This tradition has its origins in the late 19th century, when airs of modernity and wealth generated from the coffee trade invaded the city, transforming its economy, urban aspects and social interaction as the first rowing clubs started to appear. These informal associations abounded before the city¿s first high-rises were built. Santos breathed sports not only in its clubs, lowland fields and beaches, but also in its schools. Since the early 20th century, the skills and innovative methods of the city¿s physical education teachers caught people¿s attention. The work of these masters, their pedagogical input, contributed to the city¿s cultural development. Their dedication to sport activities and civic parades had a great impact on society. This study seeks to uncover part of the history of school competitions in the city of Santos in the 20th century (1934-1964) by understanding how these sport events took place, and revealing the main figures behind them and their goals. This study was guided, mainly, by the reflections of Marcus Aurélio Taborda de Oliveira, published in his thesis for PUC-SP entitled A Revista Brasileira de Educação Física e Desportos (1968-1984) e a experiência da rede municipal do ensino de Curitiba: entre adesão e a resistência (The Brazilian magazine of physical education and sports ¿ 1968-1984 ¿ and the experience of Curitiba City Public Schools: between accession and resistance), a work that allows an understanding of the national physical education and its main achievements; and those made by Eliana Campos Prates in her dissertation, defended in 2009 for a master¿s degree in Education at Universidade Católica de Santos, that offers an historical analysis of Santos¿ school sport addressing women¿s teams and the emancipation of women through physical practices. The methodological approach utilized in this study was documentary research, mainly newspaper articles, iconographic sources and oral history, obtained through interviews with former teachers and access to their personal archives. Also of great relevance was the material found at the Centro da Memória Esportiva Museu De Vaney (Center of Sport Memory De Vaney Museum), in Santos. The study led to the conclusion that the sport practices of school physical education were dictated by official education policies and developed by teachers of the discipline with quality education in the field. To the school sport youth, values were transmitted regarding order, discipline, spirit of initiative and social skills in a healthy competitive environment. The sport context of this city by the beach was a fertile soil, and its clubs had, in the local schools, their greenhouse. / Santos é uma cidade onde o esporte é atividade vital e parte de sua história. A tradição de ter sido várias vezes campeã dos Jogos Abertos do Interior, vem desde os fins do século XIX, quando os ares da modernidade e as riquezas do café invadiram a cidade, ocasionando transformações econômicas, urbanísticas e sociais; época que deu início ao surgimento dos clubes de regatas e, também, as gremiações; incontáveis antes das construções verticais. Nesse período a cidade respirava esporte, não só nos clubes, nos campos de várzea, nas praias, mas também nas escolas. A partir do século XX, a competência e os métodos inovadores dos professores de educação física da cidade chamavam a atenção. O trabalho dos mestres, suas ações pedagógicas, contribuía para o enriquecimento cultural. O compromisso com as atividades esportivas e os desfiles cívicos tinha grande repercussão na sociedade. Por esses motivos, esta pesquisa buscou resgatar a história das competições colegiais na cidade de Santos no século XX (1934-1964), na tentativa de compreender como se processavam essas experiências esportivas; quais os seus principais mentores e metas. Com esse objetivo este estudo serviu-se, em especial, das reflexões feitas por Marcus Aurélio Taborda de Oliveira, na sua tese de doutorado da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, com o título ¿A Revista Brasileira de Educação Física e Desportos (1968-1984) e a experiência da rede municipal do ensino de Curitiba: entre adesão e a resistência¿, que dá subsídio para entender a educação física nacional e suas principais realizações; a dissertação de mestrado de Eliana Campos Prates, defendida em 2009 no Mestrado em Educação na Universidade Católica de Santos, que faz uma análise histórica do esporte colegial santista, abordando as equipes femininas e a ascensão das mulheres através das práticas físicas. A metodologia utilizada é a pesquisa documental: principalmente as reportagens jornalísticas, fontes iconográficas e a história oral, obtida em depoimentos de professores e nos seus acervos; sendo relevante o material encontrado no Centro da Memória Esportiva Museu De Vaney de Santos. Ao final desta pesquisa foi possível verificar que as práticas esportivas de educação física colegial são baseadas nas diretrizes de políticas educacionais e desenvolvidas por professores com formação apurada. À juventude esportista colegial foram transmitidos valores, como: ordem, disciplina, espírito de iniciativa e de convivência; que teve como resultado uma competitividade saudável. Fatores que fizeram da cidade praiana solo fértil ao desenvolvimento esportivo e os clubes puderam ter nas escolas seu principal celeiro.

