Analýza vztahu mezi změnou ratingu vládních dluhopisů a tržním chováním / Analysis of the relationship between the change of sovereign rating and market behavior

Cibulka, Jakub January 2011 (has links)
This master thesis analyzes the relationship between the change of sovereign rating and market behaviour. The first part is devoted to rating itself. I present the various types of the rating, development, structure and risks of the market for credit rating agencies. The second part focuses on the nature of government bonds and the methodology for determining credit rating. The third part contains an analysis of market indicators in selected countries, econometric analysis of the relationship between credit ratings and risk perception in the market and comparison with other indicators of potential default. I summarize all the knowledge in the conclusion and I am trying to predict future developments in the market for credit rating agencies.

Perceived fairness of performance assessments in the implementation of performance management and development system in a government department.

Maseti, Pumza Penelope. January 2014 (has links)
M. Tech. Business Administration / The Department of Water Affairs has implemented the Performance Management and Development System for more than ten years, but every year the Department of Water Affairs Human Resources department has been dealing with various complaints from both supervisors and supervisees which signals some level of dissatisfaction with the system. The difficulty of measuring performance and the involvement of subjective human judgment makes the design of performance management systems challenging. This study was undertaken as an attempt to ascertain the employee perceptions of the procedural, distributive, and interactional fairness of performance assessments in implementing the Performance Management and Development System within the Department of Water Affairs.

Performance management as a tool to improve performance outcomes at a water trading entity.

Legong, Fhatuwani Emmanuel. January 2014 (has links)
M. Tech. Business Administration / Over the past few years, there has been increasing evidence in the literature on performance management of the importance of performance management (PM) as a tool to increase desired employee outcomes. The South African public service is facing significant challenges on several fronts in sustaining its human resource management so that it will be instrumental in providing quality service delivery to all public stakeholders in the 21st century. The continued success of any public institution in the service industry depends on its employees' contribution and commitment. This means that human resources are a vital resource that contributes to a public institution's effectiveness. In order to improve service delivery in the public sector, performance management was introduced as a means of improving employee outcomes in the Water Trading Entity (WTE). The purpose of this study was to investigate how the current performance management practices within the WTE (e.g., providing employees with feedback on strengths and weaknesses; development needs; resources needed by employees; as well as opportunities for monitoring) are related to the achievement of specific desired performance outcomes. The research was undertaken in the WTE that operates within the Department of Water Affairs.

Kartläggning av de dominerande kreditvärderingsinstituten på den svenska fastighetsmarknaden : Likheter, skillnader och potentiella svagheter / Mapping of the Dominant Credit Rating Agencies in the Swedish Real Estate Market : Similarities, Differences and Potential Weaknesses

Rydelius, Lisa, Nilsson, Linn January 2021 (has links)
Credit rating agencies work to make analyzers and assessments of what companies' creditworthiness is by assigning a credit rating. Companies can choose which credit ratings they want to publish to the public. The credit ratings are used as a tool for obligations to price these and are important for the real estate companies' creditworthiness. Liabilities market is an important source of financing for major real estate companies.   The purpose of this Bachelor Thesis is to give the reader an overall picture of the dominant credit rating agency in the Swedish real estate market and point out any similarities, differences and potential weaknesses. This is to identify any penalties that the dominant credit rating agencies may incur. This work is based on both qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method consists of a theoretical framework that contains the institutions' grading scales, credit rating process, policies and disclaimer. The quantitative method includes email interviews, which have been sent out to 30 Swedish real estate companies with public credit ratings.  Results show that there are similarities, differences and weaknesses between the different credit rating agencies. The dominant similarities between the institutions showed the results from the email interviews and the difference between four rating steps in the average credit rating of the real estate companies and differences in credit ratings to Danske Bank. The similarities and differences can lead to weaknesses such as real estate companies paying a lot of money for one or more credit ratings, which the institutions do not take responsibility for, and on which investors may make investment decisions based on.

