Deste modo, pôde-se comprovar os resultados e o desempenho da estrutura proposta / Abstract: This paper presents the implementation of a parallel architecture error-correcting code for optical applications that uses the Forward Error Correction (FEC) technique. The FEC algorithm specifically addressed in this work is applied to the Reed-Solomon, which is mainly intended for systems that are harmed by burst errors, which makes it suitable for optical transmissions. A serial FEC encoder/decoder structure and the steps to convert it to a parallel approach are addressed in this work. An example of method that generates an encoder/decoder for a RS(255,239) Reed-Solomon code with parallel structure, able to operate at 100 Gbit/s data rate in optical networks, is also presented. The parallel implementation offers higher FEC processing speeds to handle higher throughputs. A test environment was designed with an application in optical transport networks (OTN). This feature consists a transponder which maps a 100 Gigabit Ethernet client inside an OTN frame structure. With this setup the expected results for the proposed FEC circuitry could be experimentally verified / Mestrado / Telecomunicações e Telemática / Mestre em Engenharia Elétrica

Mrvová, Michaela January 2015 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the sludge management at root sewage treatment plants with focus on volum eis highest – sludge manahement. Sludge dewatering using sludge dryiing bed is still condemned designers mainly due to their lack of experience, while at the same time enforcing technologically complex solutions. Therefore, the thesis focuses on the break down balance hydrological equation sludge drying bed, which includes all parameters affecting water balance system. The result is a proposal not only design, but in particular a description of input data and the governing equations in software Reed-Bed, which is calibrated own operational results obtainde for the two sewage treatment plants (village Dražovice and Kotenčice). Reed-Bed software will perform sevetal functions: setting the ground area of sludge bed, investment costs required for the implementation of sludge bed, return on investment, the determination of moisture contene of sludge in the sludge bed and maximum lenght of the dewatering period with regard to wetland vegetation. The second largest item within sludge system creates biomass wetland plants, so work deals with possibilities biomass processing plant at the end of the growing season. Technological processing of biomass was tested on common reed, final product pellets for heating.

<p>Predmet istraživanja doktorske disertacije je faktorizacija polinoma dve promenljive sa celobrojnim koeficijentima pomoću njima pridruženih Newton-ovih poligona. Formalizacija potrebnog i dovoljnog uslova za postojanje netrivijalne faktorizacije polinoma dve promenljive sa celobrojnim koeficijentima omogućava konstrukciju efektivnog algoritma za faktorizaciju. Konačno, dobijeni teorijski rezultati su primenjeni na dekodiranje jedne klase Reed &ndash; Solomon kodova, miksa dve kodne reči.</p> / <p>The research subject of the thesis is factorization of bivariate polynomials with integer coefficients via associated Newton polygons. Formalization of the necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a non &ndash; trivial factorization of an arbitrary bivariate polynomial with integer coefficients obtains theoretical basis for construction of an effective factorization algorithm. Finally, these theoretical results are applied in decoding special class of Reed &ndash; Solomon codewords, mixture of two codewords.</p>

A Gröbner basis algorithm for fast encoding of Reed-Müller codes

Abrahamsson, Olle January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis the relationship between Gröbner bases and algebraic coding theory is investigated, and especially applications towards linear codes, with Reed-Müller codes as an illustrative example. We prove that each linear code can be described as a binomial ideal of a polynomial ring, and that a systematic encoding algorithm for such codes is given by the remainder of the information word computed with respect to the reduced Gröbner basis. Finally we show how to apply the representation of a code by its corresponding polynomial ring ideal to construct a class of codes containing the so called primitive Reed-Müller codes, with a few examples of this result.

L'influence d'Andy Warhol sur la musique du Velvet Underground (1965-67)

Meb, 12 February 2019 (has links)

NEW TELEMETRY HARDWARE FOR THE DEEP SPACE NETWORK TELEMETRY PROCESSOR SYSTEM

Puri, Amit, Ozkan, Siragan, Schaefer, Peter, Anderson, Bob, Williams, Mike 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 23-26, 2000 / Town & Country Hotel and Conference Center, San Diego, California / This paper describes the new Telemetry Processor Hardware (TPH) that Avtec Systems has developed for the Deep Space Network (DSN) Telemetry Processor (TLP) system. Avtec is providing the Telemetry Processor Hardware to RTLogic! for integration into the Telemetry Processor system. The Deep Space Network (DSN) is an international network of antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions for exploration of the solar system and the universe. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory manages the DSN for NASA. The TLP system provides the capability to acquire, process, decode and distribute deep space probe and Earth orbiter telemetry data. The new TLP systems will be deployed at each of the three deep-space communications facilities placed approximately 120 degrees apart around the world: at Goldstone, California; near Madrid, Spain; and near Canberra, Australia. The Telemetry Processor Hardware (TPH) supports both CCSDS and TDM telemetry data formats. The TPH performs the following processing steps: soft-symbol input selection and measurement; convolutional decoding; routing to external decoders; time tagging; frame synchronization; derandomization; and Reed-Solomon decoding. The TPH consists of a VME Viterbi Decoder/MCD III Interface board (VM-7001) and a PCI-mezzanine Frame Synchronizer/Reed-Solomon Decoder (PMC- 6130-J) board. The new Telemetry Processor Hardware is implemented using the latest Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology to provide the density and speed to meet the current requirements as well as the flexibility to accommodate processing enhancements in the future.

Mytho-historical mode : metafictional parody and postmodern high irony in the works of Donald Barthelme, Robert Coover, and Ishmael Reed

Heitkemper-Yates, Michael David January 2013 (has links)
Beginning with an analysis of Northrop Frye’s concept of modal progression (i.e., the cycle from myth to irony—and back again) and an application of modal theory to an analysis of postmodern narrative forms, the need to revise Frye’s concept of modal progression becomes apparent. Rather than following the cyclical pattern Frye proposes, the course of modal progression appears to be fixed to an axis of experience: a certain normative threshold which describes the narrator’s and/or the narrative protagonist’s power of action relative to an assumed neutral audience. How the narrative depiction of the narrator and/or the fictional protagonist relates to this threshold determines the characteristics of the literary mode. As argued in this dissertation, the increase in the hero’s power of action (typical of late modern and postmodern literature) does not necessarily indicate an abrupt return to the mythic mode (as predicted by Frye). Instead, what is seen to emerge is a decidedly advanced species of narrative irony, or, “high irony” that, while maintaining its distinctly ironic qualities, displays a remarkable tendency to disassemble/reassemble precedent narrative forms (e.g., myth, nonfiction, realistic fiction) into a self-reflexive, highly metafictional form of parody. As the absurd, parodic chaos of the high ironic mode shares several significant traits with both myth and nonfiction, these overlapping, parodic relationships are of great literary importance and theoretical interest. These modal connections and disconnections are what this dissertation attempts to explore and clarify. To that end, this dissertation charts the various ways that myth and nonfictional forms have been put to parodic use in the high ironic metafictions of Donald Barthelme, Robert Coover and Ishmael Reed, three writers whose seminal mid-20th century works did much to shape and direct the course of contemporary American literature. Of special emphasis in this study is the American postmodern preoccupation with revision and the politics of literary subversion that attends this revisionary impulse. The final hypothesis reached by this dissertation is that the literary repercussions of these mid-20th century excursions into ironic, metafictional abstraction have not led to a return to myth, but rather to a discernable tendency among 21st century American writers to return to previously eschewed forms of nonironic narrative. This trajectory thus marks a movement away from forms of narrative irony (as well as away from the mode of myth) and an emerging tendency towards more referential, less fantastic forms of narrative fiction.