Esta pesquisa trata da prática do futebol amador jogado no contexto do Peladão maior campeonato de futebol de várzea do Brasil, que ocorre desde 1973 na cidade de Manaus e que agrega homens, mulheres e crianças, além de contar com um grande concurso de beleza que elege, todos os anos, a Rainha do Peladão. Busca-se, a partir de uma descrição detalhada do circuito do futebol de Manaus, identificar como, por meio desta prática, os boleiros e boleiras da capital amazonense envolvem-se num continuo processo de habitação da metrópole, tecendo linhas narrativas, colocando em jogo categorias de pertença e acusação, e circulando por suas ruas, campos e bares, criando, assim, uma cidade específica daqueles que vivem intensamente este jogo: a Manaus do futebol. / The following research is about amateur football playing in the context of Peladão the greatest lea football championship in Brazil that takes place in Manaus since 1973, which integrates men, women and children, as well as a beauty pageant that annually elects the Peladão´s Queen. In the literature of sportive practices anthropology, football has frequently been used as a framework for research into indigenous societies; expanding on these theoretical models developed for football allows for greater understanding into the rituals within the society to which they belong, and to highlight the relationship between football and other practices. The ethnographic study proposes the Upper Xingu from researches conducted with the Kalapalo peoples of Tanguro village, hence the emphasis on wrestling in Alto Xingu (kal. ikindene). Anthropological themes highlighted on the peoples of the region, such as the construction of the body, chieftaincy, complex inter-ethnic rituals and mythology are directly linked to the wrestling. The objectives also include a more positive assessment for what was termed as "sportive practices" within indigenous societies, ethnographically in the Upper Xingu. This is not only to realize the "sportive" nature of these activities, but above all to understand the symbolic space for each mode, whether in the village, or in rituals disputes that renegotiate the dynamics of alliances and rivalries in this regional complex. / Essa pesquisa pretende ampliar o debate antropológico sobre práticas esportivas através da descrição e análise de modalidades disputadas em diferentes contextos. Na literatura de antropologia das práticas esportivas o que se tem de mais consolidado são trabalhos que tomam o futebol como referência, mesmo quando de pesquisas em sociedades indígenas. Nesse caminho, a expansão dos modelos teóricos elaborados para o futebol possibilita entender seus significados no interior da sociedade em que está inserido, além de trazer à tona relações entre o futebol e outras práticas. O recorte etnográfico proposto é o Alto Xingu, em pesquisas realizadas entre os Kalapalo da aldeia Tanguro, donde o destaque para a luta alto-xinguana (kal. ikindene). Temas antropológicos destacados sobre os povos da região, como a fabricação do corpo, chefia, complexo ritual interétnico e mitologia, estão diretamente atrelados à luta. Os objetivos compreendem ainda uma visão mais positiva para aquilo que foi denominado como "esportividade ameríndia", etnograficamente no Alto Xingu. Não se trata apenas de perceber o caráter "esportificado" de algumas atividades, mas acima de tudo compreender o espaço simbólico destinado a cada modalidade, seja no plano da aldeia, seja nas disputas rituais que atualizam a dinâmica de alianças e rivalidades nesse complexo regional.

