Vaniš, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of demographic indicators and their development for the member states of the current European Union. The work is thematically divided into four chapters. The first chapter is mostly theoretically defined, for the purpose of explanation of all basic concepts. The second chapter shows us where Europe currently stands in terms of demographics. The third chapter is focused on defining the consequences of natural movement. The last chapter offers an analysis of a survey, in which total of 453 respondents from ten countries from allover Europe have participaded. There is no doubt, that the aging of population will have extensive social and economic soconsequences for Europe. On the other hand, we musn't forget that it is also an indicator of social and economic development, and therefore we should not be limited to perceive it only in a negative way.

Krize a perspektivy sociálního státu / The Crisis Of The Welfare State And Perspectives

Duranová, Marie January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the problem of welfare state. It focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the causes of the welfare state's problems, and, furthermore it outlines the risks that these problems bring. In the analytical part, these risks are calculated in three areas, which are financing system, family policy and population aging. The Czech Republic is compared in these indicators with countries that have been selected based on Esping-Andersen typology of welfare state: the UK, Germany, Denmark and the United States of America. The results of the analysis are evaluated in conclusion of the thesis. On this basis, ther are formulated recommendations for the Czech Republic, which has the biggest deficiencies in family policy in comparison with other selected countries. Denmark, a representative of the Scandinavian welfare state model, has relatively best results; on the other hand, the United States, with its emphasis on free market, individual freedom and own responsibility principles, face the challenge. The crisis of the welfare state does not have to necessarily result into the end; however, it is inevitable to imply certain unavoidable steps. These measures do not hold for the Czech Republic.

Integrace dobrovolnictví do sociálních služeb pro seniory v ČR / Integration of volunteering in social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic

Krbcová, Alena January 2008 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Integration of volunteering in social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic" deals with nowadays ageing population has become substantial part of the development of society. One of the important instruments of social policy to fight the adverse effects of the ageing population should be prevention and also the quality of social services for old people, support for civil society and volunteering, which contribution to the society is important and is going to strengthen in the future. Generally, the importance of a volunteer for a old person is as an intermediary with the world outside, and as an associate who has time only for him. The volunteer helps developing civic virtue and solving social problems usually as a partner of the state services and of the non-profit sector. In the consequence of a significant change in the legislation, which was put into practice by a new law in social services, I focus my work primarily on what the new law brings and how it has changed the scope of its social services in practice during its year-and-half force. And what role the phenomenon of volunteering defines too.

Degenerativní změny kloubních spojení u velkomoravské populace z lokality Mikulčice - Valy / Degenerative joint disease in Great Moravian population from the locality Mikulčice - Valy

Müllerová, Soňa January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis had two primary objectives. The first one was to examine if the incidence and development of primary degenerative joint disease (DJD) of the joints of the vertebral column and the limbs in an early medieval population from a cemetery by the sixth church in Mikulčice were affected mainly by the skeletal age of the deceased, or if other factor of physical loads was more significant. A set of 83 skeletal remains was evaluated primarily by Waldron's method (2009), but methods by Stloukal and Vyhnánek (1976); Buikstra and Ubelaker (1994); and Sager (1969) were also used. Schmorl nodes and eburnation were tracked too. Evaluated were vertebral joint (both intervertebral and apophyseal), jaw and limb joints. The results indicate that the incidence of degenerative joint disease in intervertebral joints, temporomandibular joint and appendicular joints is significantly affected by age, with the onset of degeneration being after the 40th year of skeletal age. No correlation of incidence of Schmorl nodes with age was present, and only a few cases of eburnace were noted. The relationship between the presence of DJD and the sex of the skeletons was not approved. I have compared these results with those from similar studies. I have deemed the primary evaluation by Waldron's method to be good...

Modelování vývoje povrchu patra člověka od 7 let do dospělosti / Modelling of human palate surface development from 7 years to adulthood

Moravec, Tomáš January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the differences in the development of the palate in girls and boys within five age groups in the age range of 7 to 19 years, using methods of geometric morphometry. Furthermore, the work deals with the monitoring of sexual dimorphism in the development of the palate. Understanding palate growth, knowledge of differences in its development and changes related to sexual dimorphism are very useful, as the results of this study will serve as a comparative standard for palate defects in the Czech population, but also for appropriate planning of orthodontic procedures. The material consists of 228 gypsum castings of palate without any pathologies, 112 of which belonged to boys and 116 girls of the Czech population. Thus, transverse data are used in our study. The subjects were divided into five age groups 7, 10, 12, 15 and 19 with respect to gender. Age changes of the entire palate surface were modeled using geometric morphometry methods (Coherent point drift - Dense correspondence analysis, Per vertex T- test and Principal component analysis). To visualize the results, superprojection color maps, maps of significance and superprojection. The results show the greatest variability in the form of palate in girls of groups 10 and 12 years and in boys of groups 10 years, and...
