The aim of this thesis is to examine how Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism are portrayed in four Swedish textbooks for use in upper secondary school using José Casanova’s theory about the public and the private sphere and Craig Calhoun’s interpretation of Jürgen Habermas theory of the public sphere. The four textbooks examined are all to fit the latest curriculum for upper secondary school education on the subject Religionskunskap 1 (Religious education 1). The research questions for this paper are: (1) how can the depictions of the five world religions in Swedish textbooks be understood analysed with the concept of public and private and (2) how can the presentations be understood using José Casanovas theory of de-privatization. The result of the study showed that the depictions given of the religions differed from religion to religion while being rather consistent throughout the different textbooks. It showed that Christianity and Buddhism were depicted as private while Islam and Judaism are depicted as public. Hinduism on the other hand were harder to decide which category they belonged to since they are depicted as both public and private.

A research report submitted to the Faculty of Management, University of the Witwatersrand, in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Management (in the field of Public and Development Management). / With the advent of democracy, COSATU took a leading role in the contestation of public policy. It soon saw itself caught between the tension of cooperating with a democratic government whilst attempting to resist policies not in line with its socialist vision. The purpose of this study was to critically appraise trade union responses to state asset restructuring and privatisation. COSATU in general accepted the privatisation of non-essential enterprises and services, rejected the privatlsation of essential services like water and electricity and called for the strategic nationalisation of essential services like housing and health. They have shown an appreciation of government's arguments, but government has not taken the concern of unions into consideration. The findings reveal quite a high level of pessimism and uncertainty amongst unions with respect to the pragmatic position of COSATU and the equivocation on the part of government to allow space for the contestation of prlvatisation policy. / Andrew Chakane 2018

Final thesis is concerned with privatization of state property in Czech Republic and its effect on corporate performance. It describes theoretical basis of privatization and its methods used in Czech Republic, with special accent on voucher privatization. It also briefly mentions a macroeconomic development of Czech Republic during the transformation compared to other Central European countries.