The relationship between organisational commitment and work performance in an agricultural company

Mguqulwa, Nomakhuze 31 October 2008 (has links)
The purpose of the research was to investigate the relationship between organisational commitment and work performance in an Agricultural company. Allen and Meyer's Organisational Commitment Questionnaire was used as well as the organisation's verbal performance rating tool. The Organisational Commitment Questionnaire was completed by a sample from the organisation and the performance ratings of the employees in the sample were used as comparison. A positive relationship between the two constructs was established while no statistically significant relationship could be established. Further research in this field is suggested in the South African context. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M.A.(Industrial and Organisational Psychology)

Operationalising the social systems paradigm : a case study discussion of a performance appraisal intervention

Godley, Elana Shulamith 01 1900 (has links)
This is a conceptual dissertation which addresses itself to the criticism that the social systems framework is highly abstract and theoretical, and as such relevant only to academics and specialists. The primary purpose of this paper is to operationalise the social system framework, to illustrate its application and to highlight its unique potential. It represents an attempt to enlarge, even redefine, the frameworks used for studying and transforming organisations. In order to best highlight the differences between the social systems framework and other models implicit in traditional approaches, a specific component of organisation reality is focused on, namely the performance appraisal. After discussing and illustrating the models behind most research on the topic, an alternative holistic framework for performance appraisal is sketched. Following this, an actual performance improvement intervention is described in a case study. This provides a practical illustration of the points made in the paper. / Industrial and Organisational Psychology / M. Com. (Industrial Psychology)

Towards a Framework for Supporting Sustainable Building Design: A Case Study of Two Credits Over Evolving Rating Standards

Biswas, Tajin N. A. 01 January 2015 (has links)
It is becoming increasingly relevant that designs address sustainability requirements. The objectives of any sustainable design are: to reduce resource depletion of energy, water, and raw materials; prevent environmental degradation caused throughout the building lifecycle; provide a safe, comfortable and healthy living environment. Currently, the sustainability of a building is judged by standards codified in a rating system. (1) Although compliance with a sustainability rating system is not mandatory, increasingly, it is becoming a goal that many designers and authorities would like to achieve. However, there are impediments to the pervasive use of sustainable design rating systems. 1. Certification is expensive. ( 2 ) It is labor intensive, involving large volumes of data aggregation, information accounting and exchange, which, can be a deterrent to designers and the design process. 2. Ratings systems are periodically reviewed; as our understanding increase and technology improve, sustainability requirements on designs become more extensive and, sometimes, more stringent. (3) 3. Sustainable building design rating tools are not readily integrated into the design process whereby the design solution can be developed by different disciplines. 4. The design information model associated with a building may not contain the data (attributes) necessary to evaluate its design. 5. Information is disparate and distributed—requiring it to be supplemented, augmented from various sources, and managed for the different stages of a building design process In practice, designers tend to employ commercial (and reasonably stable) design tools, making it imperative to develop an approach that utilizes information readily and currently available in digital form in conjunction with rating system requirements. This research focuses on supporting sustainability assessment where designers need to evaluate the information in a design in order to fulfill sustainability metrics. The main research objective is an approach to integrating sustainability assessment with a design environment. This comprises: identifying informational requirements from rating systems; representing them in computable form; mapping them to information in a commercial design tool; and assessing the performance of a design. An overall framework for organizing, managing and representing sustainability information requirements is developed as the demonstrator. Case study of an actual project demonstrates the flow of information from a commercially available building information modeler and a sustainable building rating system. The process developed bridges sustainability assessment requirements with information from the model for preevaluation prior to submission for certification. Contributions include a technical implementation of sustainable design assessment for pre assessment through a process of identifying information availability, augmentation, representation and management focused on two credits (Reduce indoor water use and Minimum energy performance) over evolving rating standards, namely (LEED 2.1, LEED 2009 and LEED v4). These contributions are intended to enable designers, stakeholders, contractors and other professionals to communicate strategies and make informed decisions to achieve sustainability goals for a project from design through to operation. (1) Design choices are validated, by measuring design performance against criteria specified by the rating system. See Chapter 2: Research Background. (2) “Shame on you for perpetuating this myth that green design costs more even if integrated properly. LEED certification does, but green design need not.” (Kats, 2010) (3) “Sustainability is not static–it is iteratively changing, based on knowledge that connects science and design.” (Williams, 2007)
