Bakgrund: Att bli äldre kan innebära flytt till särskilt boende. Faktorer som kan bidra till trivsel är bland annat social kontakt samt den fysiska miljön. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka om äldre i särskilda boenden med ett eget kök/pentry i större utsträckning har social kontakt och högre skattad trivsel än de utan eget kök/pentry. Design: Tvärsnittsstudie med kvantitativ ansats. Metod: Data från 4469 enkäter insamlade mellan november 2013 och september 2014 analyserades i SPSS. Resultat: Samband mellan kök och social kontakt gick inte påvisa men däremot fann vi en statistisk signifikant skillnad i skattad trivsel hos de med eget kök/pentry och social kontakt i jämförelse med dem utan. Konklusion: Inget samband återfanns mellan eget kök och social kontakt, däremot ser trivsel hos äldre ut att påverkas om man har eget kök eller inte. Ytterligare studier efterfrågas, speciellt om kökets innebörd för den äldre. Factors that can contribute to thriving are social contact and physical environment among others. Aim: The aim of this study was to explore if elderly within special housings who had access to their own kitchen were inclined to have more social contact and a higher level of thriving than those without. Design: Cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. Method: Data from 4469 surveys were collected between November 2013 and September 2014 and then analysed with SPSS Results: Connection between having an own kitchen and social contact was not found in this study. However, we did find a link between thriving and having a kitchen as well as having social contact. Conclusion: No association was found between having an own kitchen and social contact, however, thriving does seem to be affected if you have a kitchen or not. Hemmiljön har fått ett större utrymme och blivit allt viktigare i våra liv. Vi håller gärna till i köket, hem­mets hjärta, där vi umgås samtidigt som vi lagar mat. Husvagnstillverkarna har också förstått vikten av de­sign och formgivning och erbjuder kunderna att utfor­ma vissa delar i husvagnen själva efter eget tycke och smak. Det kan vara planlösning, färgsättning, tygval mm, allt för att husvagnen ska kännas personlig och hemtrevlig. Enligt Cabby liknar husvagnen mer och mer hemmet, både vad gäller utseende och komfort. Det ska kännas som hemma fastän man är på resande fot. Cabby och återförsäljare som intervjuats berättar att husvagnsintresserade kvinnor har stort inflytande vid ett eventuellt husvagnsköp, att det är de som avgör om det blir ett köp eller inte. Första intrycket spelar stor roll och oftast är det köket man först möter när man kliver in i vagnen. Uppdraget var att se över färg, form och funktion ur ett ergonomiskt perspektiv i ett befintligt vinkelkök, i en modell gjord för två personer. Flerfunktionella lös­ningar som frigör mer yta och förvaring efterfrågades. Syftet med examensarbetet var att hitta de områden i pentryt som bör utvecklas, där målet var att väva sam­man husvagnspentryt med hemmaköket, att skapa ett användarvänligt, funktionellt pentry som erbjuder god arbetsyta och flexibilitet. Två enkätndersökningar gjordes, en där husvagnsan­vändare fick svara på hur väl deras husvagn uppfyller deras behov, och en där kvinnor och män fick svara på liknande frågor rörande hur hemmets kök uppfyllde deras behov. Det visade sig att husvagnsanvändarnas behov främst rör arbetsytan, som inte är tillräckligt stor och flexibel, att 75% av de tillfrågade husvagnsan­vändarna lagar sin mat från grunden. För kvinnor i hemmet var det bl a viktigt att kunna anpassa arbetsytan efter sina egna behov och att kunna arbeta och umgås flera personer samtidigt. Platsanalysen visade bl a. på outnyttjade utrymmen under bänk­skivan samt skåpluckor som utgör en skaderisk. Resultatet blev ett pentry med smart förvaring mer likt ett hemmakök med flexibla arbetsytor, renare linjer med ett enklare uttryck, till skillnad mot nuvarande pentry med sitt runda formspråk. Lösningen medger att flera personer samtidigt kan laga mat och umgås i och kring pentryt. Resultatet presenterades med en färdig prototyp. / The home environment has been given a larger space and has become increasingly important in our lives. We like to be in the kitchen, the heart of home, where we hang out while we cook. Caravan manufacturers have also understood the importance of designing and offers the customers to style some parts of the caravan themselves from their own ideas. It can be a matter of planning, colour scheme or choice of textile fabrics, all to make the caravan feel cosy and intimate. According to Cabby the caravan becomes more and more like home, both in appearance and comfort. It should feel like home even though you are on the road. Cabby and dealers interviewed said that women have a great influence on their partners, if there is going to be a purchase or not. First impression plays a major role and usually it is the kitchen you see first when you walk into the caravan. The commission was to review colour, shape and function from an ergonomic perspective in an already existing L-shaped built kitchen, in a model designed for two people. Multi-functional solutions that open up more space and storage were requested. The purpose of this study was to identify the sectors in the kitchen to be developed, where the idea was to link together the caravan kitchen with the home kitchen, to create a user-friendly and functional kitchenette offering good working space and flexibility. Two surveys were made, one where the caravan users were asked how well their caravan meets their needs, and one where men and women were asked to answer similar questions regarding how homekitchens meets their needs. The analyses showed that the needs of caravan users foremost concern the working space, which is not large and flexible enough. 75% of the users asked were cooking their food from scratch. For women it was among other things important to be able to adjust the working space to their needs and also be able to work and socialize with several people at the same time. The location analysis showed numerous factors, including the unused space under the worktop and the cabinet doors, which can cause injuries. The result was a kitchenette with clever storage, more like a home kitchen with flexible working spac­es, clean lines and angular forms, unlike the current kitchen with its circular design. The solution allows several people to cook and hang out in and around the kitchenette. The results were presented together with a completed prototype.
