Přibyl, Josef January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of thesis is to design measurment system of productivity in SME (real company Mironet.cz from It sector). The theoretical part consists of a description of the applied methodology and description of the company itself. The practical part focuses directly on the strategic analysis including identification of strengths and weaknesses , opportunities and threats. It is followed up setting strategic objectives for each perspective of the Balanced Scorecard , strategic mind-map creation and establishing scales individual sub- strategic objectives. The end of thesis consider possible applications of the Balanced Scorecard.

Návrh a implementace principů měření výkonnosti procesů finanční účtárny / Implementation of process performance measurement in a financial accounting department

Pešata, Karel January 2012 (has links)
The thesis deals with the subject of process performance measurement in a financial accounting department in the context of outsourcing these processes or their parts. The aim of the thesis is to propose a set of indicators for measuring the performance of financial accounting department in the context of processes in an international telecommunications company with respect to effective measurement, integrity with corporate business processes and meaningful and correct values of these metrics. Firstly, in the theoretical part, the reader is informed about the core processes in a finance accounting department. The reader is informed about the basic terms related to performance measurement, in particular KPI's (definition, implementation, evaluation, meaning ...). Finally, basic concepts associated with outsourcing are explained and the importance of performance indicators in the relationship between the supplier of the accounting services and the customer is outlined. The practical part deals with the design of performance indicators for a finance accounting department of an international telecommunications company. The indicators are designed to reflect the processes in the company. An emphasis is on those processes (or parts thereof) that are provided externally - by a third party provider of accounting services. Each indicator is defined by its description, meaning and method of measurement. If any adjustments to the processes are necessary, these process changes are described. The weaknesses and risks of implementation are indicated in the following section. The results of the individual measurements are presented for a minimum of 6 consecutive months (where it was possible to obtain data retrospectively, the values are calculated for the minimum of 12 months).

Performance management and Executive Agencies : strategy and outcomes in Jamaica

Cummings, Charmaine Isabelle January 2014 (has links)
This thesis explores the question of whether Performance Management Systems (PMS) contribute to the managing of Executive Agencies (EAs). Exploring this question empirically in the context of the Jamaican public sector, it develops a realist methodology with methods, which are applied to the study of four Jamaican Executive Agencies (JEAs). Primary research conducted in 2011 through semi-structured interviews is combined with secondary research that considers both official government and unofficial resources such as reports (official) and newspapers (unofficial). The thesis is one of very few studies to focus on JEAs, one of only two studies to explore PMS in JEAs, and the first to make a focus on PMS in JEAs the primary object of study. It therefore contributes to a very limited literature, which is, therefore, both a strength of the thesis insofar as it breaks new ground, and also a challenge. It is a challenge because the lack of available literature on JEAs with which to relate. In order to address this lack, drawing on Historical Institutionalism (HI), Path Dependency (PD) and Policy Transfer theories, it argues that it is reasonable to draw on British literature owing to the historical influences of Britain on Jamaica, their institutional and constitutional contexts and, particularly, because the agencification of the Jamaican public sector has been based on the British Next Steps Model. From reviewing the British literature an Integrative Conceptual Framework (ICF) is developed. This framework incorporates those factors deemed as critical to the development of PMS in the organisational performance management literature, (that is, both management and public management), in order to harness the structural, procedural, situational and behavioural aspects discussed in the existing literature into a single framework. The ICF is at the heart of the thesis because it influences the methods used in conducting the primary research, and the presentation of research findings. It is therefore a major contribution of the thesis, and it is recommended that this framework could be applied in other contexts (e.g. in the private sector) and locations (e.g. in countries other than Jamaica) to analyse the use of PMS for managing. By triangulating the primary research findings with secondary data, that is, existing literature on the four case studies, the ICF is applied to generate a longitudinal aspect to the study. It is also found that PMS do contribute to managing JEAs, and that the use of PMS in JEAs has evolved positively over time for managing JEAs. The research findings discuss how PMS contributes to managing the four JEAs in terms of the different components of the ICF. Based on this, the study is able to add to existing academic literature, and make recommendations to practitioners. The contribution of this thesis to literature therefore incorporates both a conceptual and theoretical aspect, and also has a practical element. Both of these, it claims, could form the basis for further research.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Fernando Santos De Oliveira.pdf: 3269879 bytes, checksum: 09ed535c5a81984aed10645fbbdb3f79 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-04-07 / It is important that the machining processes are continually improved in order to provide competitive advantages and economic conditions for manufacturing companies. A very used manufacturing process, mainly because it is one of the few that allow obtaining small diameter internal thread, is the thread tapping with thread cutting taps. As such, thread tapping is one of the last process to be carried out and any failure can influence in production costs. One way to reduce costs is by increasing the useful life of the thread tap through the use of surface treatments, coatings or cutting fluids. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to evaluate the performance of the application of a dry impregnated lubrication on the surface of thread taps, with a focus on conventional tapping process improvement concerning tool useful life and, consequently, costs reduction. For this purpose, tests in the tapping process were performed using high speed steel taps in two conditions, i.e., treated or not with a dry impregnated lubrication. The results obtained allow to conclude that the procedure employed was appropriate, because it increased the tool useful life, reduced the tool wear, and maintained the thread quality, promoting a reduction in manufacturing costs.
