Estudo de viabilidade da instalação de usinas solares fotovoltaicas no Estado do Rio Grande do SulPeraza, Danielle Goulart January 2013 (has links)
The use of photovoltaic solar energy is widespread in the world and has promising character in Brazil today. Despite the large Brazilian potential, this energy source still shows low levels of utilization. The competitiveness of photovoltaic generation in large solar photovoltaic power plants has not yet reached acceptable levels with attractive rates of financial return to the national market. Because it is a renewable source of energy, its use in the world has been increasing in recent years. Even in countries that have lower solar potential than Brazil, this source of energy has been competitive due to the incentives offered. Given this perspective, this paper seeks to show the possibilities for integration of photovoltaic solar plants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The proposed plant has a generation capacity of 30 MWp . This study aims to present a proposal to diversify the electricity generation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, presenting a new alternative source of renewable energy . For this achievement, the existing transmission lines and substations were studied in the state of Rio Grande do Sul as a way to evaluate the possibility of direct connection of the new plant, with the objective of reducing the cost of installation. The calculation of photovoltaic productivity for the state of Rio Grande do Sul and cost analysis of installing this source was held as well the price ratio of centralized generation.

Online boiler convective heat exchanger monitoring: a comparison of soft sensing and data-driven approachesPrinsloo, Gerto 07 May 2019 (has links)
Online monitoring supports plant reliability and performance management by providing real time information about the condition of equipment. However, the intricate geometries and harsh operating environment of coal fired power plant boilers inhibit the ability to do online measurements of all process related variables. A low-cost alternative lies in the possibility of using knowledge about boiler operation to extract information about its condition from standard online process measurements. This approach is evaluated with the aim of enhancing online condition monitoring of a boiler’s convective pass heat exchanger network by respectively using a soft sensor and a data-driven method. The soft sensor approach is based on a one-dimensional thermofluid process model which takes measurements as inputs and calculates unmeasured variables as outputs. The model is calibrated based on design information. The data-driven method is one developed specifically in this study to identify unique fault signatures in measurement data to detect and quantify changes in unmeasured variables. The fault signatures are initially constructed using the calibrated one-dimensional thermofluid process model. The benefits and limitations of these methods are compared at the hand of a case study boiler. The case study boiler has five convective heat exchanger stages, each composed of four separate legs. The data-driven method estimates the average conduction thermal resistance of individual heat exchanger legs and the flue gas temperature at the inlet to the convective pass. In addition to this, the soft sensor estimates the average fluid variables for individual legs throughout the convective pass and therefore provides information better suited for condition prognosis. The methods are tested using real plant measurements recorded during a period which contained load changes and on-load heat exchanger cleaning events. The cleaning event provides some basis for validating the results because the qualitative changes of some unmeasured monitored variables expected during this event are known. The relative changes detected by both methods are closely correlated. The data-driven method is computationally less expensive and easily implementable across different software platforms once the fault signatures have been obtained. Fault signatures are easily trainable once the model has been developed. The soft sensors require the continuous use of the modelling software and will therefore be subject to licencing constraints. Both methods offer the possibility to enhance the monitoring resolution of modern boilers without the need to install any additional measurements. Implementation of these monitoring frameworks can provide a simple and low-cost contribution to optimized boiler performance and reliability management.

Aerodynamika axiálních větrných turbín / Aerodynamics of axial wind turbinesDubnický, Ladislav January 2019 (has links)
Nowadays, the climate change issue is becoming more and more actual in our society. Increase of the average temperature on Earth in a couple of degrees could have catastrophic consequences. One of the possible solutions seems to be renewable energy sources as photovoltaics, biomass of water and wind energy. This thesis deals with the aerodynamics problems of wind energy source. Wind turbines transform kinetic energy of wind to mechanical power. The efficiency is physically limited to 59,26 %, but in reality, it is getting around 45 %. This is caused by three biggest losses inducted in wind turbines as wake losses, losses due to finite number of blades and drag losses. Based on analytical relationships and including these three losses the aerodynamics blade design is conducted. Later, the numerical simulations show higher values of drag and lower values of lift force on airfoil compared to analytical calculation. In fact, percentage deviations are acceptable and to conclude, the numerical analysis was able to relatively accurately simulate force action of free stream velocity on the blade.

Možnosti likvidace a recyklace fotovoltaických panelů v ČR / Aspects of the disposal and recykling of photovoltaic panels in CRPapírek, Jan January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on the assessment of the possibilities of disposal of photovoltaic panels installed in the Czech Republic. In addition to the basic theory of photovoltaic cells and panels, the theoretical parts describe legislation, subsidies in the field of photovoltaics and the development of photovoltaics in the Czech Republic. As part of recycling, their methods, work with the collective system, as well as the impact on the environment are analyzed. In the experimental part, using the data of the installed capacity and the average weights of the panels, various projections of the disposal of the panels over time are made, which take into account factors such as the life of the power plant or the capacity of the recycling line. Furthermore, according to the available literature, an analysis of the revenue from the sale of recycled materials contained in panels installed in our territory is performed. Subsequently, the needs of future implementers of proven estimates of labor and logical demands were assessed. Finally, an economic evaluation of the fundamental aspects of the FRELP recycling process was performed and the net prices of different recycling directions were determined.

Mechanism Design for Virtual Power Plant with Independent Distributed GeneratorsKulmukhanova, Alfiya 07 1900 (has links)
We discuss a model of a virtual power plant (VPP) that provides market access to privately-owned distributed generations (DGs). The VPP serves passive loads, processes bids from generators, and trades in the wholesale market. The generators can be renewable or thermal, and they act strategically to maximize their own profit. The VPP establishes the rules of the internal market to minimize the cost of energy and the cost of balancing while ensuring generator participation and load balancing. We derive a heuristic mechanism for internal market and propose a dynamic programming approach for minimizing the VPP cost. We present illustrative simulations for both single and multistage market bidding and then compare the resulting performance to the centralized VPP model, where the DGs are assumed to be owned by the VPP. We show that the proposed design incentivizes the DG agents to behave the same as in the centralized case, but the optimal cost paid by VPP is higher due to the payments to the DG owners.
