Význam edukace a prevence úrazu u dětí při kontaktu se psem / Importance of education and prevention of child injury in contact with dogCHLOPČÍKOVÁ, Marie January 2014 (has links)
The dissertation entitled: "Importance of education and prevention of child injury in contact with dog" was written with the purpose to point out not only the current status of children's knowledge and experience in contact with the favourite pet - dog, but primarily to provide a new educational-preventive concept that should help to reduce the risk of incidence of negative experience (injuries, attacks) with dogs in child population. The goal of the dissertation was to improve the children's knowledge on responsible and safe approach to dogs. The theoretical part of the dissertation points out the comprehensive significance of the child-dog relation. The individual sections describe the essential influence of the dog on the mental, emotional and social development of the child, with emphasis on understanding the differences of human-animal communication and the related risks. At the same time, the dissertation outlines also the issue of injuries and conflict situations caused to the child by the dog due to lack of knowledge of basic rules of safe approach to the animal. Last but not least, it emphasizes the significance of primary prevention in the relevant issue. The results of the empirical part of the dissertation pointed out the most frequent causes and mechanisms (basic risk factors in child behaviour) of origination of conflict situation between children and dogs. Based on the alarming results of the first research stage, a new interactive educational-preventive program was created, based on zootherapy - canistherapy method, AAE (Animal Assisted Education) technique, cooperative teaching and situational learning. To assess the efficiency of the preventive activity, a feedback quantitative study was created; it showed improved knowledge on safe approach to dogs in elementary school pupils after having passed the preventive program. The success of the practical form of the preventive program in educational facilities was supported also by creation of educational material - workbook for children. The aid can be used not only as teaching material but particularly as a source of visually processed information and principles for conflict-free child-dog coexistence. The dissertation constitutes a serviceable material not only for lay public at educational level, but also for professional public from the perspective of use of canistherapy and prevention of child injuries.

Preventative Behavioral Parent Training: Demonstration of the Immediacy Effects of an Innovative Conduct Problem Prevention Program in Young At-Risk ChildrenBolton, Alexis 01 May 2012 (has links)
Among preschool-aged children, conduct problems (CP) are the number one reason for referral to mental health professionals. Research has consistently indicated that behavioral parent training (BPT) is the most effective technique for treating children’s disruptive behavior; however, there is a lack of research regarding BPT effects in children below the age of 3. Preventive behavioral parent training (PBPT) can be considered a preventive extension of BPT. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree to which PBPT might yield immediate effects in reducing rates of conduct problems (i.e., noncompliance and tantrums) displayed by typically developing young children. Overall, findings indicated that all four child participants displayed decreased rates of noncompliance and tantrums as predicted.

Feasibility of Family Participation in a Delirium Prevention Program for the Older Hospitalized AdultRosenbloom-Brunton, Deborah 01 May 2009 (has links)
Objective . To examine the feasibility of family participation in a nurse-supported, multicomponent intervention program for delirium prevention in the older hospitalized adult. Background . Delirium is the leading complication of hospitalization for older adults and is associated with important consequences including increased morbidity and mortality, increased use of health care resources, and increased caregiver burden. The potential role that family caregivers could play in delirium prevention and how nurses could facilitate family participation has been largely unexplored. The Calgary Family Intervention Model (CFIM), operating on the assumptions of a family-centered care philosophy, provided a framework for understanding the feasibility of family participation in delirium prevention efforts. Methods . A descriptive exploratory design using a convenience sample of 15 family caregivers of older hospitalized adults at a large teaching hospital was used to address the research questions. For the Family Participation Delirium Prevention Program (FPDPP), family caregivers implemented five intervention protocols targeted toward four baseline risk factors for delirium and self-tracked daily intervention completion. Feasibility was based on rates of intervention completion, and consideration of the barriers and facilitators for participation based on older adults' and family caregivers' responses on discharge questionnaires and staff nurses' responses on a questionnaire. Results . Intervention completion was highest for the orientation protocol (83.5%), followed by the vision protocol (81.5%), therapeutic activities protocol (76.9%), hearing protocol (73.6%), and early mobilization protocol (55.3%). Three themes emerged on the barriers and facilitators for family participation: therapeutic relationships, partnership, and environment. The barriers and facilitators were generally consistent with the concept of family-centered care as described in the CFIM. Conclusion . Based on the rates of intervention completion, it appears that the FPDPP is feasible for implementation in clinical practice. A remarkable level of agreement was found on the concept of the feasibility of family participation among older adult patients, family caregivers, and staff nurses with the common themes that emerged. Key to its successful implementation will be recognition and attention to the barriers and facilitators for participation. In addition, operating from a framework of family-centered care, nurses can advocate for environments that support family caregivers' participation in a delirium prevention program.

