Student: Simona Medviďová Title of thesis: Formulation and testing of branched polyesters siRNA-loaded nanoparticles The progression of development increases demand for new and more effective drug systems formulations. This diploma thesis is focused on the preparation of nanoparticles from biodegradable branched polyesters based on PLGA, which are suitable for the transport of an oligonucleotide of a small interfering nucleic acid, siRNA. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of usable polymers, their possible modifications, the methods of preparation with closer look at the selected nanoprecipitation method, the important parameters such as particles size, zeta potential, and polydispersity. The main part is also characterization of siRNA in terms of structure, properties, modifications, and its function. A more extensive experimental part deals with the appropriate choice of type and concentration of polyester and stabilizer, methods of preparation and characterization of nanoparticles, and the possibility of analyzing encapsulated siRNA. Chapters results and discussion compares polyesters branched on tripentaerythritol, and polyacrylic acid...

Adapting to the CSRD and Reporting of Scope 3 Emissions: Strategies for Newly Affected Companies : A Study of the Challenes and Potential Solutions for Companies Newly Affected by the CSRD / Anpassning till CSRD och rapportering av Scope 3-utsläpp: Strategier för Nyligen Berörda FöretagMunthe Nilsson, Alexandra, Nilsson, Karin January 2023 (has links)
As part of the EU’s sustainable strategy in reducing emissions and combating climate change the EU introduced the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in 2022. This directive requires the reporting of sustainability information from a significantly wider group of companies. The CSRD imposes higher demands on reporting and especially within a company’s Scope 3 transportation emissions. The study aims to identify and understand the challenges newly affected companies face in collecting and reporting scope 3 transportation emissions to comply with the CSRD. The study also intends to shed light on the resource and capability gaps that newly affected companies encounter and propose strategies and solutions to address these challenges. The study draws from institutional theory combined with are source-based view of a company to propose a hypothesis that companies face resource and capability gaps due to institutional pressure. The research methodology employed was exploratory multi-method qualitative research. The findings identified how companies, needing to adapt to the CSRD, perceived a regulatory institutional pressure in the form of new and higher requirements and demands now placed on them. In addition the exploration resulted in identification of external challenges, affecting companies ability to comply with the new legalization. Furthermore, internal and supplier challenges were discovered as factors within companies that affect their compliance. These highlighted the presence of resource and capability gaps within companies. In order to close these gaps, the study proposes several strategies and solutions together with a roadmap to address these challenges, ultimately guiding companies towards managing institutional pressures and enhancing their sustainable competitive advantage. Solutions regarding management and strategy as well as tangible operations were identified. These solutions and strategies include developing a sustainability culture within the organization, engaging with stakeholders through collaboration and communication efforts, and implementing technology solutions for data collection and analysis. The study can potentially be utilized by companies to navigate useful solutions when trying to comply with the CSRD. Additionally, the study contributes to guiding companies towards a future position of managing institutional pressure while enhancing their sustainable competitive advantage. Companies are encouraged to shift and transform their viewpoint of complying with the institutional pressure of CSRD from a compliance-focused approach towards a corporate social responsibility-driven sustainable approach with long-term value development. The study thus contributes with a new perspective by highlighting how complying with sustainability reporting can become a tool for advancing corporate responsibility and contributing to a more sustainable development and responsible business landscape.

Previous issue date: 2006-08-16 / The increasing quality lost of underground water all over the world, due to intensified
antropic action during many decades, may make impracticable the future use of this
natural resource. The modernity including its promise of adventure, power, joy,
growth, interior change and change of the things around it (...) is at the same time the
threat to all we have, all we know, all we are (Berman, 1988). According to this idea,
the environment issue claims the problematicals consequences of the modernity and
capitalist dynamics. Many are the environment problems, such as the freatic water
pollution. These resources already supply more than 50% of the world population
with water. The way today we face the environment problem and the way we
understand them, its instruments, its politics such as all the dynamic brought in the
search of its confrontation, are part of the big questions of this century. The freatic
water environment problems occurs whenever more people demand higher life style
standard with cheaper technologies, even if the involuntary sub products include the
soil degradation, the toxic polluter, the animal species´ extinction or the climate
changes. The environment is the totality of physiographic factors (soil), water, forest,
relief, geology, landscape, meteorological factors and climate factors added to
psycho-socials inherent to human nature (such as behavior, well-being, mind spirit,
job, health, food) added to sociological factors such as culture, civility, sociability,
respect and peace. So the planet Earth should be considered as a unique system. As
we expand our understanding about the system which controls the environment and
its never-ending interconnections, potential solutions will consolidate. The study of
freatic water systems capacity/potentiality and natural geosystems as support to
human needs will be a way of consolidating the scientific knowledge. It will do the
necessary inter-relation between the natural environment and human potentiality.
This way, an increasing consciousness related to environment issue appears as the
possibility of the union between human and nature, both can t be analyzed as
excludents poles. In the next pages, Goiânia and Aparecida de Goiânia cities are
explore about yours underground water.
a utilização futura desse recurso natural.
Nesse sentido a questão ambiental evoca as
convivência, o respeito, a paz etc. é que iluminará a sobrevivência humana. Dessa
as potencialidades humanas.
