This thesis deals with design of new product in field of office furniture. The product should, firstly comply with trends of development and transformations of office environment and, secondly, be producible using up-to-date technological equipment a company. The aim is this thesis is to create a concept of product, together with a prototype which might be included in a product-portfolio HON a.s. company. My thesis includes six crucial parts: The first presents historical context containing tendencies in dealing with office space and environment. The second deals with environmental and behavioural background of office projects, and its principal output is presented as a design and realisation of one office using knowledge incoming from wide bibliography. Philosophy and strategy of HON a.s. company, as well as a furniture trade investigation are described in the third part. In the fourth part I describe technology equipment and used materials in the company. The fifth part deals with final design of furniture object. Herein I describe my mind process of creation of office reception desk as a furniture office supplement. The process is explained using mind maps, concepts, drafts and 3D visualisations resulting in a prototype output and also strategy of presentation. The sixth part includes discussion which deals with questions about use and assertion in the office trade and practice.

This thesis presents a descriptive study of the Czech translations and reception of Horrible Histories, a popular science book series written by British author Terry Deary. The methodological framework is based on Gideon Toury's 1995 model, which is reflected in the structure of the thesis. First, the Czech translations are contextualised, whereby the preliminary norms derived from an interview with the initiator and commissioner of the translations are described. With regard to the original works by the series translator Robert Novotný, a hypothesis suggesting an initial tendency towards acceptability is formulated. What follows is a stylistic analysis of two Czech translations, based on which distinctive stylistic features of the translated series are determined and ways in which the texts deviate from acceptability are presented. Next, the thesis focuses on the Czech metatexts Děsné české dějiny ('Horrible Czech Histories'). After the circumstances under which the series originated are explained, a stylistic analysis of two metatexts is carried out, followed by a comparison with the translated texts. The subject of the thesis is the Czech reception of works by French author François Mauriac. Providing a complete overview of prose translations, the thesis analyses the development of Czech critical reflection over the course of a century, focusing on both the epitext and peritext (Genette, 1987) of the editions. The second part of the thesis consists of a translatological analysis of the 1927 novel Thérèse Desqueyroux and two Czech translations, resulting in a verdict regarding the possible publication of a new edition of the translation analysed, i.e. re-edition recommendations, the description of necessary editorial changes, or a proposal for a new "generational" translation. This thesis describes a project documentation for consruction of a guesthouse. The building is situated on the flat land in cadastral territory in Vsetín. It is two-storey building. External loadbea-ring masonry is from ceramic blocks filled with polystyrene. The ceilings are made of ceramic-concrete panels. Stairways and elevator shafts are reinforced concrete. The building is roofed with a flat roof.

The objective of the bachelor thesis is the design of the hotel in Libínské Sedlo, close to the city of Prachatice. Building is designed as four story, partly embedded in sloping terrain. Load bearing structures are primarily longitudinal walls. On the ground floor is placed reception, restaurant, kitchen, sanitary facilities for emloyees and technical rooms. On the other stories are rooms for hotel guests.

This thesis describes the preparation of a project documentation for construction of a mountain guest house. The building is situated in the outskirts of the village Řeka on sloping land. It is a four-storey building with a basement and three floors. Peripheral bearing structures in the basement and first floor are in indirect contact with the soil and are lined with shuttering and a monolithic concrete. Perimeter and interior bearing walls are lined with ceramic blocks. The ceiling structure consists of a pramic - concrete panels. Stairways and elevator shafts are reinforced with a concrete . The building is covered with a gable roof, which is divided in the centre by an aisle roof. The part of the loft is used as an attic.

The diploma thesis is concerned with reception of the Austrian novelist and playwright Thomas Bernhard in the Czech Republic after 1989. The piece of work mainly focuses on how the writer was presented to the Czech society. The thesis also responds to the statement of the Czech Germanist Milan Tvrdík who said, in 1995, that Thomas Bernhard still awaits discovery of his writings in the Czech Republic and, so far, is an author mostly for Germanists. Theoretical framework of the work is based on the reception theory of Constance school. The research is mainly focused on the Czech translations of the Bernhard's books which contain epilogues and editorial notes, then on the reviews of the Bernhard's plays introduced in the Czech theatres between 1989 and 2019. Considering the fact that some adaptations of Bernhard's plays in our country offered an interesting link between Czech and Slovakian acting scene, an insight of the Bernhard's reception in Slovakia is a part of the work. The analysis takes into consideration external factors, too. These factors are translators, editors, or individual publishing houses Prostor, Mladá Fronta, Divadelní ústav or Odeon, which have influenced the reception of Bernhard's work in the Czech Republic. The present diploma thesis is focused on the history of Czech translations from Portuguese and Brazilian literatures between 1898, when the first book translation from Portuguese was published, and 1948, when the Czechoslovak coup d'état took place, causing changes in the reception of foreign literatures. The first part of the thesis includes a theoretical model of research in the history of translation, a list of examined translations, a brief summary of Czech- Portuguese and Czech-Brazilian relations, an insight into Czech publishing activity and a reflection on Portuguese language literatures in Czech periodicals. The second part of the thesis deals with all sixteen book translations and, to a limited extent, also magazine and manuscript translations. This part presents information about the original books and their authors and it deals with the circumstances of the origin and publication of their translations, the personalities of the translators, publishers and, last but not least, the reception of the translations on the Czech literary scene. The presented diploma thesis maps the situation of contemporary child's reading. It deals with the factors which form the child reader externally (especially family, school and libraries, or the projects supporting child's reading). The main part of the thesis presents an analysis of the contemporary poetry for children. It examines how the books can influence the readers and motivate them for further reading. For the text analysis, the books of poetry which were awarded in competitions of Zlatá stuha or Magnesia Litera in 2013-2017 were selected as representative samples, namely Poetický slovníček dětem v příkladech, Všelijaké řečičky pro kluky a holčičky and Moře slané vody by Radek Malý, Tetovaná teta by Daniela Fischerová, Vynálezárium by Robin Král and Hlava v hlavě by David Böhm and Ondřej Buddeus. When analyzing the illustrations, attention was paid to the selected books that won the art category of Zlatá stuha and the competition Nejkrásnější česká kniha roku (The Most Beautiful Czech Book of the Year) and to the books representing the model production of the publishing houses of Běžíliška, Meander and series Raketa in publishing house Labyrint. This thesis focuses on the concept of the trap for the reader, which is defined using the methodology of the cognitive science cognitive literary studies as an input of such structures and concepts in the text by which specific scheme is activated in the mind of the reader to be replaced by the different incompatible scheme. Based on this replacement, the comprehension of the text is reconstructed. Afterward, we describe specific types of trap for the reader. Every type of the trap is defined by replaced schemes: characters are prototypically an- thropomorphic, characters are black-and-white, characters are archetypes, the narrator speaks the truth, the genre is not changed. Excerpts of literary works are used to represent each type of trap. In the other part of the thesis, we demonstrate usage of this concept in the literature lessons at upper elementary and high schools. Both well-known pieces of the Czech literature, as well as contemporary young adult literature, are used as examples for the didactic use of this concept.
