anna January 2012 (has links)
The theme of " Art of coloratura soprano" I chose because it is closely related to program of my graduation concert, which included arias from the field altogether. In the first part of my work I try to clarify the meaning and usefulness of technical resources associared with coloratura technigue for lyric sopranos. Another part deals with the history and distribution of the roles within this fields. In the part I present elected representatives Edita Gruberova, Jana Jonášová and Maria Tauberova, which are very significant contributions on the field in the coloratura soprano, and clarify individual positive contribution of these singers to my person. I map the developmental stage of these three singers, I deal with theoretical studies of their repertoire at any given stage, and I evaluate it. I try to use audio recordings to master some technical means of expression of an individual performers, to embrace it and then to implement to my own interpretation of the arias ( Carolina - The Two Widows, Bedrich Smetana, Gilda - Rigoletto, Giuseppe Verdi, Lucia di Lammermoor, Gaetano Donizetti).