Its practitioners, the youth footballers, are possessed of varying talents, factors that distinguish them in a marketing scale that streamlines the exchange in the football universe. Looking for professional football, they start from the football gift recognized and nurtured by those 8 who surround them, adding many other values, in a practical and symbolic order, which depend on the relationships established within the institutional framework of this sport and that has to do with other players, coaches, directors, supporters, family members, agents and specialized media, but also with all the environment where they live those experiences. We can glimpse, thus, the dynamics of a "sports ecology" approached from a multi-sited perspective where I present part of some meshwork relations that produces surfaces in formation and constant movement and instability, whose relations among the actors are mobilized around what is defined by producing sports talents, commonly stabilized by some categorizations taken here by issues such as projects, professional career and sportive trajectory. The scenario considered is the youth football in Brazil and part of South America (Uruguay and Argentina), between clubs and national teams (under 15 and under 17), seeking to understand how the world of youth footballers is created and reproduced in and out of the pitch. / O tema desta tese é o futebol de base. Seus praticantes, os futebolistas de base, são possuidores de talentos variáveis, fator que os distinguem numa escala mercadológica que dinamiza a troca no universo futebolístico. Em busca do futebol profissional, partem do dom futebolístico reconhecido e alimentado pelos que os circundam, agregando muitos outros valores, de ordem prática e simbólica, que dependem das relações estabelecidas dentro do enquadramento institucional desse esporte e que tem a ver com outros futebolistas, treinadores, dirigentes, torcedores, familiares, agentes e mídia especializada, mas também com todo o ambiente onde vivenciam essas experiências. Vislumbra-se, assim, a dinâmica de uma "ecologia esportiva" abordada a partir de uma perspectiva multi-situada onde apresento parte de um emaranhado produtor de superfícies em formação e em constante movimentação e instabilidade, cujas relações entre os atores são mobilizadas em torno daquilo que se define por produção de talentos esportivos, comumente estabilizada por algumas categorizações tomadas aqui por problemáticas, tais como as noções de projeto, carreira profissional e trajetória esportiva. O cenário considerado é o futebol de base no Brasil e parte da América do Sul (Uruguai e Argentina), entre clubes e seleções (sub 15 e sub 17), buscando entender como o mundo dos futebolistas de base é concebido e reproduzido, dentro e fora de campo.

It aims to identify, analyze and describe a specific relation in the work of these guides and the factors that support it. A research of qualitative nature has been made in order to make it possible for the researcher to be in direct contact with the guides and, therefore, obtain accurate data about their motivations. A semi-structured interview has been made with four volunteer guides that work with blind and visually impaired athletes. The data have been submitted to an analysis of content in order to characterize their motivational profile, as well as their aim to help athletes, the consciousness of facing high motivational situations and mostly the perspective of social recognition that they experience and share with the blind and visually impaired athletes. This study emphasizes that the personal valorization experienced is not related in any way to the view of negative aspects in the partners. On the other hand, they are extremely critics in relation to some prejudiced manifestations they have faced in situations of competitions. The data also show that the described difficulties are related exclusively to the corporal movements with synchronism, pointing, thus, a content related to the physical activity, present, objectively, in the sporting events. In a view that privileges elements of the psychological comprehension of the development of the blind and visually impaired, risks of the establishment of relational distortions that imprint a hyper-protective bond and, consequently, disfavor the most creative and adequately independent experience of the athlete they are guiding could also be observed in the data. / Este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer o perfil motivacional de guias de atletas com deficiência visual. Propõe-se a identificar, analisar e descrever, no trabalho desses guias, uma relação específica e os fatores que a sustentam. Para isso realizou-se uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, o que possibilitou ao pesquisador um contato direto e, conseqüentemente, a obtenção de dados fiéis à expressão dos guias participantes, acerca de suas motivações para desenvolver seu trabalho. Foi realizada uma entrevista semi-estruturada com quatro guias voluntários, que desenvolvem suas atividades junto a instituições de prática esportiva de deficientes visuais. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo, permitindo, além de caracterizar seu perfil motivacional, destacar a vontade de ajudar, a consciência de vivenciar situações altamente motivadoras e, principalmente, a perspectiva de reconhecimento social que os guias experimentam e compartilham com o atleta com deficiência visual. Ressalta-se que a valorização pessoal experimentada em momento algum mostrou-se vinculada à visão de aspectos negativos em seu parceiro, sendo, ao contrário, extremamente críticos em relação a algumas manifestações preconceituosas que já vivenciaram em situações de competição. Os dados mostraram ainda, que as dificuldades descritas referem-se predominantemente à movimentação corporal com sincronia, destacando, portanto, um conteúdo vinculado à atividade física, objetivamente presente na prática esportiva. Em uma visão que privilegia elementos da compreensão psicológica do desenvolvimento da pessoa com deficiência visual, observaram-se riscos de estabelecimento de distorções relacionais que imprimam um laço superprotetor e, conseqüentemente, desfavorecedor da expressão mais criativa e adequadamente independente do atleta que estão guiando.