Previous issue date: 2011-02-25 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / Health can not be seen as just absence of disease, it should be understood from multiple factors including, among other work conditions. In work environments there are different situations and risks conditions for workers health. Among the occupational risks, we can detach the noise. Occupational exposure to noise has been studied by researchers in the field of occupational health, as one of the most prevalent and the risk that exposes many workers around the world. The best known effect of this exposure is Noise-induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) or High Sound Pressure induced Hearing Loss, considered today as one of the most prevalent disease in work environments and therefore the focus of attention prevention and health promotion. The Hearing Loss Prevention Program (HLPP) plays a key role in activities aimed at protecting workers health against the initiation and aggravation caused by occupational noise that lead to consequences for job performance, the family and participation in society. Accordingly we sought to assess the approach of health professionals, who work in occupational health companies in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, face to Hearing Loss Prevention Program in the workplace. The sample consisted of 20 occupational physicians and 20 audiologists. The technique for the collecting information was the interview with open and closed questions and the method of analysis was the content. Three categories were identified that express the knowledge of professionals about the HLPP: pragmatic, disciplinary and systems view. These categories that reflect the performance professional and detach the limitation and advances of care that companies have in relation to workers health in particular, of the hearing. The HLPP as normative and procedural aspect seeks a set measures that require an integrated work of a team of several professionals from different fields. This study shows, however, that there is still a monumental distance between what is and what is proposed. The reasons that show this scenario indicates the need for further studies in order to insert all the social actors and thus detach the context in several dimensions.

Prevencijos programos “gyvai” efektyvumas tabako ir alkoholio vartojimo mažinimui bendrojo lavinimo mokyklos šeštose klasėse Prevencijos programos “gyvai” efektyvumas tabako ir alkoholio vartojimo mažinimui bendrojo lavinimo mokyklos šeštose klasėse / The Efficiency of Prevention Program “Gyvai” regarding Tobacco and Alcohol Consumption among 6th-graders of Schools of General EducationCėgienė, Snieguolė 29 January 2013 (has links)
Tyrimo tikslas – nustatyti prevencijos programos “Gyvai” efektyvumą tabako ir alkoholio vartojimo sumažėjimui šią programą įgyvendinusios mokyklos šeštose klasėse.
Tyrimas atliktas dviem etapais. Tie patys mokiniai apklausti prieš ir po priklausomybę sukeliančių medžiagų vartojimo prevencinės programos „Gyvai“. Pirmo etapo metu tyrime dalyvavo 164 VI klasių mokiniai. Antro etapo metu dalyvavo 83,5 proc. mokinių iš pirmo etapo – 137 VII klasių mokiniai: 59 berniukai (43,1 proc.) ir 78 mergaitės (56,9 proc.), amžiaus vidurkis 12,76 ± 0,47.
Siekiant įvertinti priklausomybę sukeliančių medžiagų prevencinės programos „Gyvai“ veiksmingumą, mokiniams buvo pravesta 12-a nuoseklių pamokų. Nustatyti jaunesniųjų paauglių alkoholio vartojimo ir rūkymo ypatumus, naudota sveikatos ir įpročių anketa (Goštautas, 1999), nustatyti jaunesniųjų paauglių savigarbą, naudota Rosenbergo (1965) savigarbos skalė (angl. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, RSES), įvertinti saviveiksmngumą, naudota M. Jerusalem ir R. Schwarzer (1979) bendroji saviveiksmingumo skalė (angl. The General Self-Efficacy Scale, GSE).
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The aim of the research is to establish the efficiency of the prevention program “Gyvai” in terms of decrease in tobacco and alcohol consumption among the 6th-graders of the school implementing the program.
